With all due respect, have the conversation now. It's always easier to head things off than to wait for them to fester. If I have learned one thing from therapy, it's that communication is key and not just communication when things are bad and you just can't take anymore. Communicate, communicate, communicate. All. The. Time.
I know, I just hate confrontation. And it will likely turn into a fight if I do it after work because we are both exhausted. But it has to be done...
Getting everyone sleeping might need to become priority #1 and then communicating your needs once you're all feeling better.
comicSans just have them cut it with scissors. He won't like it but he's at the age of distraction. My DS did well until about 18 months. He doesn't like the clippers either but I found he does better for my H so he takes him. He gets his cut every 6ish weeks.
DD would be sitting on her hair by now if it hadn't been cut. It would definitely be uneven as well. She rarely lets me put it up in any way so if it get too long it's a pain.
jennyinheaven Hey, what's up? I hadn't seen you around here the last few days and thought of you.
Hey I'm around. DD is a month away from her third birthday and is so true in our case that three is a lot worse then two. She has been a nightmare, I've been doing tons of time outs and just trying to not to lose my shit on her. Also a friend just had a major operation so I've been cooking for them and helping with their two boys. How are you?
Eliza's hair is super long, down to the middle of her back. We got it trimmed when she was about 1 and I haven't since then. I let DD1 cut her hair to her shoulders, per her request, and I'm hesitant to cut Eliza's now. But it needs to be done. And looking at her, it doesn't look like it hasn't been cut in 2 years. It looks cute!
We are another one that hasn't ever had a haircut. It took so long to get long enough for ponytails and pigtails. Also she has the thinnest hair ever and needs to be put back as it constantly falls into her face and she hates that.
I asked her the other day if she wanted me to cut some bangs as she always wipes any loose hairs out of the way and she was mad! Like absolutely not Mommy!
jennyinheaven Sorry closer to 3 is not looking better for you. I have had some strange defiant type of behaviour just out of the blue in the last week. It seems strange because she is totally laughing her head off when she is doing something independently when she isn't supposed to (like trying to just cross the street without me holding her hand or trying to grab the keys to unlock the door- she can not even reach the lock in any way 🙄)
+1 for defiant toddler. DS now bursts into tears when the slightest thing doesn't go his way. The other day DH was chasing him and DS wanted to switch directions and DH went the "wrong" way and you might have thought the world ended.
+ whatever to defiant toddler. DS has always been pretty strong willed and defiant but it's taken a turn for the worse lately. His favourite phrases are 'i won't', 'i can't', and 'i not do it'. Oh and when i tell him no he shouts back 'NO MUMMY STOP IT'

The mummy in your post made me wonder.... does your ds have the British accent?

It's like 50/50 depending on the word and who he learned it from. He says toe-May-toe (tomato) and it makes me 😔

Yes. Peyton has taken to telling me she isn't talking to me and I need a time out.
mary97 we have a kids salon in our mall called sweet and sassy. Just like emmagk said, kid gets to watch tv, sparkle spray at the end, and they get a lollipop.

Lol yeah right kid.
DD asks if she can go to time out when I'm telling her that she's not listening. I tell her no because she's just trying to use time out to get out of stuff. So frustrating!

Dd1 has had 1 hair cut, and it was just her bangs. Her hair is so thin, and is just now starting to get to the point that that the back of it touches the collars on her shirts.
