Does anyone have expeiance with me ameda purley yours pump vs medela pump?
What about the freemie?
I've used medela in the past, my insurance only covers a basic kit for medela (single pump) but a huge kit for the ameda (with all the accessories). I'm leaning toward the ameda. I'm skeptical about the freemie but would love to pump with my shirt on! So if anyone has experience I would love to hear. Tia!!!

tarynleann doing a brief search in my Facebook lactation group (run by an IBLC) the ameda doesn't seem well recommended at all. I'd go with the medela. I used the medela with my first.
I don't have any experience with the freemie. But, I think it would depend on your supply. I've read it doesn't hold very much before you need to empty it.

tarynleann, I don't have any experience with the Ameda, but I settled for what I thought was the best "deal" through my insurance with my first baby and ended up having to replace my (Lansinoh) pump. It was still under warranty so it was free but it was an enormous pain, and I never hear of anyone having problems with Medela pumps, really. So in your shoes, I'd go for the Medela.

jellykat2, FWIW I got the Spectra over the Medela after reading the reviews online and because it came with more freebies through my insurance. I haven't used it yet to say how it is, though.

jellykat2 everybody in the lactation group I mentioned earlier is recommending the spectra (including the IBLC). That's what I ended up going with this time.

Im pumping with a spectra S2. I love it. It's quiet so I can pump at night without waking DH or babies and it seems to get the job done as well as the pump I used in the hospital.
I breezed through the manual for mine. There wasn't too much I needed to read, just the very basic instructions.
I'm going to need the breast pump guide for dummies. Newbie here.
I was thinking of starting a thread on breastfeeding about all of the things I should prepare in advance or do in advance or have on hand.
Do it! As far as pump manuals go...you can read the manual but you really just have to play with the settings to find what works best for you. And experiment with how long you use massage/let down mode and how long you use vacuum mode to get the most output. I'm still only producing barely enough milk for one baby so this week I'm experimenting with different settings and trying to power pump once a day.
