Toddler and Preschooler Check-in (3/22)

Age: 13 mo on saturday

Milestones: He climbs now. Sigh. He climbed up in the recliner and was so damn proud.

Challenges: He is constantly into all the things! It's crazy!! My workout routine is toddler based. It's pretty effective.

How are you? I'm ok. H took his last dose of steroids this morning. I'm glad because He is abeeotch while on them.

QOTW: Did you do a bracket for the NCAA's? How are you doing? No, I hate basketball.

Age: Almost 4. There, I said it

Milestones: She's doing really well with writing lately. Her letters and numbers are clearer than ever.

Challenges: She's bringing everything to bed. For example, I found her toothbrush in there this evening. Obviously we noticed it missing this morning, but she had no idea where it was. She brings everything into bed - books, her alarm clock, shoes... Ugh!

Funny/cute stories: When I was pg with C, J called him Rich Romeo. I have no clue why. Now she says his full name is C Middle Last Rich Romeo! It's hilarious.

How are you? Okay. Hating my body and how much it hates me.

Anything else? Not really. Just keeping above water.

QOTW: No. We like basketball, but we're really a baseball house. We already have tickets to a game in a few weeks.

B is 13 months.

He is clapping nonstop and has finally figured out how to stand up from sitting in the middle of the floor, so the world is now his. We also transitioned to one nap as of last week and it's going well.

B and I both got influenza. It's been a rough week. Somehow it missed my H.

I had an interview for a part time job on Monday (before I came down hard with the flu). They offered it to me but I had to decline based on the schedule they wanted. I have another interview next week. I hate the idea of going back to work already, but I'm trying to keep my head up.

I don't do basketball.

Age: 2 1/4 years old

Milestones: Identifying letters and numbers. Loves pointing them out while we're food shopping and gets so proud when other people hear him.

Challenges: Toddler diet

Funny/cute stories: He was so excited to show me two dead ladybugs at the babysitters when I went to pick him up last night. Said,"Be careful, mommy. Don't step on them!" Babysitter said he was yelling at them to get up and was very concerned most of the day and would say,"I show mommy. Mommy fix." Never really considered how to explain death to a toddler. But he seemed content with just having me see them and I didn't add.

How are you? Allergies have been rough already. So tired.

Anything else? After the realization I am 40 and have been NTNP for over 7 months with out success...made an appointment for Monday with the RE I saw for D's pregnancy. Kinda nervous about it, but glad to have that.

Age: 2.5

Milestones: He's losing his toddlerness and gaining more of a little boy look.

Challenges: He bit a friend at daycare. I am hoping that's a one-off, but we bought the book, "Teeth Are Not for Biting" and we're reinforcing the message. Sigh.

Funny/cute stories: He loves washing dishes and asks to play in the kitchen sink all the time. I wish I could bottle that for his teen years!

How are you? Pretty good. Catching up on client work, so I am feeling less overwhelmed.

Anything else? We're experiencing a spring cold snap, which is both a blessing and a curse. We are ready to dig in the garden!

QOTW: Did you do a bracket for the NCAA's? How are you doing? I could not be less of a basketball person. So, nope.

@boxerific, Woohoo to being potty trained!! (I am so envious - we are nowhere close.) So scary about the tub fall. Was he ok?
