ncjulia12 I missed that you had issues with your knee. Hopefully you find help today.
Thanks! I've complained about it a lot in the health/wellness check-in, but don't know if I've mentioned it in randoms. It's really weird- 10 days fine (can run, workout, whatever) and then 4 days swollen and limping (even if I've been staying off of it).
EmMilAlly, i wore DS2 in a k'tan when i went out, but for around the house i got a lot of use out of our ring sling (mine is maya brand with the light padding in the shoulder). i found it quicker to put on than the whole k'tan rigamarole. alternate sides so one shoulder doesn't get sore.
also, if you happen to already have an ergo or similar, you don't have to buy the newborn insert- you can use a rolled up towel or small blanket instead.

Had our anatomy scan this morning. Everything is looking good and he is right on track as far as growth goes. Weighed in at 12oz. We have to go back in 4 weeks to get some better pictures of his heart, but this is really getting real now. Half baked tomorrow!

I'm doing a significant change assessment on one of my patients right now. It has triggered literally every single rap except for feeding tubes. Now I have a million reports to do for this and I hate every second of it. Doing my job properly is the worst. I can't even copy over from last quarter because everything changed. I'm never going to get this done, worst.
I wish drinking at work wasn't frowned upon. I think this is one of those days that I could really use bailey's in a coffee.
I used to put Bailey's/whiskey in my coffee on the regular before work while I was in college. I worked in a science lab and also at a sporting goods store.
i dropped the kids off at the Y so I could get some homework done. The lady was like, "where will you be?" I just replied, "lobby." Yes, I bring my kids to the gym so I can use the free wifi and have 2 hours of uninterrupted time to get assignments done.
After May I can try and exercise or swim or do something more fun. LOL
Two more weeks of lecturing for me before I turn it over for group presentations. And next week I'm simply showing documentaries, no lecture. Since I despise lecturing (yes, I picked the wrong profession) I'm super excited about it!! I would love to turn into a strictly online professor but my dept head likes to keep me in the classroom at least one class a semester.
Subway gave me TWO napkins. TWO. It's me and two young kids. Why are they so cheap with napkins? Is it really that much of a cost savings? I really want to write to corporate.

I've had lice twice and the second time had to have my hair cut super short which was not flattering for me and my seven year old self cried her eyes out all night.
I don't remember who this was to be tagged to, but avoid those little ugly bastards at all costs.

I taught my older son's co-op class this morning about Greek Mythology. Some of them thought it was really cool, so I hope I passed on some of my nerdiness on to them! I had them all read the first Percy Jackson, and a few of them are going to keep reading the series. I consider that a win! My son is one of them, although he wants to finish the second Harry Potter first. These are the moments that make having kids worth it
I got some cute stuff at the consignment sale last night, including a Minnie skirt that Kara is obsessed with already! It's also showing that I've sold 15 items as of last night, so hooray!
I started my period today, and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do to make me feel less sorry for myself.
I need to start dinner but sam woke up from his nap in a super snuggly mood so dinner is going to be late. Moments like this make me so sad to be done with babies

imavera I just told my husband yesterday that he's not allowed to read Harry Potter with our kids because he's never read it. I get that joy! Not you! You won't even appreciate it!
I totally had a giggling fit over the school intercom and had to actually stop the announcement for about 10 seconds and start over because I'm such a child. #soprofessional
Explanation: I'm doing this reading incentive thing at school where I make little astronauts with the kids' faces on them when they read a certain number of books. Yesterday, a ton of kids met their goal so I had a bunch of astronauts to distribute. So I go on the intercom to say, "I have a big crop of astronauts today" (which in retrospective, is an awkward thing to say anyway) and then call the kids to my office.
But I waited too late and all I got out was, "I have a really big c-" before I got interuppted by the first dismissal bell. And then I could not stop laughing. And had no good explanation for the kids to why I couldn't stop laughing because I couldn't tell them it sounded like I was announcing something dirty. I just told them life was sometimes funny. Which is completely true.
Luckily I had to leave right before the buses for my appointment so not many people had the chance to mock me. Maybe they'll all forget by tomorrow.
Louis has been mellow and sleepy all day and now that I've picked up Henry from daycare his little newborn eyes are wide open and his little arms are doing that orchestra conducting thing. JTTW. Here we go!
I don't have much to add today. Nothing crazy happened, all boring. Although tomorrow I will be in my classroom with 38 cheerleaders for 2.5 hours after school. Fun. At least it comes with pizza and snacks!
kristhegirl, I'm actually reading HP for the first time along with him! I know, I know. Nothing has gotten me as much rockstar parent status as him seeing how much I read in a night, though. I finished Percy Jackson in 3 nights, and he is so amazed with me. lol! I so very rarely get any cool points with my little sports guy.
DH has read them all a gazillion times, and he's happy that I'm starting to read them, too.
EmMilAlly, we still have a moby. If you want to try it, I'll mail it to you. I really liked it for the early days.
That would be amazing!!! I was just going to ask if anyone had something they were looking to sell, so of course I'll pay you for it. I didn't really want to buy new since this our last baby *cry.*
No, I hadn't posted because I don't really know if today is really progress or not. There were some kind head pats and eye rolls at my google diagnosis, but they don't know what the hell is going on either, so the PA said it was a possibility but it would be prudent to rule out some other things first.
As an attempt at short-term relief so I can run Saturday and as an experiment to see what the long-term effects are, he drained a bunch of fluid off my knee today and gave me a cortisone shot. I immediately felt better and could walk normally, but am a little sore now and really curious to what my knee will be doing tomorrow and Saturday.
He sent off fluid for lab results, just in case (where is that money flying emoji?), and if/when it flares up again, a MRI is next, or he said I could skip that and go straight to the rheumatologist since it does look to be more autoimmune related than injury.
Sooooo....we'll see! I'm at least more hopeful about it than I have been in months because I feel like I'm closer to finding out what's going on.
