Today DH said I could sleep in, I even cancelled my running plans at 6 am. DD woke up at 6:30 and she watched a show in bed with us til 7 then was ready to be up for the day. DH went back to sleep and didn't get up. It's his moms birthday thing today, not a good way to put me in a bad mood first thing in the morning. I'm trying hard to build some patience that I know I'll need. Pass the coffee 😩
Go turn on the lights and tell him to get his lazy ass out of bed.

He got up a little while later and asked why I was slamming dishes and stuff and why I was crabby. I explained to him and he said that next time I need to be more direct and tell him to get up. He thought since I got up that I got the sleep I needed. Ok, I'll be remembering that. Didn't think I'd have to do that but if that's his wishes I'll be happy to kick him out of bed.

Men. I'm direct AF with MH, one of my most used lines is 'if I'm up you're up'.
I don't know what is going on with my stomach. I had toast this morning and was fine and then we got ready and went to a birthday party. I ate some lunch and fine. At the end had one tiny cupcake and now my stomach is cramping again. Ugh.
I am supposed to be cleaning for Peyton's party and feel so gross and now lazing around.
Guise men are not known for being good at reading between the lines. If you want them to get out of bed you tell them to get their lazy ass out of bed.

DH lets me sleep in because I'm spoiled but I use this one very often:
If you look around and don't see any of your children, I have both of them- so you better be looking to take one.
I just wish I had a way of soundproofing my bedroom and locking the door. I don't know if it locks or not but the cats always push the damn thing open and this morning I was woken up by DS1 placing three fire trucks on my chest and whispering "mommy can I wake you up?"

I get to sleep in too. I figure it's his way of thanking me for being such a wonderful wife.
DH lets me sleep in except by the time I half wake up, check the monitor, DH asks if DS is awake and DH actually gets up, I'm usually awake and can't go back to sleep.
C walks in our room and awkwardly stands at the end of the bed staring at us until we acknowledge her. It's creepy. I don't know why she doesn't just come wake us up. I have to "invite" her to come lay with me. I've woken up from a deep sleep with her just staring at me.

Yes to needing to sound-proof. DS's current favorite toys are rescue vehicles as well. He makes siren noises from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to sleep. We had to make a "no sirens in the car" rule because I just really couldn't handle it in such a small space.
My kid can't get out of his room alone- he was up and eating breakfast with H. But H loses track of him and he always winds up in the bedroom. He throws whatever clothes I have laying on the step stool, drags it over and climbs into the bed. I really should figure out a catproof/ kid proof door arrangement.

His fire trucks make the loudest sirens and I need to put tape over the speaker to muffle it. So annoying.

In my experience, if the speakers on the fire trucks are "broken," he just makes the noise himself. Even louder.
I don't know how it happened but DS will not get out of bed unless we tell him it's ok, hence the yelling from his room that he wants to get out
C did this at first. She'd just yell that she was awake and it was time to get her. Now that's it's been a few months, she comes to us. I have a gate so she can't get downstairs and we have tall latches on both front and back doors of the house just in case.

DS has been in a bed since November and still yells, i'm hoping we can keep this going for a long time. Once he does start getting up we're going have to put dead bolt on the tops of the doors, i could totally see him going out to play alone

Both my kids were/are like this. DD1 still yells for me if she hears me up instead of just getting out of bed. Eliza will sometimes get up on her own but more often it's just yelling MOM MOM over and over again.
