My baby girl slept all the way through the night in her crib!! Insert dancing, celebrating gifs galore.
She went down around 9, woke at 5:15 to quickly nurse, then went back down and she's actually still asleep!! I heard her whine 2-3 times this morning but she has fallen back asleep before I got in to her.
I'm so happy that I'll be able to not lie for the first time ever when the pediatrician asks me this week about where D sleeps. Of course, she'll probably still give me shit about the fact that the baby is still swaddled because she always finds something.
Eta: in case I haven't explained the context of why I'm so excited about this...DS never (to this day) slept flat on his back anywhere, not once. I started tummy sleeping him at 3 months old out of sheer desperation and always felt shitty about it.

Night two of not nursing to sleep/putting down drowsy but awake I think can be considered a success. I only had to lie with her for 20 minutes and she didn't cry at all. She woke at midnight and 3:30, but slept until 8. Soooo go baby? This is huge for us. FX it's not a fluke.
I'm so sorry vinolove for the bad sleep. DS was a horrible sleeper from day 1 and still has his moments to this day.
dashook, I always lie to the ped about where L sleeps too. I don't need the lecture or looks when I tell them we co-sleep so I've always lied. I really wonder what they would say if I told the truth? I think it's like telling the dentist that you floss everyday.
Pretty normal Monday for me. Trying to get ahead on a few projects at work and for once I have zero meetings! We have friends coming over for dinner tonight and I'm making steak and shrimp fajitas! They are moving back to CA in a few weeks and tonight was the only night out H's have off between now and when they leave. They have a little boy who was born beginning of Dec, so I'm sure it will be a busy evening, but I love those moments!
Also, J has some chaffing going on where his double chin and chest meet. Poor kid. It's so red and almost looks raw. What's the best for that? Aquaphor? Diaper rash cream?
I put her eczema cream on it every diaper change and try to keep it as dry as possible. At bedtime after the cream has absorbed I also put a layer of diaper rash cream. Its always cleared by the morning and then angry again by nighttime. There is so much drool and so many (adorable) folds that sometimes I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle.

Oh man tjanca22, fajitas sound so amazing right now. I would kill for some Mexican food and a margarita. Have so much fun with your friends and I hope work is super productive with your lack of meetings!!

thanks! I have never put diaper cream anywhere but on a baby's butt. I'll try it. And yes, so many folds and chins. He always has dried spit up or drool tucked away somewhere!
I put that shit everywhere. Any hint of redness? Boom. Triple paste.
vinolove I'm with you for crappy sleep. Does she have reflux by chance? I can't remember who else does. I read an article yesterday about reflux and sleep and sleep training. It was kinda eye opening. So many things resonated with E. Paging other reflux and poor sleepers sophiegrace (although sounds like maybe not after last night), tgrimes1980, maybe waitwhat?
So I know we all have been complaining about our hair. My problem has been that it is so heavy and lacks movement and just feels gross (in addition to annoying amounts of hair loss). I've been switching shampoo every time I shower and washing every other or every 3rd day (used to be every day). Still weighed down. Got my hair cut. Still weighed down. I don't use products otherwise. I was going to get new brushes or try to clean my straightener soon. And if none of that worked, I was just going to chalk it up to post pregnancy awesomeness.
But my next experiment was to change shampoos again. So I did that today. And I added in scrubbing extra hard. I haven't been scrubbing that hard because I didn't want to lose more hair and it's so annoying to take all that extra time to pull hair off my back, my legs, my shoulders, the tail itself. Well, it worked. My hair is actually moving and feels nice on my hands, and looks better. Guise, I just wasn't washing my hair good enough. I feel like a child who doesn't brush their teeth correctly or something. I swear I'm an adult.

