What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of a pineapple
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Girl
Name? Charlotte, but now DH is really liking Ava.
Any upcoming appointments this week? None this week.
Any new symptoms or changes? Same old heartburn and general pregnancy pains.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm super uncomfortable all the time. I really dislike the 3rd trimester but I know it will go quickly.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? The only thing I've bought was a pack of newborn diapers about a week and a half ago. Honestly there won't be much else I buy for this baby until probably right before she's born or after.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Unfortunately, no. This week was really hard for all of us- especially DH. I've been trying to really cheer up him after losing our dog. I know he's still having a hard time and I'm just trying to be as happy/strong as I can be for him.
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? Coffee! I honestly can't deal with life until I've had some coffee.
How far along? 26+2 Baby can open his eyes. It's a boy Name? We aren't sure yet. Lincoln or Jackson Apps? Gtt this friday No new symptoms, still the same heartburn and nausea. Rants - this kid was riding so low until this morning and I'm sure he's only teasing me and will go back to sitting on my pelvic bone. Last thing I bought for baby was the babyganics gift set at target. The only thing I typically get to do for myself is go to the gym for 30 minutes. I desperately need coffee with a large amount of creamer in the morning.

How far along are you? 28+2
What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of an egg plant. Developmentally, most just packing on fat now
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Boy
Name? Dominic
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope
Any new symptoms or changes? Just getting super uncomfortable. Increased pelvic pain, shortness of breath. More Braxton hicks contractions. The boy is super active though, particularly at night. He has moments where he just. doesn't. stop. It's the weirdest feeling. DD was not nearly as active. I remember I would sit and try to record a video of her movements on the outside and it would take me awhile because it would just be a thump here or there so I rarely got video. This kid is just everywhere lol Going to be in trouble with this little monster.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I made a corned beef in the slow cooker yesterday with the intention of just reheating it for dinner tonight to save some work. Well, it got left out on the counter all night by mistake so now it's trash DH insists on eating it, but I dont want to risk it for me and DD. Boo.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? A blanket and sleeper. Waiting to make most purchases until the completion discounts on our registries are available.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Just got myself a coffee. And had dessert at Cracker Barrel. And had a lazy day in Saturday where I did mostly nothing in peace and quiet. Napped, online shopped, etc.
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? Water with my prenatal vitamin. Then I usually take something small to eat either right before I leave or during my commute, like almonds, banana, cheese, etc. I don't have time to eat more than that, but if I have an empty stomach I won't feel good. I usually then eat a bagel or something once I get to work.
What's new with baby (size, development)? Camping lantern. I hit 3rd trimester. I've also hit the 2nd viability milestone. She's weighing in around 2 pounds.
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Girl
Name? Nothing yet
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope
Any new symptoms or changes? No. But I keep waiting to wake up and have my feet be huge from swelling.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I feel soooo large! I know most of it is how she is sitting (super high) I now have a hard time putting in my shoes/socks or just sitting on the couch is uncomfortable. Still complaining about my hernia pain (and varicose vein)
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Pink and grey owl decals for her nursery
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Nope
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? Coffee. (I might not finish it, but I always need at least 1/4 of my cup. Then about 40 minutes later breakfast.
What's new with baby (size, development)? Large eggplant
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Not finding out
Name? We haven't discussed in awhile. We have a girl name and a frontrunner for a boy name. We should probably talk about it again.
Any upcoming appointments this week? Yes, on Thursday I have my 28-week appt/Rhogham shot
Any new symptoms or changes? My feet hurt when I walk a lot, like I did over the weekend.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm really worn out after hosting SIL and her family over the weekend. They didn't even stay with us, but we were on the go entertaining the kids all weekend. I'm thinking of taking a personal day/working from home tomorrow just to catch up on a few things. Also we have an outdoor living room addition going on the back of our house. We originally met with the contractor when I was newly pregnant and then we got HOA approval and the work finally started today. I'm glad it's starting since I want it to be done by the time I have the baby, but it kind of snuck up on us and now there are all kinds of decisions we have to make about the design and construction, and I don't know if we have the capacity for that right now.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? If curtains for the baby room/future home office count, then that would be it. I was excited to find a fun design in blackout curtains - orange on top and a gray chevron pattern below. I have to have them shortened (which is on my list for the work from home day tomorrow).
