What's new with baby (size, development)? Rollerblade. Baby is starting to be able to distinguish my voice from DHs (or some studies say.) roughly 2.5 pounds
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Girl
Name? None yet. DH thinks it's amusing to give the most off the wall suggestions- couch, fan we 2 recently. No joke. Never any actual name suggestions. And this should probably be added to my todo list (come up with a top 3)
Any upcoming appointments this week? Wednesday is my 28 week appointment and my glucose testing (1 hour)
Any new symptoms or changes? TMI: I think the varicose veins in my groin area are spreading. Yesterday they hurt soooo bad. My hernia probably doesn't help this at all. I'm super crabby a lot lately and incredibly emotional. The dumbest things make me cry. (yesterday- DH said, I didn't get the text about c being awake until I got home. You should just call if I'm in the shop, especially if I have to have the garage door closed. Sorry buddy, I didn't realize you were in the shop. I had no idea how long forming parts in the next town over would take.)
Rants/Raves/Questions? We picked out our new car. We were approved as soon as the salesman hit enter for a loan. Hopefully we can sign final loan documents and make downpayment tomorrow evening. We also decided to hire our neighbor who is a contractor to redo the nursery for us. He came Thursday to look at the room. Next up, seeing when he can start and picking out new trim, closet doors, regular door, ceiling fan, built in bookshelves, carpet (anything else I may be forgetting)
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Picked out a new car, does that count? Otherwise nope.
Anything else you might want to add: my oldest niece is graduating high school in June. Her grandma (on her moms side) is planning her graduation party. That's fine, but she asked me and my mom to help. When we met up yesterday she basically had everything planned out. Including the date of the party. We were given 2 choices but she was highly suggesting just 1 of those 2. Chances are I won't be attending. I will either still be in the hospital, have a brand new newborn or will be going in for my c-section the very next day. I was really hoping to get her to have it in July so I could 100% make it. Her excuse is there are too many mosquitos in July. Umm there are just as many in June and this year will be awful no matter what because we never got cold enough for long enough to really kill them off. End rant
GTKY:favorite outdoor activity- hiking. DH and I used to go all the time. Like every weekend we would pick a new park with trails to go explore. Last summer I think we maybe went 3 times.
Me: 29 DH: 35 NTNP since May 2013 charting since June 2014 dx: Graves disease (radioactive iodine), Crohns disease (abdominal surgeries) MMC October 2015 (9 weeks) Severe MFI diagnosis July 2015

