I hope H feels better soon, tgrimes1980. Glad he finally had a BM; C is overdue for one and I'm scared. 😬
Morning!
I'm feeling grumpy this morning.
MIL is due in today and SIL is joining her tmrw. SIL grates on my nerves; I can only take her in small doses. MIL is generally ok but seriously, do these people not realize we are moving in 3 weeks? I have so much to do that does not involve getting ready for guests, cleaning up after them, and finding stuff to entertain them for the next few days. DH isn't thrilled but it's hard to tell his family, 'no, you can't come visit' when we see mine multiple times/week.
B has school this morning so luckily I'll have a few hours to get stuff done uninterrupted.
Oh man LizInFL, I would be annoyed with this visit too! Maybe you can put them to work? Pack some toys away or something? Where are you going to be living before you move up north? Are you going to be closer or further (farther? I can never remember) from ILs?
I wish you luck with the in laws LizInFL! Hopefully they aren't looking for you to be their cruise director the next few days and would rather just relax in he couch 😉
I'm so annoyed with DH this morning. His day to do drop off and get the kids ready, but somehow I end up doing the majority of the getting ready part and still manage to get myself ready and to work on time. Also I caught him not tightening the straps correctly and the chest clip was way too far down on DS's car seat this morning. I fixed it and then I called him out on it and he got all pissy. His excuse that daycare is only 3 blocks away and he's still belted in. Wth?! Basically said, over text, that it isn't okay to put him in there wrong, it needs to be right no mater the distance he's going and if he's going to be lazy about everything, I'll do drop offs in the morning from now on. He has yet to respond back, but I'm refusing to let this go and no way am I wrong in this situation.

We are staying at my parents' May-July--they head to their vacation place in early June.
We'll be about the same distance from my ILs as we are now, 6-7 hours driving. SIL will be further (7 hours instead of 3.5). I'll be shocked if she ever makes it there.
To her credit, MIL offered to help pack, but I have done so many moves that I have my own system and it's faster to do it myself. So maybe she can watch the kids while I pack, we'll see.
I feel guilty making 'guests' do stuff but at the same time, they're the ones who asked to visit knowing our timeline, so maybe I shouldn't. Idk.
tgrimes1980 Yay for finally pooping!! It's crazy how happy it makes me when they both have their normal morning poop. But I'm sorry H is sick :-( I really hope for yours and his sake that it's super short.
waitwhat I'm so sorry you didn't have a great sleep night. You guys obv aren't using a white noise machine? Now that I use that I never hear H erring ready in the morning. Now I'm sure that will all change when our master bath is finally finished and he's insisting to use that instead of the "kids" bathroom but until then I'll appreciate and enjoy it. Also H is back in the guest room with Alec so I've enjoyed snore free nights but we are going to try cribs soon so I know I'll be in your world with nightly performances of Le Snore.
danib It makes me so happy thinking that you're getting some help and rest!!! Eat it up girl, go spend all your money too!
tjanca22 I'm still so paranoid that I don't strap them in perfectly. Our big problem here is that we take the babies next door to the neighbors on Monday and Thursday for sitting so I can go into the office. Well the neighbor has a 3 year old who is obsessed with the twins and made mommy get her twin boy/girl dolls for Xmas. The neighbor let's ER daughter put her baby dolls in the car seats (that's what A and A get carried over in)... And adjust the damn straps. So I am CONSTANTLY having to reconfigure two car seat straps. I should say something but our arrangement just ended anyway as she got a full time position but damn people don't mess with the car seats please.
Morning ladies! Another exciting day of work ahead of me. I got those stupid reports done yesterday but now I have to babysit the approval process. Apparently some of my coworkers planned a lunch today but didn't tell me. They said they mentioned it in last weeks staff meeting but I honestly don't remember. Oh well, I brought a lunch anyway and want to try to leave a little early today. C is at my moms and she is making dinner so after work I'm going home to take care of the dog then heading over there.
LizInFL That is annoying. I know how you feel with not feeling like you can say no. My MIL just asked to come stay for 5 days in August right before DH goes back to work. I really wanted to say no because I want the time alone with him, but I can't. We see my parents usually on a weekly basis so I can't really say anything about her coming then, twice in the fall for both of the girls' birthdays, and for Christmas. I did specify this time that I expect her to do her own dishes. I'm sick of cleaning her oatmeal pot every morning. I agree with danib and just do what you need to do. They decided to come at that time, they can entertain themselves.
Morning all! Exciting day of unpacking groceries and doing laundry over here. If things get real crazy I may try to wash the floors during nap time.
Last night M took a page from @goldenloves3 C's book. She decided that the best time to learn how to log roll was while she was nakey right before her bath. Absolutely hilarious.
Morning ladies! I used the kleigh method of sleep, put down, awake, repeat until Lilah finally quit rolling and went to sleep in the pnp. She woke up and came into bed with us just before 3. Not too bad. DH getting ready usually wakes me up, but I was so exhausted I slept through it.
Debating driving to the library for storytime. I'm going to check time see if my friend is going or not. Last time we went, we ended up alone which was fine, but if I'm going to drive all the way there, I want to have someone to talk to other than the 2 year old.
Water softener guy never called or showed up yesterday. So annoying. So I'm going to call again today and see what happened. He's offered so help us with it for free, but I'll happily pay someone if he can't get it together.
I hope H is feeling better soon tgrimes1980 and it stays contained to just him being sick.
That would make me grumpy too LizInFL. Hopefully they'll keep B & C entertained and you get a ton of stuff done. At least you have a bunch of moving boxes to bury your head in while you roll your eyes.
That gym program for C sounds so amazing danib! I hope you're enjoying your time with your H!
waitwhat seriously. The noise these men make. And I swear the quieter they try to be, the louder it gets.
+whatever to you being 100% correct tjanca22. I'm not sure what distance has to do with not strapping him in correctly. Plenty can happen in three blocks. Hugs.
Is your mom making anything super delicious for dinner goldenlove3? I keep waiting for the ability to make amazing food because I'm a mom now to happen. I'll probably be waiting for awhile.
ClassyMrsA I think kleigh should start putting her sleep strategies book together now. I feel like a part of me is waiting to transition out of bed until she does so that she can hold my hand and tell me what to do.

