I woke up at 6:00 and then baby was super active so I couldn't fall asleep again. I've been to the gym and grocery shopping already. We are about to build the crib and dresser! Lots of baby related things to do this weekend!

Being up at least 5 times to pee means nowhere near enough sleep. Currently catching up on "the catch" on Hulu sipping coffee. I have to do laundry today, but it's more of an ordeal than sounds. Generator has to run, have to put away all the clothes drying on the hanging rack and hangers, then hang all the wet clothes. Plus our washer is on its way out, due to something causing an electrical burn smell. Yay unexpected life expenses! Want to be 17 again.

Well, we went to put the crib together and the headboard has a crack. BRU is sending us a new one but it may take up to 3 weeks. The room is very small so we can't assemble the dresser until the crib is in its place so no furniture assembly today. I'm frustrated but trying to just move on to something else on the to-do list

This makes me nervous. Our BRU crib has been sitting in its unopened box for a month because the room isn't ready. We've had huge issues with the dresser. It's been returned twice. First time it was damaged and the second time they reordered it wrong (different color) we didn't want to pay for shipping but it's a half hour trip each way. Would have been better to pay the $250 at this point. I put up a fit and they are supposedly delivering this 3rd time for free. In probably a month. If the crib is damaged I might freak out!
I've never had a good experience with BRU. The one here is horrible and the staff even worse. I don't go there unless I have a gift card or that's the only place I can get it.
maggie6424 - Sorry about the washer. We keep crossing our fingers our appliances will keep on going. They were old when we bought the place. So far we've replaced the A/C-furnace (combo unit) and that was bad enough.
I finally got good sleep last night for the first time in a week. Feeling rested but it's a rainy foggy day so not much motivation. We're going to get my ring from Helzberg (for the third time), stop at Home Depot, and get the dog's nails clipped.

That is frustrating. I had that happen with something we bought very early on with ds1. Then when we realized it was broken, it had been six months and they wouldn't hear my complaints.

I got my Tdap shot yesterday and my arm is so sore. 😩
H is going to run an errand and take DD with him in a bit. I plan on taking a nap! Planning on going out for Mexican food tonight. Oh how I wish I could have a margarita!

ITA. I'm so glad we have a Buy Buy Baby nearby, and I love that there's always a 20% off coupon available.

I've never been to a Buy Buy Baby. The closest one is two hours away. I should go in there next time I'm down there though.

cheezee, I got my TDAP shot on Wednesday and my arm hurt a ton on Thursday but Friday was better and today it's normal. Hopefully your arm feels better tomorrow.
I have nothing going on today, so I'm trying to enjoy it because starting tomorrow my life gets pretty busy until the end of April. I have somewhere to be/do the next eight days which is unusual. Mostly good things, but it's a lot. And in two weeks I'm flying with my toddler to visit my brother. I'm excited and nervous about that. Then it's Easter, and at the end of the month is my BILs wedding. I got tired just typing everything out! And somehow I have to get a bunch of yard work done.

I gave in and bought a bunch of maternity underwear. I didn't last time around - the stuff I had fit comfortably under my bump, but it was already older so I threw them all out after everything normalized post-partum. The replacements are higher and getting to be crazy uncomfortable, and I just couldn't handle it anymore. I got lucky though and found a bunch in my size on sale at Motherhood maternity, so I only paid $22 for a week's worth! And my boss is reimbursing me for a new pair of maternity work pants, so basically it was a rare, successful, and non-stressful shopping trip.