ihatepizza now I want to know where you live! Mosquitos here last all the way until freezing temps set in. Could be well into October some years!
How far along are you? 29 weeks
What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of an acorn squash. He has REM sleep
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Boy
Name?
Any upcoming appointments this week? Tuesday. Getting Rogham shot and maybe tdap, I can't remember. Going to appointments every 2 weeks after this. Not really looking forward to that, but glad it's getting closer!
Any new symptoms or changes? Pelvic pain has really come back with a vengeance. It hurts a lot when I try to roll over, or get in and out of bed, or go from sitting to standing, etc. And when I'm standing/walking, it feels like he's rubbing on my cervix sometimes.I guess he must be quite low, which will hopefully make labor go faster this time. DD was high, and I even had to labor down for a little bit waiting for her to drop. I feel like I could be due any day at this point with this LO, but still 11 weeks to go. I worry I wont be able to co tinue working up to my due date like I planned.
Also, I have no idea what baby D was doing, but he was moving somehow and it was SO painful. It felt like a big Charlie horse on the inside of my abdomen where he was pushing. Wtf. I never ever had that happen with DD. At worst, she was annoying when she had her foot in my rib, but thats about it.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Bought some more baby stuff, which is exciting. I got the arms reach co sleeper! I'm letting our neighbors use it to see if it helps them with their 2 month old baby who cries all night sometimes. Also bought my k'tan.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Not really. It was a really long week, for some reason. Well, I guess I bought 2 body pillows and a pregnancy support belt, but thats not so fun.
Anything else you might want to add:
GTKY: favorite outdoor activity. Camping!! We didn't get to go last year and I'm still bummed about it, especially since I won't really be able to go this year either. DH is going to take DD on a daddy daughter camping trip with a neighbor and his daughter. I'm jealous, but happy for DD to get that special time with daddy too.
What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of a summer cantaloupe, a little over 3 pounds.
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Girl
Name? Charlotte or Ava
Any upcoming appointments this week? OB appointment tomorrow.
Any new symptoms or changes? Nothing new- same old uncomfortable 3rd tri stuff
Rants/Raves/Questions? Just tired and MIL and FIL are driving me insane lately. I'm much slower than I was and it's hard to keep up with my toddlers. What I would give for one day to myself!
Did you do anything for yourself this week? No
Anything else you might want to add: This pregnancy feels like it's slowing down now. I'm hoping this baby comes around 37-39 weeks. I really don't want to have to wait all the way to 40 weeks. God forbid I go over 40 weeks! I've never gone over, but watch this baby make me wait.
GTKY: favorite outdoor activity. I love all outdoor activities! Hiking, camping, fishing, anything. I love just going for a long run outside too. Can't wait for summer!
How far along are you? 30 weeks 1 day. WHAT THE HECK?!
What's new with baby (size, development)? Cantaloupe/ Platypus
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Boy
Name? Maybe William Matthew
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope
Any new symptoms or changes? Nada
Rants/Raves/Questions? Time. Is. Flying.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Nope but I think I want to schedule a massage. I can feel my back and hips tightening up. They did wonders last time around.
Anything else you might want to add:
GTKY: favorite outdoor activity. Just hanging out outside. BY the pool, on the farm, doesn't matter.

27+2 Camping lantern and hiccupping like a drunk. Boy Lincoln James unless we find another we like more. No appointments I'm starting to become a bottomless pit from waking up til about 4. Then I'm not hungry at all. A few weeks ago, I splurged and signed up for the 21 bundles box. I got a "stretch mark" lotion by Yorba. While don't believe in products preventing them, it smells and feels divine. It's organic and really moisturizes. I have a massage scheduled for today! I like walking outside or hiking. Swimming is fabulous.

violetrose, I have also never gone over 40 weeks and will not know what to do with myself if it happens this time. DD was born at 40 weeks on the dot and DS was born at 38+2. My OB offered to induce at 39 weeks but I have strong feelings about letting baby come on his or her own in the absence of a medical issue. But we'll see if I change my tune if I go over 40. I do hope to make it close to there, though, since DD was a bigger, happier baby and better sleeper and was born at an older gestational age than DS.
How far along are you? 29 weeks today
What's new with baby (size, development)? Acorn squash, muscles and lungs maturing
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Not finding out
Name? TBD. Katherine is our front runner for a girl and my mom just told me that her great grandmother was named Katherine. She had 7 kids, one of whom was Violet, and DD's middle name is Violet.
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope, had my 28-week last week. Now we're in the every 2 week appointment cycle so I'll go back next week. The only available appointment was on a day when preschool is closed and I'm home with the kids. I think they'll be excited to go to my doctor with me since they've never been.
Any new symptoms or changes? Just feeling large and more swollen. But otherwise I feel fine.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm excited that I put together the rock n play and found all the clothes I want to wash (I'm taking the advice of this board and washing all the newborn and 0-3 for both genders). Rant - I recently won a new client based a couple states away. I did not reveal that I was pregnant during the bidding process. The last time I saw them in person was in late January. I told them on Friday that I wouldn't be able to attend their May meeting in person because I'm expecting a baby and can't fly then, and offered them three great other options (my coworker attends and I call in, we do the meeting two weeks earlier and I'm there in person, etc.). I assured them that I'll stay involved during my leave and be back full-time after. And the main guy called my male coworker to freak out about how I'm going to be out during "this important time for building the relationship." Ugh. And people wonder why working women hide their pregnancies at work. I have to call the guy today and try to smooth things over. None of my current clients batted an eye about my leave since they know we work in teams and they know I'll stay involved.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Does date night Friday count? We have had an every other Friday night babysitter for years who recently got a new full time job and went back to school, so she's not going to babysit anymore. Luckily DD's old preschool teacher was happy to pick up the job so we get to keep our date night. It's nice to have it pre-scheduled because even if we don't have any big plans and are tired from the week, it sort of forces us to go out together and catch up without the kids.
GTKY: favorite outdoor activity. Hiking. We've just started to do some more hiking again now that the kids can do short hikes. There's a really neat slot canyon hike near us that we like to do. The kids can actually make it up the slot canyon better than a lot of the adults we see trying to do it. I don't think my belly would fit through at this stage though!

