I've been trying off and on to clear a path for the dogs. But it just keeps looking live I've done nothing. 🤷♀️ Oh well. I give up.
My husband got a whole two hours of sleep before having to go back out.
Boo. Two hours is rough. I hope he's holding up okay. What's your total so far?
Ironically most of the morning and early afternoon yesterday wasn't too bad, butnover th course of the afternoon/evening it intensified quite a bit. I think it's over two feet (possibly 3) but it's hard to tell because it is horribly windy and drifting. Some areas are over my head (!), a lot of areas are past my waist, and some areas you can see bare ground 😂

Morning! So glad I have today off. I requested it weeks ago because DS's preschool scheduled their professional development day for today. It could not have worked out better with this storm lol.

I couldn't sleep last night because I was just worrying/dwelling on negatives/being a nut. A human body probably isn't designed to have this much coffee but oh well. I need to start cutting down because I've heard that caffeine only makes anxiety worse.
Overnight oats are my jam. I make them Sunday in mason jars to eat all week. There are tons of ideas and recipes on Pinterest.
That was gonna be my suggestion. Easy peasy!
I'm not a huge fan of the texture of the overnight oats, but I do have a super easy steel cut oat recipe that I make weekly in the colder months: The night before you want to eat, bring 4 cups of water to a boil, add a pinch of salt and a cup of steel cut oats. Boil for 1 minute. Turn off the heat, and put the lid on. Allow to sit overnight. In the morning, I grab a portion and usually add some fruit, yogurt and/or nut butter. They keep well all week.
ohinvrtedworld, I hope you're able to sleep tonight. Do you take melatonin? I take it sometimes when I'm stressed and it helps my brain shut off to get to sleep.

I don't! Maybe I'll try some. Sometimes I'll take generic Unisom but I try not to make a habit of it, and if I take that too late, I'll be crazy groggy when I have to wake up.

butlerfan, I did that this weekend and DH has been eating them for breakfast this week. I've not tried to freeze them since I only made a dozen. The filling was a random 'clean out the fridge' mishmash of veggies, cheese and some leftover Canadian bacon.
ohinvrtedworld, I've been having more nights like that recently. It's so horrible not to get good sleep. I've been trying really hard to cut off screen time at least an hour before bed, as well as taking a hot shower and reading until I'm tired. It works most of the time.
I'm trapped in my house until our plow guy gets here and who knows when that will be. I tried clearing out our walkway but it's impossible with this wind. I measured 28" so far and it's STILL snowing.

Everyone who got snow or ice stay warm and safe! We only received a little dusting here. I'm very disappointed today because I went to have cereal this morning for breakfast and found we were out of milk. Sigh, looks like we need to go grocery shopping.

Melatonin doesn't typically make me groggy, probably because it's the natural sleep hormone. It might be worth trying. Whatever you do try, I hope it works!
Oh man, I had leftover butter chicken for lunch and I was legitimately sad when it was gone it was so yummy. I think it was better today than last night.

Leftover curries are SO much better than when they're fresh! Yum.
I've been trying to change an appointment from noon today to one today, but I haven't heard back yet and it's almost noon. I'm getting nervous. Ridley is supposed to go down for a nap at noon. A knock on the door will totally ruin that.

Today during lunch I FINALLY have my house as clean as I want it. I think I'm at an 11 when cleaning. I'm only content when all the clothes are clean and put away except what we're wearing, and the hardwood floors have undergone the vacuum hose, dry swiffer, wet swiffer treatment lol.