We had an exciting evening last night. DS2 is officially rolling from back to belly now. He was all over the place yesterday. And then I also learned that DS1 likes raw onion. He's had onion in things before, but I made taco salad last night and he kept coming up to the cutting board and taking little pieces of raw onion and eating them. Whatever, kid, enjoy your onion breath.
jubilantsquirrel Lillian also loves raw onion. I think it's weird, but whatever. She can have all the raw onion.
He's such a weird eater. He won't touch a French fry (unless he's using it to spoon ranch dressing into in mouth) but he loves kale, pickled beets and now apparently raw onion.
LOL at the raw onion jubilantsquirrel. There are some things B likes that really surprise me for a little kid, but he's never been quite that brave!
tjanca22 yeah, the carseat straps are not negotiable. I've always heard that the majority of car accidents occur within 5 miles of the driver's home. Not sure if that is true but you can quote it to your H

sophiegrace isn't the nakey rolling just the funniest thing? 😂 The only problem is that I can't record the shenanigans. Last night he also decided to go nuts in the bath tub. Like that's seriously not a good place to try to roll over bud.
Re food- she's making a dish called maqlooba. It's a rice and chicken dish with eggplant or cauliflower. I totally planned on spending my maternity leave learning how to cook all my mom's meals but major fail on that.
Omg jubilantsquirrel. I hate onion breathe. I'm not sure if I could handle that!
OH my gosh LizInFL Those are adorable! If you're forcing me to choose just one I would go with the flamingo!!
sophiegrace and ClassyMrsA I literally have no idea what I'm doing lol. I just take all of my moms advice and/or watch her and do it - I mean, woman was a saint and raised 6 babies at once (I mean, we are all like one year apart) so I figure she must know a thing or two. I keep telling her to write a book!!! I'm gonna tell her that the wise women of N16 agree she should ;-) She also helped us feed A and A their first food yesterday! Let me tell you, whatever she's doing she's a pro - both had the swallow bit down after the second bite and ate a TON of food - we had to stop them bc they kept grunting and grabbing the spoon for more.

So I have a question about bath tubs. I mentioned above that last night C was squirming around all over during his bath. I haven't been a big fan of our tub for a while but now I'm thinking we need to make a change. We got this tub from my SIL:
It's been fine but that bump in the middle that is supposed to be the "seat" seems like C ends up sitting right on it, especially when he starts to float up. He's also able to reach the edge with his feet so he's lifting his body up too.
So at this age, what is the best option? Is it a waste to buy another tub? Any recs?

goldenlove3 that's what we have. It's done the job, but she always looks uncomfortable in it. Just last night we switched her to the infant/toddler side and she seemed to do better. I had no idea the other side was even meant for sitting in.
ETA: thanks for asking this. I'll be following for recs too. I already like the one waitwhat posted better than the blue tub.

waitwhat So yea.. I totally forgot that we can rotate the tub and use the upright side. I'm going to try that out next time and see how it goes. Still open to recs though!

I was just thinking the same! It looks much more comfortable.
waitwhat Is that green part rubber/foam or plastic?
