Baby Shower tomorrow! Pretty excited. It will be nice to know what else we need to buy before our little man arrives. We were skyping with my MIL and she said it looks like I've dropped, which a girl at work said too. So she thinks he's going to be coming sooner than our due date. I do feel like something has happened cause I have way more pressure in my pelvis and I think his head is pushing on my cervix because I've been getting sharp pains down there. Yay! MIL says she's likely changing her flight because she was to come on 15 April, my Mom is coming on 12 April. Due date is 19 April. We will see what happens.
How fun dannigirl! I hope you get a ton of good stuff.
We have an actually busy weekend. Reggie and I just finished puppy obedience class and he's going to be passed out for a while. J and I painted the first coat of babies room this morning and she will do the second one tomorrow. We're finally seeing Beauty and the Beast tonight. Can't wait! Then tomorrow we're test driving Subarus, yes Subaru . My lease is up soon and I think after 10 years of driving MINIs I need a slightly more family and less expensive car.

I love Subaru. I've got a 2007 Impreza hatchback. I'm trying to talk H into getting an Outback when her Toyota dies. I don't care if I'm a stereotype. (c;

Subaru owner right here lol!! Except I have a tribeca which they don't make anymore and I wish they did.
We just got home from a close to 4 hour round trip visit to my cousins to see my little cousin in the show Oliver. I used to live near them when my cousin was super little and now she's 18 and going to college next year. It was definitely the hormones but when she was singing her solo I had tears running down my face that I couldn't stop lol. She turned into such an amazing young woman! She offered to come visit in June saying she could help organize or cook for us! Not like hold the baby or just hang out. So amazing.
We also bought the rest of our nursery furniture today and did some more organizing so slowly but surely we're getting there. Also bought her coming home outfit! Super cute stuff on Gymboree right now!

My college roommate got a Subaru and she felt like you got a lot for the money.
So.....M started walking yesterday. Like walking around, not just towards someone. It's so much fun but strange to have her suddenly looking over your shoulder. We're still getting used to it.
I ran 10 miles this morning. I love Island running. First double digit run since M.
M seems to be cheering up her Great Grandmother. Yay!

cetcar walking! Eek, so exciting! We're going with the Impreza hatchback, the Forester and Outback were just too big for me. Carbride Grey is the color we like. Now we wait a few more months for my lease to be up.

JustJudy, I can see that. Especially going from a Mini Cooper. I love my car, it's a sedan. The main time that I feel like I want a bigger car is when we have all our luggage going to and from the airport. I have a Volvo.....I was just telling CET that I may be hooked on them.
So.....I like to stalk people with race times. For instance a friend's husband said he had a great half marathon this morning and had a PR. So, I looked up his race to see his results and then calculated his pace. He's fast! 6:20 minute mile! I can't imagine! My goal is a 7:30 minute pace for a half marathon and I feel like that's personally ambitious.

I drive a Chrysler minivan. This is my 3rd one and honestly, I think we will have one for the foreseeable future. When we first got it, it was so we could haul all of the crap for 2 babies. Then it was nice to have a car we could all ride in when the grandparents were here and I'd randomly have extra kids. Now, I have extra kids in my car multiple times a week. We carpool with other families to soccer and swim, so it isn't unusual for me to have 2-3 extra kids with me. I thought I'd hate being a minivan mom, but really, I love it. It's so convenient and there is room for everything we need. Downside is horrible gas mileage.
This weekend has been utterly hectic. I told L that I may have to bow out of church until fall. This morning we left the house at 8:30, got out of church at 10:30, met L for a quick brunch at 11, and were at the soccer field by 12:15. Got home from soccer at 1:40. Kids played while I made 4 doz muffins for the kids' breakfast and prepped dinner for Monday and Tuesday (L is out of town all week.) Picked up the neighborhood kids for swim at 3:15 and walked back in the house from swim at 5:45. I intend to have the kids in bed by 7:45 and not be far behind.
Thankfully, L was supportive of skipping church, although I have guilt about it since we have signed up...I'll see how long that guilt lasts. I know we are skipping next week because we invited 3 boys to spend the night Saturday night. So we will have 5 10y old boys. Ha. Ha. Ha.

Shower was great! We have such amazing friends. 😃 I am Exhausted though, and my hips/pelvis are a mess right now. I don't know how much more I can take of this.
We have a Honda Civic, and a Dodge RAM. We live in Northern Alberta.. it's like a prerequisite that you own a truck.. but also we have it to haul our travel trailer, so that's why we bought it in the first place. It's weird driving the Honda cause it's so tiny compared to the truck. Don't know how it's going to work with either vehicle with a baby.. i think with one it won't be too bad, but if we have another the Honda will likely need to be traded in for something bigger. Just sucks because we just made our last payment on it this month and we own it.. no more payments! Yay!

dannigirl so glad your shower was awesome! I too had insane pelvic pain once mine was over. So crazy what a little extra standing and moving around will do!

Julie drives a Honda Fit and I have a GMC Terrain. Since having the baby my car gets driven anytime we go anywhere as a family, julie drives the fit to work. When julie gets a new car it will be a Subaru.

L has a Civic (hybrid) too. Whenever I drive it, I feel like I am sitting on the ground.
I don't think you need two large cars. L was able to get 2 car seats (rear facing, forward facing, and boosters) in her car without issue. She could also get the smaller of our double strollers in her trunk (but not the jogger) without issue. It was nice to have 1 car that fit the kids, the double jogger, and whatever else, but not necessary to have 2. Now if L is driving carpool with the neighborhood kids or her parents are in town, she takes the van and I drive the Civic.
I'm not overly worried about getting anything bigger right now, or anytime soon! We just won't be able to carpool... oh well.. maybe some day we will get a van, just need to keep the truck for the trailer.

Yeah we have one smaller car (PriusV) and my Subaru tribeca. We like having one car that gets much better gas mileage and another car that's great in the winter. Though the priusV is awesome and has a great amount of trunk space!! Highly recommend if you don't need an AWD car. ☺️

cetcar, Wow, granted I know nothing about legit race times, 7:30 seems like an awesome pace. I hope you make it!
2brides, J will totally be the minivan mom, or at least the large SUV mom. We, like dannigirl, have to have a vehicle to tow our travel trailer. I'm so impressed you've been going to church with your already busy schedule.
dannigirl, Yay for a great shower. They can be so fun with the right people.

Loved all these posts! We have an 2005 Toyota Corolla with 263,000 miles and a 2006 Scion xB with 102,000 miles. We'd love to get a Subaru one day if we could afford one!

Your Corolla sounds quite similar to ours. That's the one I'd ideally like to upgrade to a used Outback once it bites the bullet.

There should be a poor lesbians scholarship fund for Subaru's! 😂😂

We are doing the great car debate right now. I have a Pathfinder and she has a Jetta. We are thinking of doing a compact SUV and a truck. Waiting to pay them off first... maybe...
