I think I might have the flu. I feel like I've been hit by a bus. Fever and achy, along with typical cold symptoms. Ugh. (Go ahead with your "I told you so" since I didn't get the vaccine.) B got the vaccine, and is also sick. But I would assume we both have the same thing right, since it came on at the same time? Do I just make sure to push lots of fluids and let it run its course? B is feeling much better than I am it seems, which makes sense with the vaccine. I'll have to sanitize the hell out of this house when we are done.

I'm sorry you are both sick. It sounds like the flu and could be a different strain that what was in the vaccine. I've heard of some docs prescribing tamiflu, but otherwise lots of water and rest. I hope you all feel better soon.
DH decided not to go to work today because apparently he's been having dizzy and lightheaded spells so he is going to see the doctor. And since he's home I made him take H to preschool for me. S has her post op appt in an hour, but she's still sleeping so I will wake her up soon. My tummy still feels a little off but otherwise I'm feeling better than I was yesterday.
trtlcrzy glad you're feeling better, hopefully your husband's dizziness is nothing serious.
V has been waking up at 6am lately so I think it might be time for a later bedtime. I wake up at 6:15 for work and want those last 15 mins of sleep! Otherwise I've got a sore throat and work has been a monster. Just trying to get through this week.
So not used to mornings, so very tired. Also DS has been waking up way too early, like 3-4 hours early, so he's been crying as I've been leaving for work (my MIL comes to our house to watch him)

Are you going to go try and get some tamiflu? Urgent care should be able to test for flu and then prescribe you some.
tkford216 there are soooo many people here who have had the flu vaccine and tested positive for either A or B. So that's not why. Also, many kids aren't getting it as bad. A couple of my coworkers children had it and they rendered soooo much better than the adults. My coworker was wiped out hard. It's just been a hard year. Keep up on fluids for both of you.
Morning! I'm at work. I have to go get DS from preschool in about 15 min and drop him back off at daycare. I have a meeting right at noon so I'll be eating lunch a little bit later than normal, and I'm already hungry. Grr. Tonight I need to pack a bag for my work conference. I have kids to see throughout the morning tomorrow (work) and then we're leaving right around lunch. I think there's 5 of us going total but just me and one other girl are going together. She's my work person.
Also, DH is already bringing up going back to Mexico so he can fish there again. Some of our friends (his fishing buddies) are interested in going. Like last night he legit asked me if we can plan to go in December. Already this December. Dude, we just got back. Totally not even on my radar. And of course my mind just floods with what if I wanted to get pregnant, what if I am pregnant at that time, etc. I know if I bring that up he'll shoot it down and it always leads to the topic of us having more sex, and not for the purpose of getting pregnant. If I agree to go and we talk and decide that after the trip we could try, but that just seems like an eternity away. His mind doesn't work like mine, fishing is all that's on his radar and he's got blinders and doesn't see anything else about the future.
Sorry for the ramble. Yesterday I told him no, December is a terrible time because it's so busy for me at work, home, Christmas parties, DS's birthday, hosting Christmas, etc. Not to mention asking someone to care for our kids during a busy time. And all he came back with was if we go in early December? 🤦🏻♀️🙄
I know most people would welcome a trip to Mexico but it's just a whole other ballgame when you've got kids. It gives me anxiety.

I'm finally rid of the pounding headache I've had all day. Just in time to leave work for the dermatologists office for skin cancer screening. Such an exciting life I lead.
DH roped me into baking a cheesecake for his boss's birthday tonight, so that will be fun while trying to wrangle kids and clean the house in preparation for us going out of town on Thursday. I can't eat the cheesecake, but at least I can lick the bowl.

Anytime I have to make a dessert for a potluck, I bake something I can cut into pieces and put it on another plate so I can always steal one or two unnoticed :-)
Person in front of me paid for my Starbucks! I will pay it forward next time I go.
Was it you who mentioned the iced almond milk cinnamon macchiato? or whatever it is? I tried it last week and I'm obsessed. I'm not a fancy drink girl but it's SO GOOD.
I've probably spent more on iced coffee than I have in gas the past 2 weeks.

Today is one of those days that I've wasted all of nap times doing whoknowswhat (showering, eating, and watching Ellen, actually) and will end up scrambling to get a bunch done in the 30 minutes between H saying "leaving now" and arriving home. YOLO.

Yea the flu wasn't too bad around here all season, and then suddenly the last few weeks, boom everyone is sick. It's crazy. And I think part of the problem is it appears as though it's just a cold in the littles, so people are still taking them out and the infection keeps spreading. Bah. Come on, spring!
chocolate I would shoot down the December trip too. If anything I'd want to wait and go in Jan or feb. Have you guys had the talk about #3 at all yet?
Hmm yes and no. The only talking we've done was a conversation of him acknowledging that I wanted another, and he wasn't opposed or totally ruling it out, but he had a couple concerns. 1) the time, as in what if all 3 of our kids play hockey and that's a crazy schedule he can't keep up with due to his business, and 2) the bedroom situation in our house and potentially getting a new house.
Yes, the hockey schedule was a legit concern of his. 🤦🏻♀️ I explained you don't rule out a child just in case they might want to play hockey. And seriously, are all of our kids going to play hockey? Who fricken knows. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ But he and his 2 siblings did and they were all good so it does require a lot of traveling and attention. But still. Face.palm.
So other than that convo of it's not off the table but here's my concerns, we haven't ventured it as far as timing or anything. I know it's not on his radar right now. I mean DD did just turn 1 and it was a fast year so that's understandable.
chocolate a girl on my other bmb has older kids in multiple sports: hockey, gymnastics, etc. and although the schedule is crazy she makes it work (and her 3 year old is along for the ride). She's also a full time middle school teacher. I wouldn't let that argument convince me, tbh. Also DS is already 4, by the time baby 3 hits middle school and crazy sports schedule he will be driving. And eventually will graduate from high school, well before #3 gets to HS. And maybe one of your kids won't be interested in sports, you never know. I vote you get KU later this summer (because my vote counts). That way R will be a little over 2 when the next one is born.

Oh gosh, I definitely wouldn't let those reasons convince me. Lol. I was totally side eyeing him. Sports and hectic school day schedules are a temporary phase of life, and you don't have any idea what interests your child will have. It doesn't scare me off. I know that if I brought up having another child, like getting pregnant relatively soon, he'd most likely shoot it down. And it's not something I want to do without him being on board with me. So I might end up waiting until DD is closer to 2 or turned 2. Just something we'll have to discuss and maybe both compromise a bit on the timing. It wouldn't be terrible to wait until 2 so that they were about 3 years a part again because then DS would be off to kindergarten. I'm also for selfish reasons just want to get it over and done with. There's pros and cons to both doing it sooner and later.

If you wait till after she turns 2 then you can ttc with me! Lol.