applemuffins, I'm in Canada, more specifically northern Ontario. We have a horrid black fly/ mosquito season in May but they start to die down when the warmer weather hits. By July/August they are virtually gone. My to do list involves screening in our sun porch because I don't want to deal with those buggers with a new born
Me: 29 DH: 35 NTNP since May 2013 charting since June 2014 dx: Graves disease (radioactive iodine), Crohns disease (abdominal surgeries) MMC October 2015 (9 weeks) Severe MFI diagnosis July 2015
What's new with baby (size, development)? Head of cauliflower
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Boy
Name? Finnegan Louis (nn Finn)
Any upcoming appointments this week? None
Any new symptoms or changes? Lots of cramping and BH
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: I love feeling him move. He moves so much that I never have to worry. DD hardly moved and I would have to go in for monitoring. Also, I had $15 in rewards from BRU and almost got a box of diapers for free. Rant: My mother always finds at least one thing to criticize about my appearance every time I see her. Then, she wonders why I never want to come over.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? I went to trivia with friends on Thursday.
Anything else you might want to add: I can't believe I have less than 3 months now. Time is flying!
GTKY: favorite outdoor activity: Simply going on nature walks. DD loves it too so it is a nice Mommy and me activity I can still do when I am tired and pregnant
PA Mom, I feel the same way with this LO. My DD hardly ever moved (or I hardly ever felt her) and this baby boy is SO active all the time. It's so neat to experience this this time around! Love the name you picked out BTW
Me: 29 DH: 35 NTNP since May 2013 charting since June 2014 dx: Graves disease (radioactive iodine), Crohns disease (abdominal surgeries) MMC October 2015 (9 weeks) Severe MFI diagnosis July 2015
ihatepizza, lulu783,it was a random name selection. We knew his middle name would be Louis after my father, but DH and I could not agree on a first name. I randomly suggested Finnegan and he liked it. It took some time to grow on me, but I really love it now. DD is Bridget so it goes well as an Irish sibset (who just happen to be mostly Italian LOL). DH and I both have Irish names and take after the Irish sides of our families with our features, but we are both mostly Italian.
Any upcoming appointments this week? Had my 1 hr glucose test and appointment yesterday.
Any new symptoms or changes? Not really.
Rants/raves/questions? I really just need to find some motivation to get stuff done around the house!
Did you do anything for yourself this week? I stopped and got a donut from my favorite donut shop on my way home from my doctor appointment yesterday (and didn't get any for H or DD).
GTKY: We love hanging out by the pool and swimming. We have an in ground pool in our backyard. I'm hoping for an easy delivery this time around so I don't have to miss out on too much swim time with DD this summer!
What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of a cantaloupe or motorcycle helmet? Are those the same size?
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Don't know.
Name? Undecided
Any upcoming appointments this week? Just a regular appointment
Any new symptoms or changes? I have had a pretty big increase in Braxton Hicks contractions over the past week or two. They don't hurt, but it still makes me extra vigilant.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I think that I really "popped" this week and suddenly look much more pregnant then I have so far. I'm getting lots of comments.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Prenatal massage
Anything else you might want to add
GTKY: favorite outdoor activity: walking, playing with my dog
Post by applemuffins on Mar 29, 2017 6:05:45 GMT -5
I can't remember where we had the Rogham shot convo, but I got mine yesterday and it was in the butt like you guys said! I seriously don't remember that from before. But it didn't hurt too bad and I'm not sore today, so there's that.

