Pearl Jam>Nirvana, but Soundgarden and Alice In Chains are better than both.

jennyinheaven I don't know is we can be friends anymore 😉
You mentioning Alice In Chains made me hope I had them at work, I don't. Rocking out to Stone Temple Pilots instead. Two bands I would have loved to have seen live.
I saw STP, but not Alice. It was just ok because drugs.
I don't think all high end purses are ugly, but I'm not sure what makes them worth so much. And what happens if you accidentally set it down in like a slush puddle or something?
I like some expensive purses but I'd never spend that much money on one. I'd destroy it too quickly and would never enjoy it. Plus, there are so many other things I could spend that money on.
I got a really expensive handbag as a consultant prize from Mary Kay and I love it but I was afraid to use it for the longest time and when I finally did and it got it's first scratch, I felt really guilty about it.
I've been to "purse parties" before. They were incredibly illegal in my area because they were taken off the trucks by the mafia. I didn't know until it was on the news after I bought my Burberry purse. It was a great purse.
I guess my UO is give me the expensive bags. I agree there are some fairly ugly ones but I do like the more tame ones. However, no expensive bags until my kids are older. Don't have the money yet and don't want the kids messing them up.
I love expensive shoes too. But I'm cheap so I rarely buy things that are not greatly on sale. And I wouldn't buy a $1000 Chanel bag. Ever. I would buy a $200 Kate spade bag on sale. Or coach. Or $200 Tory shoes. But not the $1000+ level of luxury.

My bosses gave me a Dooney and Burke and I always feel nervous carrying it. I just know it's going to get ruined somehow. Plus, the thing is so heavy and I accidentally bonked the baby in the head with it one time. Give me my $30 Tommy Hilfigers from Ross and I'm good to go.

I totally get the few hundred dollar price range. The quality can make it worth the spend if it lasts for years. I admit to side eyeing when the purchase gets into four digits though. I work with a lot of ladies comfortable with that price range and tons just below that. I just can't.

I haven't bought a bag/purse in years. I have a huge plastic bin in the attic with so many purses I don't use. I can't add to it. I feel to guilty. Then I never give them away.

Yah I don't get it. FFC early I've been carrying the same bag for over 2 years now I got it at TJ Maxx for $25. It's a body bag and is big enough to carry a snack, drink, change of pants and fold up potty seat for J. plus my things.
UO - I hate when adults use the word mama to describe other mothers.
Then you hate me.
You and I can call people "mama" together then. I always say it - "hot mama", "hugs mama", lol. Can't help myself. But so help me God if someone refers to another mom as "mommy". That irritates me. I'm picky, apparently.

See expensive shoes I can get behind, but ridiculously special name expensive but nicer shoes yes. Especially heels, Payless heels just hurt.
activebaby I don't like off the shoulder. I don't like the "cold shoulder" look either.
That cold shoulder look is horrendous. I have people in my office wearing them all the time. It's not attractive or appropriate for the kinds of meetings we're in.
Quality of materials and workmanship. A high quality purse will last a lifetime if it's treated right
But no one who is into fanceh handbags uses one for a lifetime. They need the thrill of buying the next one.
For me, I just really like the look/ aesthetic of the shoes or bag, the embellishments or stitching- something that makes it beautiful to me and also adds to my overall look. I'm not always put together but if I wanted to be, I don't want to my hand bag to throw it all off. Makes me feel pretty, like a nice piece of jewelry.

Yes a lot of people must build a collection or need the latest. I'm saying for me, if I had a lot of money id buy a very expensive purse and use it forever. I take care of stuff I love and use it until it dies
I have 2 cold shoulder tshirts and an off the shoulder top that I love
Ok, but would you wear them to a meeting with a priest and a gazillionaire to discuss an 8 figure estate gift? That's what I'm talking about when I use the word inappropriate.