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Not unless you count exercising...
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? Always water. Within the first hour after waking up I eat breakfast. I'm a creature of routine and alternate between cereal and scrambled eggs with cheese. I'm not a coffee or tea person.
What's new with baby (size, development)? Baby is the size of a pineapple. Ovia also said it's nearly as long as it will be at birth, so now it mainly needs to gain weight.
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Don't know
Name? Not deciding until it's here
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope! Passed my glucose challenge so I don't need the 3 hour test.
Any new symptoms or changes? Not really
Rants/Raves/Questions?
What is the last thing you bought for baby? A going home outfit
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Started prenatal yoga and a prenatal massage
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? Water. I am usually not hungry right away.
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Boy
Name? DH suggested Wade yesterday and I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's better than his other suggestions but I'm not completely sold. He seems to think that because I didn't shut it down right away that we've decided.
Any upcoming appointments this week? Maternity clinic on Thursday, will be getting rhogam shot.
Any new symptoms or changes? I'm super motivated to get house and yard work done, but my body keeps telling me it's too much and hurts after .
Rants/Raves/Questions?
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Nothing this week
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Not really
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? Coffee

It's been a bit since I've posted. Just needed a little hiatus from the baby talk I think...
How far? 29w 1d
New with baby? Size of a New England cottontail rabbit. Today's ultrasound she was supposedly weighing 2lb 15oz and she was practicing breathing
Boy/girl: girl
Name? We have a good idea, just not telling people
Appts: had one today. Next one in 3 weeks
New symptoms? The groin pain became unbearable but it's not a varicose vein like I assumed. Dr thinks I tore a tendon or even worse a pelvic stress fracture. I have to go to physical therapy to figure out what's up. DNW to end up not being able to walk... but baby is good so I'll take it. Just overall frustrating
Rants/raves: just an overall bad day. They rebooked last Tuesday's appts to today because of the snowstorm. I missed 3.5 hours of work today because I had to wait so long. I was so frustrated I didn't even ask about my RX for the breast pump. And now DS is sick. Ugh. And tomorrow's picture day at school. It happens twice a year and I swear he always misses it because he's sick. But DH knew I was upset today so he made me brownies and he never does that stuff!
Bought for baby? Some cute prints for her wall. Now I need to find nice frames for them.
Anything for myself? I took DS to friendlys because DH was out with friends... then went to sleep at 9

teachermomtobe I was so drained on the way home from work and was thinking how DH probably was too busy to realize what a long day it was for me... and then I came home to brownies. He even went out to the store to buy the mix. I was shocked!

How far along are you? 28 weeks
What's new with baby (size, development)? Baby is the size of a classic Nintendo!
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Girl!
Name? Ellie
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope, not til next month.
Any new symptoms or changes? Not really. Still having heartburn, back hurts if I do/carry too much, baby is still super active.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I have to rave myself. Today I cleared everything that wasn't too heavy out of what will be DS's big boy room. Since we are not painting, there isn't much more to do before he can start using it as a play room (and for naps). I am very proud of myself. Okay, done bragging now.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? I'm in process of buying a double stroller, does that count?
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Walked/jogged a 5K with DS in the jogging stroller, and that felt pretty good to finish. I didn't enjoy the whole thing, but being done felt good.
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? A bowl of cereal and milk, usually Cocoa Puffs.
What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of a bunch of bananas, or camping lantern. Swallowing and practicing breathing.
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Not finding out
Name? Don't have them yet, but it's on the list for next month to start figuring it out.
