I went running with the double stroller this morning. that thing is no joke.
I went for a walk with it this week... no jogging stoller here. The friggin hill with that thing. When we have the glider board with DS1 (all 3 on/in the stroller) I make DH push it. Lol

So yesterday DH got an insane raise at work. Apparently their company did a survey of jobs/pay across their locations and realized that his pay was way lower than it should have been.
That takes care of daycare & will hopefully help us pay down our student loans. I'm so grateful for some good news! Was definitely stressing there for a bit with all of these new bills, loss of income during leave, etc. Woo hoo!
Also, I started running again and my knees are KILLING me!!! Anyone else experience this? I've read online that it could be because of my hips (something about the changes that occur during/after pregnancy), so I've been doing some hip exercises and have gone back to walking for now.

Winnifred, That is awesome! My husband's company did that for him a couple years back and it was so great. I did get back into running and then fell as I was walking up our stairs. I broke my left ankle in 2011 and now (since I fell) there's a new bump on it, so I am also going back to walking. I'm signed up for a 5k on Saturday though. I don't tend to get knee pain, but my knees start to click when I walk up stairs after I pick up running again. I hate getting old.
I'm incredibly jealous of those of you walking/running! The snowbanks here are still a little too high for me to feel comfortable taking the kids on a walk Hopefully this snow will melt soon!!

I took a 4 hr nap. My tummy did not react as badly as last night so now I'm attempting lunch. But this has affected my milk supply. I feel no boob engorgement. I wonder if alex got anything at all when he nursed this morning.
FTM question here. How thin do you make baby food when thinning it out? The pediatrician wants us to start adding in prunes and told us to mix formula in with the baby food, but I have no idea how much.

That's different. I thought you were going to make baby food. I guess I'd add enough milk to make the baby food milk-like consistency. Which shouldn't be alot since baby food is thin already.
Winnifred my knees are killing me too, but they also were during pregnancy. I figured then it was the extra weight, and now I'm still carrying some of the weight plus all the bending and lifting of having a baby... I hope the pain goes away for both of us soon!

+1 here too!!! I got out of the house more in January than in March.

I started Cora on a few bites of applesauce a couple of days ago. She'll be 4 months on Tuesday, and I'm a rebel. She loved it. We've done about a tablespoon a day since. I'm going to move on to something else once I drag myself to the grocery store. I'm thinking sweet potato.
Winnifred that's awesome!! They did one of those just before I left, because my position should have been a lot more for all of us, but the results weren't in before I left. I'm sure they'll all be making fat $$ soon. Wah!

Nothing like a good blowout while shopping at Kohls. Got a little on my shirt. I had to change his outfit. Then he spit up all over me. Then he pooped again shortly after we left the bathroom. So he had to wait until we got home. The only positive is I was holding him rather than it getting all over the car seat.

SO, our daycare bill = our mortgage. I keep joking with MH that we could have had a fabulous vacation home the past few years and we never knew it.
I feel you! I cannot wait until August when the Au Pair starts. We will have her living with us, lease her a car, pay for her cell phone and it will still be LESS than what we are paying to send the twins to day care. Like $10,000 a year less. Day care is just way too expensive.

A couple teaspoons of formula should do it. I usually just poured some formula in to make it soupy. You want it more liquidy than thick at first, if that makes sense. They'll gag if it's too thick. Once use to you, you can start to thicken it up.

Becca, I'm surprised your pediatrician mentioned starting solids already. I thought the new recommendation was 6 months? That's awesome about the au pair though! I wish we had the extra space to house one. I've looked into the cost before, and it really is so much cheaper when you have multiple daycare-aged kids.
I had the day off work today because I had to take a midterm. I had also rescheduled DD1's yearly check-up today so I could take her. Ironically, FI forgot and made plans to help a friend, so even though I had rescheduled the appointment so that he wouldn't have to take all the kids with him, I ended up having to take all the kids with me instead. But luckily it went ok. As for DS, he barely slept last night. He was up like every hour to hour and a half. When do gas pains stop being so much of a problem? I'm pretty sure that was what the issue was.

lbonga1 , the twins will be five months already on Friday. When we saw the pediatrician two weeks ago she said she was comfortable with them starting cereal as soon as we wanted too. We started DS then and will be starting DD this weekend. Because the rice is making DS constipated we need to add in the prunes. Hope you did well on your midterm!

Wow, 5 months already?? Time is flying! We dealt with constipation with DD2 too. I hope the prunes help!

What organization did you go through, if you don't mind me asking?
lola, we are using Cul.tural Ca.re. They were great helping us through the matching process. DH has a bunch of coworkers that have used them successfully over the years, so we are hoping to have the same luck. The girl we matched with seems great so far. We've been Skyping and emailing almost weekly since January.