You are brave! That sounds terrible. I wonder why that is preferred to arm or leg?
Post by applemuffins on Mar 29, 2017 6:46:00 GMT -5
It was more awkward than anything, but not super horrible. Didn't have to pull my pants like all the way down or anything, just the top of the cheek. But still awkward lol I would have chosen my arm if I had been given a choice, even if it would have been more painful! I could swear I got it in my arm the 1st time.
How far along are you? 28 weeks (officially third trimester by any app/calculator)
What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of a coconut or rollerblade or Chihuahua. Baby is blinking!
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Not finding out
Name? TBD
Any upcoming appointments this week? Friday for 28-week appointment and GTT.
Any new symptoms or changes? Getting more RLP when I'm active (walking fast, playing tennis). Lower back gets sore more quickly. I might be getting rosacea spots on my cheeks? I'm going to ask the midwife this week.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Anyone experience pregnancy-induced rosacea? How did it appear for you? I've got two red, bumpy spots low on my cheeks. Not the typical presentation from what I can see online. Doesn't hurt. Just annoying.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Had a glass of wine when H and I went out for dinner on Saturday. It was tasty.
Anything else you might want to add: Third trimester! Only 9 weeks until baby is at term! This is insane!
GTKY: favorite outdoor activity. I love tennis and H and I love to go hiking.
sabrinaml - Sorry your veins are hurting you! Nice on the new car! I can't stand when people make a choice which doesn't work for someone who is helping plan. Seriously?
applemuffins - Sorry for the pelvic pain. Sounds unpleasant. I've also had baby do a move where it's painful. What are they doing in there? Also, I'm finding these anecdotes of butt shots weird. I've never had one there. All upper arm. Guess I'll be asking why they're doing that if they go that way with mine.
maggie6424 - I have days where I can't seem to eat enough. Like yesterday. Then I'll be back to normal for a while. It's so weird.
sdlaura - Wow, that client needs to control his roll.
PA Mom - That's rude of your mom. I can't imagine my mom (or any close family member) doing that. Wow.
eucalyptus - I've also really popped in the last week. It's so crazy. And awesome. Not ready for the comments, though.

marshian my last pregnancy I had the same thing pop up towards the end of 2nd trimester, but only on one cheek. It went away fairly quickly after birth though!
What's new with baby (size, development)? large eggplant (yum), may be able to see light
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? girl
Name? Now DH wants Lydia Caroline, I want Caroline Elizabeth
Any upcoming appointments this week? next week, Tuesday. regular appt. when do they swab for strep b? not my favorite thing.
Any new symptoms or changes? sooo much crazy movement, and the heartburn is horrific. super tired, which isn't really a complaint - i'm sleeping better.
Rants/Raves/Questions? i know doctors are busy. but wtf to not getting any kind of call about my 3 hr GTT results?? i got them online anyway, but they don't know that! (it's through the lab, not their office.) rave: no gestational diabetes.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? still lol.
Anything else you might want to add: the next few weeks are so busy, but i really want to get baby's room organized and dig out all the baby clothes to start organizing by size. i'm really kicking myself for not doing a better job when i put them away the first time.
GTKY: favorite outdoor activity. umm. idk, i like camping and fishing and i guess hiking, but we don't do any of those things. does parking my butt on the beach with a book count?
marshian, I have one this pregnancy just to the right of my nose. It did freak me out, so I made an appointment with my derm. Too bad she's booked solid until 6/24. Oh well. I guess I will try to schedule my PP appointment with my OB that day too since they are in the same building.

Did anyone see a slight increase in blood pressure towards the end of second tri? Mine keeps jumping up a bit. The highest its been for me is 125/78. I have a cuff at home. This was after drinking a few sips of coffee and some water. It hasn't stayed there, it's jumping all over the place. Just not as low as is normal for me during pregnancy.

marshian I have it slightly on the regular. This pregnancy, it looks almost like melasma. It's red, but almost in a mask like shape over my face. I didn't have it with previous two. Hopefully it'll fade for you.