Any upcoming appointments this week? Next Friday
Any new symptoms or changes? Getting more tired and sore during/after workouts, back is getting more uncomfortable, RLP has really picked up (stretching helps immensely), HUGE movements from baby!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Loving the huge movements from baby. They're getting more Alien-esque. It makes me happy they're getting more regular as well so I can "track" them in my head at least. My sisters asked for my registries and the invite list for my shower! So exciting!
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Nothing this week. Really trying to wait until my shower.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? More yoga stretching, though I think I'm skipping class tomorrow for a happy hour for work. Bought a few new maternity shirts.
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? Water before I even get out of bed.
violetrose - Hope your H and family are doing better. I hugged my dog extra tight this week.
applemuffins - Hope the meat didn't make your H sick! I would not have eaten it and neither would my H.
sabrinaml - Did you swell with your last pregnancy or is now just the time it usually shows up?
sdlaura - Hope the addition gets done quickly and isn't too stressful! I also bought curtains for the office (which will be baby's room if/once they move out of ours).
starsandshamrocks123 - I hope it's not a fracture! Sounds super painful. Hope they find a way to make you more comfortable soon! And props to your H on the brownies!
trebletrouble13 - Awesome job on the 5k! I haven't gone that far in a while.
What's new with baby (size, development)? Baby is the size of a bowling pin
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Not finding out
Name? We still need to work on this!
Any upcoming appointments this week? OB appointment tomorrow. Had my blood drawn for my glucose test yesterday and I passed!
Any new symptoms or changes? Not in the last couple of weeks
Rants/Raves/Questions? I've actually been feeling better the last couple of weeks or so - after the kids and I got over the cold that ran through our house
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Nothing exciting - more nipples for bottles
Did you do anything for yourself this week? DH is sick now, so I don't have a lot of time for that right now
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? Water. I need water before I can eat or drink anything else
marshian, I swelled really bad with my last pregnancy. No rings started around week 18/19. And I could barely wear shoes starting at week 25. I had to size up (again) in gym shoes and couldn't tie them. I had to knot the laces so I only had about an inch of lace left. It was awful. By week 36 I was as swollen as one could get from the waist down. (EVERYTHING was swollen!) it took about a month after C arrived before I was back to normal shoes. Almost all the weight I gained with him was water weight. Good thing about that is I dropped it quick, but it was brutal.
What's new with baby (size, development)? size of a head of cauliflower, sleeping and waking, maybe sucking her fingers
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? girl
Name? no progress!
Any upcoming appointments this week? had the 3 hour GTT yesterday. next regular appt is early april i think.
Any new symptoms or changes? so much movement, and if i'm on my feet a lot, i feel like the baby is gonna fall out of me. i never felt this way with DD - google says it's common and probably due to a weakened pelvic floor. kegels here i come!
Rants/Raves/Questions? newborn photos? anyone thinking about it yet? with DD we took them in a studio, but i think i want to do them at home this time.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? nothing lately, but i'm hoping to get to work on organizing her room now that our floors are done.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? hahaha, i'm looking forward to a week where i don't laugh at this question. no.
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? sometimes water at home, but usually coffee and breakfast when i get to work.
agm04 - I have my newborn session booked a month ago, so early planner here. We went with an in-home lifestyle session. I do photography on the side (including newborns), so my plan is to do my own posed photos. But we need someone to get ones of the three of us (plus our dog). There are some photographers who will come to your home and do a combo of some lifestyle (less posed, more casual) and the typical posed newborn-only shots if you can't decide.

How far along are you? 30 weeks I can't believe there is already a December birth month board
What's new with baby (size, development)? size of a helmet (I like that one !)
