The trip was really pretty good. DS was amazingly good given that he was hanging out next to me in an office 11 hours a day and sleeping in a hotel at night. I'm totally beat though. Being 100% on for so many days in a row plus the time change plus the kid gets up four times a night is bad news. I think this was the last age where it would really be feasible to take him with me so I'm glad I was able to go when I did. I'm thinking starting in the fall I'll set up a schedule where I'm there one long weekend a month (like Thurs-Mon or something)? I don't know.
Working has been a giant mindfluck for me because I thought I was going back to 5-10 hours a month. 20 hours a week is such a different animal. Obviously I'm super lucky to have the problem, but it's been a hard thing to figure out.
Yeah that's basically part time, not just a few hours. 11 hour days are no joke without a baby! Do you have to travel for work? I imagine that's tough with your kids appointments and preschool schedule. If it gets to be too much, say it's too much. Jobs always want more more more. In my experience.
