So my cycle has finally returned and for some reason I've been using tampons and I hate it. The cup I was using before I got KTFU was super new. Like I used it for maybe two months.
My question is do I reallyyyyy need to buy the new size now that I've squeezed out a kid? I'm gonna try the old one but I thought I'd ask J16s thoughts.
I have a cup in the box waiting to try. I've only had one PP AF so far. I got the small one. Some sites say having a baby doesn't matter. I had a c section which some sites say doesn't matter. I dunno. I thought small to start might be best. Lol.

I looked earlier and the diva cup box says use size 2 if you've had a baby vaginially or c-section. I have no clue. I'm going to try my size 1 tomorrow since I'll be home all day. Will report back if disaster ensues.

I've always been curious about these, but haven't gotten up the guts to try one yet! I have noticed that tampons don't work as well since having a baby... they kinda fall out sometimes.

I didn't get a diva - I think a lena or something. someone posted a site somewhere else
I have a size 1 Lunette that I LOVED prior to getting KU. I recommended it to so many people! I haven't tried it PP yet since I don't really get a period with the IUD. Although spotting is getting old, so maybe I'll get it back out and see how it goes. Will report back.
Well I'm gonna call myself a genius for doing this in the shower. Cuz I really can't imagine not doing it there. Unless you are practicing at an off time, which maybe is also a good idea?
Anyway, the first two attempts I was like holy F, WTF?, this really works?
And then I got it in ok but it was leaking so I took it out and tried again (not in shower...interesting) and got it in further, I guess...and it lasted fine for a while. I wasn't ready to sleep in it so I took it out before bed...well...
Cue me repeating to myself...it cannot be lost in there...you can get this thing out...breathe, relax...for 5 minutes cuz I could not for the life of me get any kind of grip on it to get it out. Like, I'm picturing needing to ask someone for help. But then I stopped and re-read the directions and it said sometime you have to use your pelvic muscles to move it down a bit, so I did what I equate to pushing a baby out (c-section here, so really no clue how to do that) until I could get a grip enough to pull. That kinda hurt a bit.
But that was yesterday, I've had it in for like 8 hours today (inserted in shower this morning again) with minimal leaking and I should really go check on it but I'm kind of afraid. And unless it goes a lot easier getting it out, I won't be wearing it to work tomorrow cuz I really don't think thats appropriate to accomplish at work, in clothes, in a public bathroom.
Seriously though, the motivation to never buy tampons is strong. I can see the potential, I don't feel it in there. (maybe it got lost again?)
I'm just in here because I'm glad I am not the only one who finds tampons uncomfortable now. Thought I might be broken! Alternative option... Thinx panties. It isn't perfect, but I like it better than pads. I've been afraid of cups since reading an article about a girl who got one stuck and had to go to the emergency room and they had to call in a bunch of people before they finally managed to cut it to release the suction... and she was all, moral of the story you have to twist it! And I was more like... moral of the story I don't want something suction cupped to the inside of my body. I might try it if I get annoyed enough with my periods.
I have wanted to try thinx! I have an IUD, so I have only had a bit of spotting, so I thought they may be perfect for that.
Stringy, haha oh man! Glad you were able to get it out!
babyzebra, I'm sorry you are still getting a period! My doctor said it could take 6-12 months before it stops completely with an IUD, so maybe it will eventually.
Haha Stringy that's about what my first experience with the Diva Cup was like. It got way easier though with practice.
I've heard that you shouldn't use them with IUDs, so I'm not...and I'm also one of the unlucky ones who gets a period with the Mirena 👎
You're not? I wonder why! My doctor didn't say anything about that. Hmm.
I'm pretty sure it's because there is an increased risk of dislodging the IUD by accidentally pulling on the strings when trying to retrieve the diva cup. I'm not really sure honestly and I didn't really ask much about it because I didn't think I would still be having my period...

Ohh, I gotcha. I've never actually touched the strings, I think they must have trimmed them pretty short.
That really sucks that you're still getting a period! I had mine placed in December, and I've had spotting off and on ever since (more on than off), but a full blown period...boooo.
