DD and I are in Vegas with my good friend and her daughter - they live in Atlanta so we're on opposite coasts. We left the dads and little brothers at home. We wanted to spend some time together before it gets harder for me to get away. It's just a 2-night trip. We're staying off the strip and just picked this location for accessibility with flights and everything.
The trip did not get off to a great start yesterday. DD developed a fever to go along with her cough and was pretty miserable. Plus it was cold and cloudy and we were all pooped from work/school all week and the travel. When we went to bed last night DD was bad enough that I thought I'd either be spending today flying back early or at urgent care. Luckily, she woke up feeling way better and is acting like her normal self. Fingers crossed it stays that way. We are now headed to the arcade and then the pool. We fly home early tomorrow.

sdlaura, glad your D is feeling better! Enjoy your gurls weekend!
It's gross rain/snow/sleet here. At least we have a lot to do in the house today. DH is installing a new light in the nursery and guest room right now while I take a break from cleaning. My shower is next weekendnand my mom will be staying with us for the weekend (my aunt is staying at a hotel with another aunt and cousin if anyone remembers my rant about DH and that) so I'm busy cleaning. I also think we *may* have picked a name or two last night so I keep saying them to see if we really like them.

I mowed the lawn this morning, I feel like that should be all I have to do this weekend. But no such luck... it's back to the grind trying to get this guest bathroom finished. So I'll be alternating chasing the toddler around and helping DH with various tasks.
We're pretty much settled on a name at this point, and I think I might be able to convince DH not to tell anyone until the baby is born. It's not super important to me if his side knows already, I just had this idea of announcing it a certain way to my side when the baby is born, since his middle name is after my granddad. So I feel like it wouldn't be fair to tell one side and not the other. We'll see.
sdlaura that sounds fun! Hopefully dd is over her cold. lotsoflotts I love the idea of announcing the name at birth. Especially since it has a special meaning.

I had plans of cleaning and taking ds2 with me to the gym for some hand weights and yoga. Those plans were destroyed. Ds2 knocked over a piece of subfloor (thick plywood) and it fell right into my ankle bone. I'm currently icing it, trying to wait and see. The closest medical care is 80 minutes away, and since it's my right ankle and we just got snow, that means we all have to go since I can't drive myself. I am not sure it's broken, but I feel like it hurts too much to be nothing. Should I wait it out or just go?

Oh no! Is it swollen? I'd maybe wait and see if it swells or is more painful.

I went grocery shopping this morning. Felt really nauseous at lunch and ended up laying down for a while. I felt better, ate lunch, relaxed for a while, then mopped the hardwood floors. I started getting lots of Braxton hicks contractions (5 in an hour). So I chugged some water, laid down, and ended up taking an hour nap. I hardly ever nap! I woke up feeling fine. Hopefully that was just a weird one time thing. H almost called the dr because I never felt like that during my last pregnancy. Going to take it easy tonight for sure!

I'd wait too with a drive that far and needing to take the kids. Probably not super good medical advice, but that's what the mom in me would do.
I'm cranky this weekend. I've been pretty uncomfortable all day, like my ribs are being squished because I think baby flipped back to breech and is now all up in my ribs and breathing space. Dh had to work again, so dd was on her tablet longer than I'd like since I had to do work. He was supposed to be home tomorrow, but apparently everyone else called out so now he has to fill in. And I had a parent complaining about something stupid (I'm a teacher), which always leaves me stewing even though I know the parent is being ridiculous. I don't feel like cooking, but we ordered out yesterday so I feel guilty :/ I'm so over everything and just want it to be June already.

applemuffins, sorry you're having a rough weekend. I totally get the feeling irritated at a parent. It's even worse when you know they are wrong or the "problem" is insignificant and yet they are complaining about it.

teachermomtobe I just laughed out loud. Maybe that styles making a comeback. Also props to you for being at the gym on a Sunday morning. I've been up since 630 and I'm in bed eating a muffin

I've also been up since 6. DH got us breakfast sandwiches and then I felt the need to walk them off lol
I spent the day yesterday with my SIL and soon to be SIL. We went to the city and got pedicures and lunch, then watched Beauty and the Beast and did a little shopping. It was a great day but I was so tired when I got back home. The number of bathroom breaks I had to take over the course of the day was a little embarrassing. DH has two brothers that he's always been close with, and when we got married 6 years ago both of them were single. I am so so happy that they married/are about to marry women that I enjoy spending time with. They are such greats aunts, and DS loves them both too.
Today is stb SILs bridal shower, and I'm actually looking forward to that too.

I'm an aunt !!! SIL had her baby last night after being two weeks overdue. I'm over the moon happy (this is my first nephew). Seeing the baby made me realize how real this is. On another note DH organized the fridge so all my foods are on the top shelf and in front so I wouldn't have to lean or bend, just an amazing weekend

mreve - So nice you enjoy your SILs! I really enjoy my one sister's H but am not thrilled with my other sister's FI. I don't think we'll ever really enjoy each other's company all that much (my parents and my other sister, my H and her H all feel the same way about the FI). It's disappointing. Mostly because he's not a great fit for my sister, but also because we're all very close now and he's going to be the odd duck.
