mosdub if you like Oryx and Crake, it's a trilogy and the next two are worth the read (though I didn't think they were as good). The Heart Goes Last is also pretty good.
I know you said no more recs but I also love "All Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury. Super short story, it's like 4 pages long? Ray Bradbury is sci-fI magic. This story does punch you in the gut tho
I had my baby on Sunday! More details later. My milk came in today, as I was starting to nurse, while my FIL was visiting. Breast milk has created more mess than LO has thus far.
Good luck erinshelley21, I hope babes can wait it out until you're done with family!
Made it through dinner with cutting out only a little early. Now have to make it home. The toddler is asleep and the baby cries of she loses her paci, but Dh is in his dad's house doing God knows what.

Live blog: Omg now he is buying lottery tickets. I don't know wtf he's smokin today lol. Sleeping toddler and hungry newborn is a delicate situation that he's about to ruin!
Irrationally pissed that the name we picked is on a good housekeeping "50 most popular names coming this year" list.
Fwiw, DD1's name was the most popular girls name last year, and we had no idea until after she was born (I wasn't looking for super unique, but I was hoping to stay out of top 10 at least). I've met maybe one, if any, kids her age with the same name though. If anything, I've met more young girls with our 2nd & 3rd choice names, which weren't nearly as popular at the time. So you never know! But I get being pissed!

@priss08 safe, fed, clean? Take a break. Babies are completely dependent on us and it is a real grind. Having a kid already doesn't seem to help. Newborns are hard work.
Also I result wish I could enjoy her baby days more. Maybe when DH's semester is over DS and him can have some not outings stop I can chill with DD more.

I totally get this. I still regularly look at baby name lists to see how popular my kids' names (and other names I like) are getting
The good news is that the top names these days aren't as widespread as the top names like 20 years ago, since people are branching out with a big variety of different names nowadays.
On the official lists from the SSA, DS' name was in the 160s the year he was born, and last year, DD's was in the 70s.
