I hope so. I did have to pull a lot of all-nighters in college and I managed okay. Well, I did fall asleep at random and unfortunate times/places a few times but you know.
I can't count how many times I've fallen asleep in the glider in her room. H likes to joke that we should've bought a La-Z-Boy for the nursery instead of the modern, fancy shmancy glider we got. I'll never tell him to his face that he is right.
<- has never fallen asleep in the glider.. the couch with the baby, on the other hand, happened often. There were also days of me laying in our bed, holding his pacifier in his mouth, telling him to watch the fan so I could nap 😂 (he loved watching the fan as an infant)

Sounds like the modern fancy shmancy glider is plenty comfortable to sleep in!

Wellllll....not exactly.
This all goes back to the sleep thing. Exhaustion sets in and you'll just fall asleep anywhere regardless of comfort.

Whatever works. #survival
My H would find us like that a few times a week and just go "someone had a rough day" 🙈
You never know - you could have a good sleeper. DD has always been a terrible napper, even as an infant, but she slept great at night. May we all have that with these babies!
I keep telling myself to be prepared because DD was not the norm but I will definitely miss my sleep if this one is an "up all night" kind of kid. It takes me awhile to fall back asleep after I've been woken up so if he wakes up every hour, I will get no sleep.
I know a kid who sleeps through the night and into late morning and takes several long naps during the day, so I know you can get lucky but I don't want to get my hopes up only to have it crushed.
I am usually pretty darn good at falling asleep at least.
I know I'm going to sleep in whatever I get, I've sat in a few and specifically check to see how it feels to get into a good sleep position.
Um, yea. That's smart. I was like, "This is pretty and seems comfy." Never thought about the fact that I might fall asleep in it.
My dad bought me a lazy boy for the nursery. It's the best. It was great for rough nights and post c-section when I didn't want to struggle getting out of bed.

I've just decided that the birth and the days after are just going to be a complete shit show. MH says I'm negative, I say a realist. And if it's not as bad as I think, then I'll be plesently surprised.

Right?
My friend's newborn would Nap pretty much everywhere and anywhere. My son napped pretty much nowhere as a newborn.

I will say the sleep we got the two days in the hospital were the worst we had through the newborn period.
Look up info on crying the 2nd night. I wish I had known it was a thing before I had him. This time, we're prepared

I actually read about the 2nd night yesterday. Sounds fun! 😆 But seriously I'm so glad I read about it and will feel a little more prepared.
Also, I'm going to be making a long drive to see my baby sister graduate from Uni this weekend and I might have to get my first Shamrock shake ever. Because that sounds amazing.
I found a second McDonald's and was so excited...and they're OUT of shamrock shakes?!? Oh man. I got a smoothie, but I mean, come on, not even remotely the same.
WHAT? It is St. Patrick's day. How does this even happen?
I am totally at hormonal pregnant-lady levels of rage on your behalf.
Thanks! We'll go when they first open. And I'm all for food recommendations. I'm just sad that I'm not supposed to eat oysters. But I do want seafood!
I'm just really excited to relax on the beach for a couple days. 😆
@katerli, that's interesting. I'm all about doing the opposite that the crowds are doing so any tips are much appreciated.
I like Coronado beach and 15th street the best for sitting on the beach and relaxing. My favorite places are: Underbelly - fancy Ramen Bacero - amazing Mexican Prep kitchen - American food Point Loma seafood - fish & chips. drive to Point Loma Cabrillo after Cucina Urbana - Italian C-level - if you want a good view & seafood.
I have more recommendations depending on where you are.
Thanks! I forget where our air b&b is. MH has already picked out the beaches. One to bring our dog, and the other for him to surf. Lol I'll definitely check out those restaurants. I plan to eat a lot.

Definitely a unicorn. And she's been that way basically since birth. The mom is birthing another baby right now so we'll see if she has another unicorn baby!
This is good to know bc I've had the hardest time finding one good for my height. I also hear different things about if I want to get a wider one or not for two. I essentially just want a couch that fits in the nursery, ha.

I know, right?!? Maybe there was a run on them?? I might stop at a different one on my way home...

littlelion falling asleep while operating a bicycle is some next level falling asleep. I thought my falling asleep while sitting up in bed feeding DD was good.

I almost bought the double for upstairs for the dog, M, and I. We still haven't purchased anything for upstairs and I think we will just end up moving the bilana if I want to be up there more.

You know the difference is on the bike I could tell I was doing it. While with baby it's been like I blinked but fell asleep for quite awhile. Those times are scarier.
I told my MIL that we have our top names picked out, and now are just waiting until birth. H will pick the boy and I will pick the girl name. Anyways, she keeps sending me names and wanting to discuss the names. Yeah no, I am done picking name. It's a good thing I love her.
I'm so glad that no one wanted to discuss names with me. I named her at 10ish weeks from a dream. I didn't have a boy name so when the genetic testing said girl, the name was set and no one said two words about it. Even MH didn't fight me on it.
