hikingmama222 sorry about the early morning! I hope DS continues to be happy through his snotty nose. We have DD1s friend birthday party today. It's the first time we've done one, so I hope it's fun for her. DD2 had more wakeups last night than the night before. I think it's normal to backside a little while sleep training, but it's is such a mind fluck.

hikingmama222, sorry for the early wakeup. sanibel21, DS had a couple of days of more wakeups while he was figuring it out.
Speaking thereof - DS woke up five times last night. Hungry at three of them, you could hear his stomach growling while he screamed. Has to be a growth spurt at this point. Aaaaand we left our bottle warmer at my mum's. So we have to run out today to get a new one.
Plans are to recover from yesterday's car trip, groceries, and put the furniture back, our new floors look fab.
We woke up to toddler puke. At least she waited until 7am. She's now quarantined with the tablet. We're debating do we drive back today with a sick toddler, or tomorrow as planned when one of us or possibly the baby could be sick.

Good morning. Sorry about the early wake ups and sick toddlers. Booo for puke!
We made it! It took 8 hours rather than 6 due to stopping for food and potty breaks. V did really well and don't have any accidents. We got to use the travel potty which she loves using (normally uses it when I take her running so it's kind of a novelty thing) and had a successful use at a gas station. She can be weird about public bathrooms.
Kids went to bed at 10 and were up by 7. I'll take it. A wake up from C at 230 and 6 but she hung out on the boob until 7 which was nice.
Now we are having a lazy morning until the party. Hopeful the rain clears since there is supposed to be a bounce house.

Happy weekend!
We're on our way to my sister's for my nephew's birthday party. It's a 2 hour drive, and N asked to listen to the Hamilton soundtrack. Twist my arm, kid. G slept until after 7 this morning. MH took N to swimming while G and I packed for the night. We also discovered that N can buckle himself completely into his car seat. All MH had to do was tighten it. When did he get so grown up? 😥
Went grocery shopping this morning sans DH and the baby. DH has a tummy bug and cant stray too far from the facilities. Now DS went with my ILs to go drive my SIL to her boyfriend's mom's house (about an hour away) because her bf's mom is dying of a brain tumour. DH and DD are sleeping. I feel gross today. Crampy and yucky. I'm hoping its just a bug and not the worse alternative.
C got sick two more times this morning but since then has had 2 pieces of toast and the yogurt she insisted on. So far so good, I'm just hoping nobody else gets it. We'll drive home tomorrow like planned.
We're celebrating my birthday (it's not until the 28th) and our close family friend's birthday tonight. Pretty bittersweet because my Mom's birthday is the 31st so we always celebrated together.
I hope all the sick kiddos are feeling better soon.
We schlepped the family to the salon this morning and DH and I got haircuts. I've known the ladies there for 30 years, so it's like visiting family when we go. I hadn't had a haircut since before DS was born and my hair was getting ridiculously long and blah looking. I probably had 6" cut off and it looks so much better. I wanted to donate it like I did a couple of years ago, but I didn't want to cut it any shorter than I did. I probably only needed a couple more inches, so I feel kind of bad that I didn't just suck it up and cut it shorter.
We're having family movie night at home and watching Fantastic Beasts right now. I'm glad DS just went to bed because it was hard to hear the TV with his constant "Da da da da da," which is his new sound as of today. I think DH and I are going to watch Rogue One after the kids go to bed.
DH just said he wants to go out and do something today. I suggested going to a mall that has a Build-a-Bear so that DD1 can FINALLY use the gift card she got like 3 years ago. I had to look online to see where there's one. Then DH says he'd rather take them to an indoor entertainment place (arcade, bumper cars, giant bounce house, mini golf, etc.). I told him I'd rather spend the money on clothes that the kids actually need. He really couldn't argue with that. Whew. I really didn't want to spend my day at the game place with ten million screaming kids running around. The mall may be like that on a certain level, but nothing like that place.

About to start the 6-8 hour trek back home. The party was fun and V had a blast on the bounce house and driving around in her cousin's Barbie jeep. She is being somewhat toddlery this am so I'm hopeful the drive back won't have too much drama.
I have to share my birthday gifts from last night. Without planning together everybody went with a Mom's necessities theme- chocolate, wine, coffee and money to shop.
A friend just stopped by and dropped off her Chicco stroller that she doesn't need anymore. We don't have a full-sized stroller and I really wanted one, so I'm psyched, and so grateful that she didn't want any money for it - she keeps thanking me for giving her closet space back. Haha. It's heavy and kind of a monster of a thing, but it's really nice and exactly what I wanted. I love that the handle is adjustable and DH and I don't have to bend over at all to push it. This is a problem for us, especially DH, with a lot of strollers. I cleaned it up and we're going to test it out out the mall, as soon as DS wakes up from his nap. I haven't been to a decent mall in so long; I'm kind of excited to go. The mall in my town has very few stores in it anymore. I typically do my shopping at Target or online because I can't be bothered to drive 20-30 minutes to where there are decent stores.
It's was good! Dd1 was super shy the first half which is typical but she warmed up. It was crazy with 8 toddlers in my house and opening gifts was especially crazy But overall it was good! I'm glad we did it for her. Thanks for asking:)

Coming down with a bad cold. Throats been hurting but came down with aches and chills in the last hour. Can barely get off the couch. DH is making dinner but is upset with me because I wasn't resting. Major eye rolling here. We have a baby, just got home from a trip, and all our furniture and stuff need to be moved back into the main level so we can go back to functioning. And we need to prep for work and daycare. Yes, lots of time to rest.