I have homework I needed to do, but I didn't get very far. I feel like I don't know where the day went. The clean laundry is still piled on top of the bed, preventing me from just going to sleep for the night. DH will be gone a lot for work tomorrow it sounds like, and he was gone for most of this afternoon and evening too. Hard to get a paper finished when I'm home alone with DD. Going to be a lot of screen time for her tomorrow, unfortunately.
We got several inches of snow last night, after they called for 40% chance of flurries. I love my h for getting up with the boys most days, but the man is seriously so lazy. I am a couponer, so occasionally I get breakfast bars or oatmeal bars like belvita for super cheap. However, in my eyes they are more for "we're in a rush" days or when we have nothing else because I haven't been to the store. It's the first thing he hands them when he gets up. Even though we have eggs, tortillas, cereal and both milks, instant or regular oatmeal, etc. I know I could just get up and do it myself to solve the issue, I'm just so damn tired. Getting 5-6 hours of sleep is killing me. And if I get up, he'll go right back to sleep for another hour or so. That just adds insult to injury. We'll have a lazy day today. If the wind stays mild, I may suit up the boys and let them play in the snow.

maggie6424 I can't remember the last time DH fed DD breakfast or lunch on his own while we were at home, let alone get up with her in the morning. He's an excellent playmate for her, but care taking is not his forte.
DD has been on her tablet all morning while I work on my paper. Her tablet died, so that signaled lunch break. When she's done, I'll have to put videos on for her because I'm only halfway done. The paper is proving more challenging than I thought it would be. I thought DH would be at least on his way home from work by now so he can play with her, but I haven't heard from him all morning. And what I really hate, is that this paper is about vocabulary and language development in early childhood education. So, while I get to write about having meaningful conversations with preschoolers to build their language skills, mine has to sit on the couch watching TV so I can get it done Grad school is the pits.
applemuffins good luck finishing off your paper, and try not to feel guilty about your daughter. Sometimes I miss university and studying and researching, but most of the time I'm glad not to have that on my plate anymore!
I'm currently taking a moment to sit on the couch with apple cider while DS naps. When he wakes up we're heading to my Mom's for supper and then a music event that I'm participating in.
Tomorrow I have several piano students playing in a local music festival. For three of them it's their first time entering festival. I really hope it goes well for them!
I went to a BWI (Baby Wearing International) meeting this morning and learned how to use ring slings and woven wraps. Which I am now drooling over on the internet. I foresee a new addiction. We did multiple loads of laundry and chili is in the crockpot. All in all, a good balance of getting stuff done and relaxing this weekend.
sdlaura, teachermomtobe - Sorry for the early wake-ups! I finally slept through baby's hi-jinx today only to have my dog decide to clean herself intensely at 6:30am. Too early!
applemuffins - Sorry for the overload of homework. Power through, your DD is fine.
maggie6424 - Oh man, that's a fair amount of snow. I think we've seen the end of it here for this winter, which I am not sad about. Your H needs to figure out how to be productive in the morning.
maggie6424 DH and our au pair do the same thing with snacks for DD. I buy larabars, applesauce pouches, crackers, etc. to have on hand for on the go snacks, and they give those daily. It's annoying, but I have to pick my battles, so I generally leave it alone. On Saturday DH had opened two larabars for her, and I walked in as she was requesting a cereal bar too. I was like um, no. Of course she took like one bite of each and was done.

Seriously? I'd be so mad that they were getting wasted! At least mine eat the whole thing. But seriously if you're at home and you have tons of other stuff, why waste the expensive "convenience" snacks. Grrr.

Re: snacks, I feel the same way about single-packs of things (like Pirate's booty or Annie's bunnies) vs. pouring a snack from the large bag. The single packs are usually more expensive so I reserve them for when we are actually out of the house
sdlaura YES, plus the fact that not pouring from the large bag means we have the large bag longer and it's more likely to get stale. control freak over here.

This is a rant and I didn't know where to put it. DH is stressing out about everything and I am ready to kill him. He just keeps talking about how much we have to do even though we have a to-do list set and we have things in motion and a plan. We had a huge fight about it last night because I said he's taking all the joy out of this pregnancy for me. Today my mom asked if my aunt could stay with us for my shower in a week in a half because she is traveling halfway across the country. This means my mom has to sleep on an air mattress in the living room but she said she's willing to. Now DH is stressing about that. Instead of being grateful that my mom is throwing us this shower and my aunt is spending a lot to come for it, he just sees how it impacts him negatively. UGHHHHHH! Sorry *end rant*
