I'm about to head to the law firm that may hire me. It's on business, not an interview. The firm is very West Coast, so dress is business casual. BUT the managing partner may have time to meet with me to discuss what my comp would look like.
Weather is cool and rainy today. But I don't have to be outside, so it's not really a factor. I brought a nice pink cashmere sweater that has a built in silky looking collar, a gray suit that has pants and a skirt, and a white silk shell. I wore a pantsuit to the interview, so I don't think I want to wear that again.
Normally I would never wear a suit to this office when I'm just being a client, but the possible meeting with the partner is throwing me off.
I think the sweater and skirt would be fine. You've had a few rounds of interviews with them already, so I don't think you have to go all in with a suit just for this meeting.
No suit. I would typically say west coast business, go for pants and a sweater, but since you're in law, I'd err on the skirt side. Although really, if you're going to be more comfortable/confident in the pants, wear the pants.

This is weird. Is it just a discussion about compensation or is it going to be an offer? (Can you have one without the other?) And are you more likely to meet with him or more likely not to? If there was no chance I was getting an offer and not likely to meet with him, I'd wear sweater and pants (and voted that way). If I was more likely to meet with him, I'd wear the suit and shell, and take the jacket off during the business mtg.

I vote pants and sweater. Even though you'll be inside, a skirt in this drizzly weather just seems odd to me. But then again, what do I know, I wear a uniform to work...lol.
Of go with whatever makes you most comfortable and confident. For me, that has more bearing on how I perform than a minuscule difference in fashion trend/etiquette. Hope it goes well!!
Lol. Sweater and skirt. I decided that I didn't want to look like I was trying too hard. Which turned out to be a good thing since I was CLEARLY being low-balled. Oh well. F them. I looked cute. They can eat their collective hearts out.
