I can't wait to see kicks and such!! MH is so antsy to feel them!
My doc just called to tell me I'm anemic, which doesn't seem possible considering the amount of red meat and spinach I eat, ha...I even do tons of citrus around the time I eat it, which is supposed to help with absorption. I had just told H we should cut back on the red meat bc he would eat it every day if I let him...guess he was onto something. I'm just going to take a supplement and add in some non meat sources. But I'm sure H won't complain if I slip steak into the dinner rotation again

wannabmama, H would be so happy if I slipped steak in to our dinner rotation more often. I eat a lot of iron-rich food and am still anemic during pregnancy (I'm usually borderline when not). Be careful about the iron you take because it can be really rough on your stomach. The ob recommended feosol, which is supposed to be easier on you. It still makes me a little nauseated (but every kind of supplement does that this pregnancy) but at least I don't get horrible constipation like I do with normal iron supplements.

wannabmama, I was on iron pills too. The directions say not to take with food but I got sick to my stomach one night like in the bathroom heaving at 2 am. Those pills can be strong (also why it's suggested to take at night) depending on the dose you need. After that I made sure to eat something before taking the pills.

I had the easier iron pill too but my dose was really high compared to what other ladies on my bmb were on. And I had to chug prune juice cause my constipation was bad.

sleepymonkey and littlelion good tips! My doc said to take opposite time of day as my prenatal, which I usually take at night, but maybe I'll flip it around. I'm also pretty constipated already so I'll have to up the fiber, too!
ETA: my doc suggested "slowFE" as a brand and it's supposed to be gentler for GI, we'll see! I'm not usually very sensitive to vitamins so hopefully it with this either!

wannabmama - My OB suggested slowFE as well but I couldn't find it in stores so I just took Nature Made brand iron. I never had issues with the Nature Made and I am pretty sensitive to vitamins.

wannabmama, most supplements don't usually bother me but this pregnancy, I haven't even tolerated my gummy vitamin well. I take Target generic slowFE off and on when not pregnant and it is definitely easier on my stomach than the regular. Citrucel daily really helps with the constipation, though, if you have problems!

How the hell did I not realize Target had a generic slowFE??
When do you start knowing which body part is attacking you? I'm feeling bigger and bigger movements, but still no clue if it's feet, arms, head, etc.
In past pregnancies when my babies have poked their butts out I feel a lot of pressure as apposed to an actual kick or roll.
Maybe that's what I'm feeling when I get a bunch of pressure! With DD, I really have mostly rolls and kicks/punches. But this kid, I get a lot of feelings of pressure in my abdomen. It used to be down low but in the past few days, it's been higher. Maybe that means baby boy has finally flipped from butt down.
sleepymonkey, with my last pregnancy, DS2 was facing my spine for most of my pregnancy. I never felt lots of kicks but I always felt tons of pressure. The same was true with my first pregnancy. I remember lots of pressure and not a ton of kicks.
With my DD, she would kick and stretch her entire body and my stomach would change into a weird shape and it looked like an alien trying to escape. She was extremely active.
I'm trying to find a polite way to stop talking about certain topics with my coworker. I'm the analyst on one project. He's not part of that project, but it is related to our other project (we're both on). He likes to start talking about the project I'm on and getting down into detailed questions about what we're doing or not doing. Dude, I've got it. We're not at the point of these details yet. I finally told him today I'm on that project to handle all this, so don't worry. Normally I don't mind people providing helpful input, but he doesn't know how to have a short conversation so it goes on and on forever.

Hi, ladies. Happy Monday!
I can only ever tell what body part is what if it's a butt or a head. And then I can only tell that it's one or the other. Sometimes I can tell if there's an arm or leg but not which it is. I'm just not that skilled at figuring it out.

Currently adding up how much it's going to cost to buy all the things we want to buy before the baby is here. Then I'll have to go back and decide what we can part with. I am not a fan of this process and would much rather just buy ALL the things.
We found out we are having a girl last week and I need to go through all of DD's old clothes and see what I want to keep. We are moving from NE to TX this summer so I know I can get rid of all the heavy winter stuff. Even at its coldest in TX it is too warm for those things. I plan to sell them all at a huge consignment sale in CO where my mom lives. I asked her if I prep everything if she would be willing to just drop it off and pick it up.

I've had a spreadsheet going for a while now. It's definitely not fun seeing the big number but I figure it's better to see it now and try and reduce it than spending a crazy amount of money without knowing, which would be so easy to do.

I just made a spreadsheet version of our registries plus the things not on them I plan to buy myself. I'd rather know, but it's still intimidating. And we're going fairly minimal!
As an anecdote, in talking with the pediatrician this morning (who I've decided we'll be going with), she mentioned how she loves the baby boxes Denmark (and now New Jersey) give out because you really don't need all the things. Just a safe place for baby to sleep, something for them to eat, a way to contain the poop, and a car seat if you drive them around. I keep reminding myself the rest is fluff and nice to have to make life easier.
We chose our pediatrician! Or at least, I don't see anything about her to cause H to veto when I give him the rundown of my interview with her this morning. Her philosophies on some of the bigger things (vaccinations, antibiotics, feeding solids, breastfeeding) fall in line with us. And she said her overall approach is to provide us with all the information and knowledge and support our decisions. She's also younger and was very easy to talk to. The office is nice, too. They do Skype appointments if you can't make it in, which is a convenient option.

oooo Skype appointments are real nice! I wish my office did that.

This is a good point. There are definitely a lot of "want" rather than "need" things on my to-buy list- Baby does not NEED 3 changing pad covers, but man is it more convenient than washing one or two every other day! etc. Really, we have everything that I feel goes in the "need" category for this baby already, but some stuff (like a stroller which works for both kids) will make my life so much easier and some stuff (nursery decorations) I really had my heart set on getting!
So hopefully we can find a way to get everything on our list, but at the end of the day, the above is a good reminder that we will be fine without.

Totally with you. There are things I want because they will make life easier. But I keep reminding myself we'll be fine if we don't get everything. And we can always go out and buy something (or Amazon Prime it) if we feel we really need it at the time.
marshian, that's a good way to think of it. We are staying pretty minimal too and getting a bunch of hand-me-down stuff. We have most of the basics now - crib, mattress (need sheets), car seat, diapers, breast pump, and clothing... so I guess I really shouldn't stress too much about the other stuff.

Insulated coffee cup is life. But with second baby I also have realized I need some self care and for me that's breakfast. She can fuss for a few minutes while I finish. (All-out screaming is where the insulated cup is handy)
