My appt. was last week Thur., but the OB surprised me with the one hour glucose test. I was not expecting it because last time they sent me to the lab for it. I had just drank an extra sweet tea, so I was doomed to fail. I have to do the three hour fasting test, at the lab, this Fri.
I failed the one hour with DS as well then passed the three. Hoping for the same outcome this time.
I have my 28 week appt on Friday. Another ultrasound to check my placenta. I have had a marginal previa and I'm really hoping it has moved. I have had an ultrasound every appt except one this pregnancy and it's fun to see baby boy but I wish the things to worry about would stop.
I forgot how disgusting this sugar drink is. It tastes like liquid orange Popsicle. Yuck. Trying so hard not to throw up. 15 minutes.... I can do this.
Oy the glucose test is the worst. I have an appointment next week with the doc and assume he'll get me scheduled for it after that. It's just so miserable! Although this time I'll have ds to distract me - trying to keep entertained during that wait will be a pain too. I really need to make today a work day. There are innumerable loads of laundry waiting to be folded and washed, I need to make a Costco run (we're out of coffee! Gasp!). And maybe if ds is lucky and the weather isn't too bad we'll hit up the park. All this assuming my stomach holds up oh and I need a shower - does anyone else dread having to take a shower? It takes so long to fix my hair afterward!
I've got my regular monthly appointment tomorrow. It's my first without an ultrasound 😭😭 I wanna see my baby boy! I'm pretty sure we'll be scheduling my glucose test then.

Have my monthly appt today! I went for my glucose test at a lab over the weekend. Not sure if the results will be in already but fingers crossed that everything's normal! I know I'm supposed to start getting growth ultrasounds soon...my OB mentioned it at my last month appointment...so I'm hoping I get to see baby girl today!!! It's been almost 7 weeks since we got to see her last!
Had my appointment today, all is well. I was going to do the glucose test today, but A was up crying last night and I brought her in to her pediatrician to get her ears looked at and sure enough she has another double ear infection. Ugh. So my morning was spent running around and I ended up not having enough time to do it. I'll attempt Thursday morning. I know you don't need to be fasting for it, but I failed last time and I'm doing everything I can to avoid the 3 hour. Mostly because I have so much going on this month that I have no idea where I'd squeeze it in!!
Went for my 4-week check-up. Heartbeat sounds great. I'm only up 2.5 pounds from pre-pregnancy. Maybe 1.5, actually. My stomach is measuring 26 weeks (I'm 23.5) but she's not concerned that it's ahead. She said within 2 weeks is normal.
I go back in 4 weeks for a pain in the butt appointment. Rhogam shot, TDAP shot, and 1-hour glucose. Thankfully she gave me an option with the glucose test. She said instead of drinking the drink, I can eat 47 jelly belly jelly beans within 5-10 minutes and then get my blood draw one hour after finishing. I thought she was kidding at first, but nope! Then I switch to every 2 weeks!!

Appt went well! Baby's heart is perfect and overall she's super healthy and super strong! OB said I gained a little too much too fast but I'm at the point where I can still get it under control so no more little treats for this mommy! Glucose 122 so all is good there 👍 we have a kidney appt tomorrow with the MFM so I'm a bit anxious to see the update on that but I was also told that growth measurements are going to start at that appt so I'm still excited! And I'm just super excited to see nugget again 😁😁
xxjen015 that's interesting that they'll let you eat jelly bellies instead of the drink! I wonder if those are really a standardized amount of sugar. 47 in 5-10 minutes is kind of a lot too. Let us know how that goes! My glucose test will be done already but I'm still curious.
xxjen015 I am SO jealous of the jelly beans!!!!!! That glucose drink is GROSS.
And to whine, its been over 24 hours and they still haven't given me my glucose test results!!!! I know it takes time, but usually that stuff is up on my chart online within hours. boohoo. I'm annoyed.
Had my monthly appointment today. I'm still not feeling a ton of movement because AP, so they did a NST to make sure he's moving around enough, and all is well. She said he's moving like crazy, I just don't feel it much.
They are likely going to make me take the glucose test again since I had to take it so early. I saw the NP and she wanted to chat with the MWs first and said she would call me, but it sounds like I'm going to have to do it again. :/
I've decided there's one MW who is my clear favorite, and I hope she ends up being the one to deliver Ollie. My chances are 1 in 4!

I feel like it's been forever since I had an appointment. I go for the glucose test in a couple weeks. I failed the 1 hr with my first pregnancy because I got impatient waiting for the blood test. I will not do that this time. The doctor also told me to eat lots of protein for dinner and for breakfast. No sugar or carbs.
megeliz1, I have marginal previa too. I get it checked again next Friday. I think the last measurement was just over 2cm and they want to see it at 3. When I asked the doctor what would happen if it didn't move, she said we'll see, maybe c-section, maybe deliver in the OR.

I honestly thought she was joking at first. I've never had the drink but we were just talking and I mentioned that others have said it's nasty and she was like, you can eat jelly beans instead.
My results just got posted. I got a 145 on the glucose test. Which is just barely a fail. Not sure if she will have me take the 3 hour or not.
Unfortunately I have low creatine and BUN levels which are indicators of pre-e. Which they've been on alert for since I had it with DD. So I need to get myself away from google because I'm freaking out and I really hope my OB calls tomorrow to discuss the results with me. I'll probably give them a whole hour after opening before I call though because I have zero patience and serious pgAl brain.

I suspect you will be doing the three hour. Hope you pass!
MissSally are there things you can do to prevent pre-e?
I'm not really sure actually. It looks like there are some diets that can help, so I'm trying to research those and hopefully I can start implementing them asap to see if it helps. I'm extra anxious for my ultrasound next week now, because that will give even more insight to making sure the placenta is working and T is growing properly.

At least it will give you a few more peaks at baby? Finding out that you are at risk this early gives you lots of time to prepare for potentially an earlier due date and to take all the possible precautions. You will also be extra aware of any early signs of an issue. It will suck if it does become an issue but at least you'll be prepared!

Definitely. With DD, I went in for my 38 week appointment and they told me to go home and pack because I was going to have her that night. So at least this time if we catch it early enough, I can mentally and physically prepare myself more.
Well. I have to take the 3 hour. And of course they gave me zero instructions and don't answer the phone so now I have to wait for them to call me back. Guess I can't go in tomorrow. I'm just so bummed. This is the last thing I needed to hear right now. I have too much stress and I know it isn't good for me or baby.

Omg that totally stinks I'm so sorry you have to go through that!! And doctors offices are SO hard to get through to, one would think it'd be the one important place to actually reach a human to talk to! I know it might not mean much to say this but just try to keep calm. Lean on DH. Distract yourself with trashy TV. Again I can't speak for you but if it were me it would definitely help to try to think about how you JUST missed the cutoff. And if none of that helps just know that we're all here to listen and go through it with you 😁👍

Thank you I don't think I'm worried about failing the three hour, just annoyed at the situation. And upset about the bloodwork. Unfortunately H is gone until late tonight, but I'm turning on the trashy tv now. 😊

Baby girl's kidney is stable, the story is the same as far as things we do now (continue to monitor) and things we do when she's born (she has an abdominal ultrasound). So basically no news is good news. In other news she's completely on target for growth! In the 55th percentile at a whole 2.2 pounds 😁😜👍
