cheshie6 He will again, I'm fairly confident of it - you're just going to work at it a little. It's habit so when you're ready just expect to spend several nights to a week with a little interrupted sleep until he's back in the cosleeper. Everytime he's in a good deep sleep put him down gently but not tooooo slow bc I find they wake more with that, try to mimick the way he was laying with you as far as hands and legs placement. And when you place him down, hold him there a second with your hands and your face close bc he might startle but if he feels you/your hand/face/hair/smell, that'll prob be enough to settle him quickly. You can tell if he's in a deep enough sleep using what my mom calls the "turkey timer" method - when the paci pops/falls out (if he uses one) and he doesn't startle or look for it, hes good to be put down.
Very good chance he'll wake up in like a minute or two - so then you pick him up and do it again. Keep repeating. Eventually he should understand and/or be so tired that he'll accept you putting him down. Alec still isn't great at letting me put him down for naps but bc I do it more than H (H still let's him nap on him EVERY NAP he's around for - weekends and such) he is more likely to stay down when I put him down than if H tries to put him down.
We just got home from O's first swimming lesson (first since he was 1 1/2). He did amazing. Was smiling the whole time. Jumped into H's arms without hesitation. It was so much fun to watch.
E may have screamed the whole drive home because she had been awake for 4 hours and it was hot as balls in there. But I'm calling it a win.

I'm alive! Ugh I was so sick. I'm still not 100%. I had a viral infection which led to secondary infections of sinus and double ear infection. The doctor gave me a steroid shot in the butt and I'm still on anti biotics. My ears are still muffled but at least I can go back to work. I worked from home the entire last week. I got the virus from O. I'm shocked he handled it as well as he did bc I felt terrible. He still has a cough and fluid in his ears. I'm hoping he won't get another ear infection.
dashook we used the love to dream for about a month. I bought it bc it zipped so O couldn't break out. I stopped using it because I felt like it was very tight around his neck even though he was well within the acceptable weight range. We are now swaddle free! He is just in the halo sleep sack. I think daycare had a lot to do with that though bc they don't swaddle.
cookswithwine9 omg, what you had sounds like what I have times a hundred--I'm so sorry, and glad you're on the mend! danib hugs girl. This sucks. The weather can go to hell. starbuck27 legit lol at OMGWTFBBQ!! I'm going to steal that one. But apart from that I'm sorry K is giving you such a hard time. Someone needs to invent a safe, roll-proof straitjacket for these babies to sleep in.
waitwhat we did 8 classes when he was 1 1/2. I would definitely recommend it because first and foremost, it got him used to the water. He wasn't afraid to go in.
They also practiced putting his face in the water, blowing bubbles, kicking, jumping in to mom/dads arms , and even dunking. Our lessons were done mostly in mom or dad's arms but they also did some with flotation devices Whig taught them how to rely on that.
So I'm glad we did it then, but I'm also glad we didn't stick with it for the the last year. I feel like he actually got more from this 1 class towards actual swimming. And he could follow directions so.much.better.
K has gotten really great at flipping back to front. Too good. Here's our bedtime routine the past few days:
1) rock K for what seems like an eternity because she fights sleep like a champ 2) finally get her down and put her in crib 3) walk away in fear that your footsteps will wake her 4) whisper to spouse "I think she's down" 5) hold your breath a few minutes 6) allow yourself to relax slightly. Maybe even press play on that show you've been wanting to watch. 7) k flips herself onto her stomach in her sleep, wakes up like "OMGWTFBBQ"
K so D is now on her third wakeup in 2 hours. I have no idea what her problem is. She didn't want to nurse on her last one and in fact became irate when I tried. I'm currently letting her cry. Idk what else to do. I can't rock her the entire night.

Rinse, repeat.
Story of my life!
Same, except it's almost instantaneous. Put her down, maybe she'll seem ok for a second, and then she rolls over and wakes herself up. Why?
I'm awake because I'm stupid and decided to start reading a creepy AF book. Yay! Girls were both out at 9 (granted Lilah is in my bed), dh is asleep, and I know I have to get up early tomorrow. Why didn't I just watch That 70s Show and go to bed already? Lesson learned.
dashook and everyone else, hope you're all getting some sleep!
ClassyMrsA, I do that all the time! I read a book and it keeps me up because it's at an exciting part or because something's freaking me out!
cookswithwine9, feel better! My dad would recommend a hot toddy right before bed to help you sleep and sweat it out! I just like them so I'm suggesting lol!
hangry, I'll probably put L in parent/child swim class because of the social part. They aren't designed to really teach kids how to swim just get them used to water! I'm doing it in July for Hawaii in September, but 1.5 is a great age to start getting them used to the water! I can't wait till L can take classes.
