The next challenge starts on 5/20! The fee to join is currently $39 and will increase to $49 a few weeks before the challenge begins.
I really love this challenge and how it focuses on several different areas of health and wellness (nutrition, exercise, stretching, sleep, hydration, lifestyle practices and reflection) rather than strictly on weight loss. It does not expect you to be perfect. Instead it challenges you to create a happier, healthier life by making small changes to your daily habits.
The team on Parenting was really great too. There were about 12 people that participated in the last one. @thisbitch is the captain and she was very helpful and encouraging. Everyone on the team was very supportive of each other.
@justinslovo Great questions! There are no prizes or rewards. The fee is to join the online community for access to the videos, blog content, tips, strategies and place for the daily tracking and team support. You can always follow along without joining the official challenge. I know some people did that with the last one. @thisbitch and rach might have more to add about doing it that way.
I wasn't sold on it either at first but it was one of the best things that I have done for myself in a long time. It held me accountable, which I needed to get back on track. I was able to change my "all or nothing" mindset too. It helped me focus on changing small things instead of trying to change too much at once and then giving up a few weeks later.
I am definitely doing it again The fee was much lower for returning players too so that helps!
Awesome! I promise you won't regret it! There is a free app and that is how I mainly participated last time. If you go to the bottom of the website there is a link to download it. You can join up to two teams so you would only pay once. I definitely recommend joining the Parenting team. All of the players had done multiple challenges and they were all really helpful.
Hi ladies! I've done 7 challenges so far, so obviously I'm a big fan. I've really liked the challenge for a lot of reasons. I love that the focus in on progress, not perfection. The creators want to see you make a 5% improvement each challenge. Five percent seems doable, while upending my life seems impossible. I've gotten something from every challenge I've done, and it was different each time. I keep learning and so I keep coming back.
You guys are welcome to join the Parenting team and cross-post in our thread. All of the challenge players are real people- busy moms who are trying to fit in a bit of self-care into very busy lives. It's a great group and very supportive. We'd be glad to have you play along- whether separately or with us. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions.
Ha! It was easier than I expected! You don't have to give it up entirely, you just lose a point for each serving. I honestly didn't even miss it by the end.
I'd be interested in a J15 team if there are enough of us!
rach would you want to be J15 captain since you are our expert
I would be honored! You should be co-captain though!
Seriously, I have been on the Parenting team for the last 2 challenges. @thisbitch is AMAZING and queen of all things challenge. If we want to have one big TCF team, that would also be fine. I'm glad to keep J15 posts on the challenge going regardless of which route we take.
I * sucked * it up this last challenge, but a bad challenge day is better than a good regular day. I really, really got some good habits out of my first challenge in particular.
I am so nervous for the food part. I feel like my entire house is non compliant. I am glad to have a month to start to reduce my sugar and bread intake.
There are some parts of the food thing that are going to be easy and some that will be hard for me. I have a cheese stick or salami as a go to snack for me because I do not have to insulin for those. I guess it will be about finding alternative snacks. But even something like a small piece of fruit requires insulin.