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? No idea (getting curious)
Name? Baby name discussions have lulled for the time being
Any upcoming appointments this week? My life is appointments (which are my social life when I'm on bedrest)
Any new symptoms or changes? I'm finally gaining weight again!! All good news
Rants/Raves/Questions? Doing a birthing class this weekend (assigned by the hospital) even though we will be having a c section I'm sure it'll still have lots of info
What is the last thing you bought for baby? I bought two dresses today, I have such strong "boy" feelings that I wanted to also have some things if baby is a girl (plus they were really cute)
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Lots of letting myself sleep in (perks of bedrest)
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? When not pregnant I drink herbal tea in the morning (while pregnant I drink hot water with lemon in it - yes I am 80)
Me: 29 DH: 35 NTNP since May 2013 charting since June 2014 dx: Graves disease (radioactive iodine), Crohns disease (abdominal surgeries) MMC October 2015 (9 weeks) Severe MFI diagnosis July 2015
ihatepizza, I enjoyed my birthing class! I especially enjoyed the tour of the hospital, it calmed me in a way to see where I would be and what it all looked like. I have no idea why, but I'm a control freak so maybe that's why. Also, if your hospital offers a Boot Camp for New Dads, send your husband! My husband went as a rookie and then as a veteran dad. He learned so much and still talks about how great it was. He found that class SO valuable.

How far along are you? 28 weeks
What's new with baby (size, development)? Packing on weight and improving temperature regulation
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Girl
Name? We haven't discussed in a few weeks. Should probably get on it again
Any upcoming appointments this week? Had one yesterday. Baby was great.
Any new symptoms or changes? Belly getting bigger, having a hard time falling back to sleep after my middle of the night bathroom trip, some mild ankle swelling, suddenly feeling big
Rants/Raves/Questions? I had low platelets at my intake appt (133 -think it's 133,000). I was retested a month or two later and it was 150 which is normal. Tested again yestetday back at 133. OB says the plan is to test every 4 weeks until delivery to make sure they don't drop too low. Dr Google tells me the risk may be bleeding and not being able to get an epidural if they are too low. Under 100 seems to be too low so keeping FX they don't drop any more.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Nothing
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Going to yoga and the gym makes me feel good
GTKY: What is usually the first thing you eat/drink in the morning? Water with my Zantac. Then breakfast (eggs and english muffin) within half hour. I have always been starving in the mornings.
teachermomtobe i've never heard the platelet thing. i hope the #s stay up for you!
so i figured we'd never name this baby, bc DH never brings it up, and i don't want to nag. last night he asked what i think about lydia (one of our top 3) - i was shocked. my favorite was caroline marie, and his favorite first name has been elizabeth all along. we threw in lydia as a third option. i'll chew on it, but i could go for lydia marie! (his mom's first name is maria, and my maternal grandmother's middle name is marie, so nice ties there.)
teachermomtobe, I had low platelet count with C. Mine wasn't detected until 36 weeks. Short story- I was 136 at 36 weeks. OB called at 36+1 and told me to go to L&D probable induction that night. New blood draw that evening. No results given to me until next morning- still 136. New blood draw same morning- 111. Big wig OB decided I was staying and being induced. I had plenty of other things going in besides platelets dropping. Major swelling early on (25 weeks), bp would spike and then be normal, once in the hospital (and 1 time before, I just didn't know there was a term for it or to watch out) I had fireworks with my vision, occasional protein in urine samples. (I had to do 2 24 hour collections on top of my normal visit samples.) I didn't look at dr google until after delivery. My condition was HELLP. H (hemolysis, which is the breaking down of red blood cells) EL (elevated liver enzymes) LP (low platelet count) Basically a rare form of pre-eclampsia. Because I had this with C, I'm high risk with baby girl. So far I've only had 1 extra blood draw, and had a level 2 ultrasound with MFM instead of with regular OB. I havent been cleared from my specialist just yet (low lying placenta so hopefully I'm cleared after 32 week ultrasound.)
ETA: C was born at 36+4 via c-section. (Tried inducing Friday night 7pm through 9:30 Sunday morning, no progress made but waters had begun to leak Saturday evening. They don't like to wait more than 18 hours after water breaks to deliver.) He was perfectly healthy. Spent no time in the NICU and weighed 7 lbs 4oz. Most they did was check sugar levels after each feeding.