C is 20 Weeks old today 😭. He's such a big boy. I can't believe it. This is also my last full week home with him. I go back to work next Wednesday. I'm already crying at the thought of not being with him all day. I've been trying to process how our routine will be changing and trying to figure out what the best way will be to do it all. I'm just not ready for it.
I also got the head ultrasound results posted on the online portal but still waiting for the pediatrician to call. It says there's "benign extra-axial fluid" and I googled it just trying to visualize what it meant and a study popped up linking it to an increase risk of autism if it doesn't resolve itself by 18 months. I'm trying not to be worried about it since there's nothing that I can really do anyway and everything else about him is fine, but I'd like to hear it from her.
goldenlove3 Anything new for her sleeping? Well I've decided that tonight I'm going to try and swaddle her after she falls asleep, and after her first feed at night I'm just going to rock and comfort her instead of putting her on the boob. She is over 17lbs so she doesn't need to eat every hour.
I'm gonna need everyone's collective prayers and good ju ju. I don't know if it is going to work but I do know that I something has to change.
I'll definitely be sending you some sleep juju tonight! Hopefully you can get some sleep!
goldenlove3 that is crazy how those two things would even be connected? Like how? I hope you get a call soon from the pedi and you get some peace of mind.
I have no idea honestly. It did say that there needs to be a repeat study done before it can be conclusive so it might just be something that is normal that we just don't see often because head US are not routine.
Re: the pedi asking where they sleep. We lie. And we quickly realized through talking to friends that everyone else does too. Not that it makes it ok but don't need the judgement. Although my pedi had no problem with RnP sleeping for AV if needed.
hangry Yeah the pedi does/did think AV has reflux and at first I thought so too, then not, now I do again. I've been trying to lay her to sleep on her back for the past 1-1.5 weeks. Well now here we are with the weirdest sounding congestion, like vocal cord changes and general nasal stuffiness that you can't really suck out w the Frida or bulb. I thought maybe her cold was coming back but she seems fine! And it really almost disappears during the day (I let her sleep in the bouncer). So last night I put her back in the RnP and she gave me the best sleep she has in a while (7:30-10:30, 10:40-1:40, 2-4:30). But dumbass me, when she woke at 4:30am I fed her and laid her down on the bed with me. Within 15 minutes she was struggling to breathe through her nose and was all stuffed. I picked her up and put her in the RnP and she went back for an hour. My neighbor says her daughter had reflux and they had congestion symptoms. So I have no clue what I'm going to do. I'm gonna go back and read the sleep training article.
sophiegrace Just had enchiladas and a margarita for lunch! Shhhh don't tell my employer (jk they have a one drink at lunch max). They just opened a new Mexican place and H and I enjoyed a mini lunch date. AhhhMazing!
D is extra sleepy today. She's awake for like an hour and 45 before she morphs into a crankpot. Whatever, kid. If you're tired, go ahead and sleep.
Speaking of sleep, I'd love a nap today but not sure of the timing. DS is out with MIL right now so I could try to lay down during the nap D is about to take. Problem is not knowing how long she'll stay down or what time the toddler is coming back.
Alternatively, I could work out now, and then if DS naps later I could lay down then. I know which one is clearly the more responsible choice lol but that isn't necessarily the one I want to choose!
Also, J has some chaffing going on where his double chin and chest meet. Poor kid. It's so red and almost looks raw. What's the best for that? Aquaphor? Diaper rash cream?
D's neck folds were red and accompanied by a funky smell so I used a little bit on Monistat cream. It clears things up quickly. If it's just red I think Aquaphor would be good to use.

So jealous of your one drink kleigh. I don't drink when I'm home alone with the kids and when I'm teaching again that would get me instantly fired. But damn there are days I want a drink!!
dashook D sounds a lot like Lilah today. Sooo cranky and tired. She's already on nap #3 of the day. I hope you figure out how to have a nap.
vinolove Enjoy your treat! You definitely deserve it after the sleep hell you've been in. I'm going to sound really stupid...what exactly is a Skor blizzard?
hangry One of the reasons I don't think Lilah has GERD is because she sleeps on her back so well. We have lots of spit up, gas, and congestion but she is happy and goes in her pnp just fine. I'm starting to wonder if it's a sensitivity. Lillian was allergic to milk until 15 months.

I hosted a playdate this morning so I was busy cleaning or hosting until 1:30. Makes for a quick day! I'm going to pick up DH in a little over an hour. Lillian really wants to play out back, but a neighbor found a 5' rattlesnake in their yard a couple nights ago so I'm paranoid. I need to mow again before I'll let her run around again. And even then I'll be walking the perimeter first. Just a peril of living in Texas. Though I've only seen one maybe 2-3 times in my life and I've lived here for 29 years.
I'm making falafel tonight! I've never done it before, but I'm excited to try. It'll be baked so less calories than the traditionally fried kind. Yum!
On the other hand, oh hell to the m'fkn NO to playing outside where there was recently a 5' rattlesnake!?!!! I know I'm a Yank and not used to that, but holy hell that would freak me out.
