DD said 'please' this morning. It was so cute. I almost felt bad about saying no. But she wanted to be picked up and I was busy getting ready for work.

Morning!
It's sooo gloomy here today. Maybe we'll head to the library later. I should have showered and gotten dressed while X napped this morning, but I spent it watching The Great British Baking Show instead. :\ I don't regret it.
We very randomly decided over the weekend that we'll be driving home next month for a week. It's one of my good friend's 30th birthday and I'll take any excuse I can to get home. Flights are insanely expensive, so we're just going to drive. 12 hours in a car with a 14 month old. What could go wrong, right?
Morning! H is at preschool, the other kids and I just got home a little bit ago from running errands. S is currently crying in her crib about to pass out any second (I hope). It's gloomy outside today.

Your drive will go just fine, just add about 2 hours on to your drive time for all the stops you'll need to make.

Well Dh went back to work today, daycare accepted Ryan as I'm feeling better but still not 100%. I dropped him off and went back to bed til 11! I woke up and was like whoa obviously I needed that. Eating some soup now to start, my nausea is gone but the digestive issues remain, that might be in part because I've had nothing but fluids in about 48 hrs

There's a married couple who sit In the community break room at work for lunch at the same time as me. They're all eating healthy and whispering all the time, I feel like they're judging my food choices.

I'm listening to H scream on the monitor, willing her to go back to sleep because she was down for a little less than 30 min. I have no idea how L sleeps through it.
DD1 is going through another intentionally seeing in her pants phase. What the heck child?!? She's in a pair of pull-ups and can choose to sit in her waste today because I'm too tired and miserable to care.
Parenting while sick sucks. All I want to do is eat some ice cream to try and soothe the fire in my throat and take a nap. Yes, I'm grumpy!
Well, the solo day I so very much needed and was SO looking forward to was cut very short by a call from daycare that Lu had a fever. So instead of my nice relaxing day alone (haircut, lunch, shopping) I have been holding a fussy baby who still refuses to nap. Booooooooo. My mental health has been bad lately. I really needed today

Ugh, I'm sorry. Do you think your SO would take the kids somewhere this weekend or let you go somewhere this weekend to at least get a couple hours to yourself?

Sorry for the rough day. I'm kind of feeling grumpy today too. There has been so much more whining today than the first half of the week.

We are actually heading to my bffs house this weekend. Her H is deployed so she needs some best friend time. It will be really fun, but not at all restful, especially since we are leaving after I get home from work Saturday morning. I have a kid free day next Tuesday (barring illness) though. Looking forward to it already. In the meantime, I'll probably go to the gym tonight for an hour. That's something

I'm still feeling like crap and DD1 peed all over the bathroom floor so I'm ready for the day to be over. When I gave up on DD2 going back to sleep and had nursed her, she signaled for the first time that she wanted a diaper change. Sure enough, she had pooped! Now to try and tackle supper, so not motivated.

Damn it's rough in here today. So sorry for the crappiness leahks77, eyelashedviper, kellybenelly83. I hope things are looking up for all of you soon.
Add me to the crap day list. Warning! Long vent ahead. Enter at your own risk.
SS had an ophthalmologist appointment this morning that I took him to. Can't remember if I've mentioned it to y'all before, but he has a slightly turned right eye. His vision in that eye is very weak and the left has overcompensated for it and functions near 20/20. The nurse tried to measure his eye pressure and give him eye drops to dilate and SS freaked out. I've never seen him so terrified. I can't even begin to describe how difficult it was and how I tried literally everything in the book to calm, assure, and encourage him. Eventually the nurse gave up on the eye pressure test because he couldn't get a reading, but the eye drops had to basically be forced upon him with me and the nurse working together to hold him down. Toward the end I'm almost in tears because it was breaking my heart to see him so upset about it, but there was literally no way out of it to get him the medical care he needs. We go back to the doctor who explains to me that sometime between 7-9 years old this condition can become permanent, but we'll get him in new glasses and see where to go from there. The previous doctor never mentioned that so I'm in shock and feeling the mom guilt hard even though we jumped on fixing this the moment we found out he had vision problems. I take him back to school and spend the next few hours feeling crummy and worrying about him.
2.5 hours after getting to work, daycare calls me to come pick up L because her eye is gunky. So, I left early after coming in late and we have a pedi appointment at 9:45am where I'm betting they'll tell me she has pink eye so I'll be out tomorrow, too. Fantastic.
Taking care of a 1, 2 and 3 year old for a week is no joke. The whining and fighting are too much. I'm glad I'll get a "break" tomorrow when we are driving to Mayo.
I'm sorry piperhalliwell . I hope L doesn't have pink eye. Does she have a cold? My girls get gunky eyes during colds and it usually isn't pink eye.
She has had a slight cough the last two nights and a runny nose since she was five months old, but I'm fairly confident this is pink eye. When she woke up from her nap her eye was super gunky and slightly swollen. Ugh.

I'm just generally exhausted these days and going to bed shortly after ds goes down for the night. I know me working right now is the best thing for our family and DS is well taken care of during the day but I still have mom guilt about not seeing much of him and being too tired to be super fun when I do see him.
Hey all! Last night I got a text from our daycare provider that her daughter tested positive for influenza B. She's school age, and she went in after school, so the amount of time my kids have been around her the last 2 days was minuscule. But anyway, daycare would still be open and at our own discretion. H volunteered to stay home today (which never happens) so he did that and I went to work. I was texting with daycare today about how her daughter was feeling and asking if she had kids there and she said oh of course, I was apparently the only one who cared. I can't believe everyone, including one with a new 3 month old baby, took their kids there to be taken care of in a house all day with someone with Influenza. 🤦🏻♀️Like am I the odd ball out here?
Tonight I made Swedish meatballs for the first time ever and I was so excited, I thought we'd all chow and love them. Bust. None of us really liked them much. Even the kids, who eat meatballs like crazy normally. Boo.
