We haven't done one of these in a while and I love them. Include your other kids too if you want.
DD1 has been so helpful since DH left. Watching her peel and orange today for DD2 was so heartwarming. She's still a little girl but sometimes I look at her and wonder when she got to be so big. I'm very excited for her to start Kindergarten.
DD2 is such a clown. Her personality can be so tough to handle sometimes and the tantrums are increasing in frequency but when she wants to be sweet or funny she is the sweetest and funniest of my children. She's one of those people that commands the attention of a whole room when she enters it. She's still not saying a lot of words clearly but we understand her ok and her comprehension is out of this world. Like she can follow instructions better than my 4yo most days.
They are the prime example of nature vs. nurture. Not only are they night and day from each other most ways, but they are so extroverted and DH and I are classic introverts. No idea where they get it from.
DS is still mostly a vegetative newborn, but so far he's such a gentle giant. He's a big baby but he has the softest voice, even when he cries. He's such a snuggler just for love reasons not because he wants to be busy like DD2 was, and DD1 was so independant. And his recognition smiles at my voice just melt me. He's even calm when the girls are running around screaming and tolerates their rougher manhandling ways.
E is so much fun right now. She "beatboxes" with me sometimes (boots and cats) and is learning new words all the time. She has also started covering up her dolls for bedtime, and she's in a big eating stage.
Words: Cat, bear, hello, bye, hi, dada, mama, sheep (I think), shirt, fish (ssshhhhh), maybe horse, that.
Things she knows: Eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hair, toes, fingers, feet, hands, sit down.
Things she does: Playing with a ball, finding things she doesn't have, putting things to bed, getting in her toybox to play (lol), coloring, climbing on everything, picking dandelions (get the yellow flowers!)

I'm working on getting C out of the highchair (selfishly, I want that eyesore out my kitchen!). He's been sitting at a booster at the table lately and I just marvel at what a little man he is. He also is a gentleman and only wants to eat w utensils - he will shout "spoon spoon" until you bring him a fork (all utensils are "spoon" in his mind. He ate French fries w a fork last night, despite all of us eating w our hands. Lol.
He has been giving kisses for months, but now he says "muh" (muah) when he does it. He melts my heart.
He cracks me up on the reg. Things I'm sure no one would find amusing but bc he's my son, of course I think it's the best thing ever. The way he hold his little fist up to his mouth and makes a chicka chicka noise when I tell him it's time to brush his teeth. Or the way he forces himself into my lap, hands me a book and demands "book" so that I'll read to him.

My LO is super busy and into everything but hilarious, she cracks up at her own stuff lol Her vocabulary went from a few word to now sentences. Her new thing is saying "hi" then going "how are you?" and also if you ask her how are you? she says good lol She has started telling the grandparents when they are watching her "Mama work" Kills me every time. And she can call everyone their correct names, which the one I am most proud of his her calling my son his name, which is Colin because she actually says the "L" which kids don't usually do.
She knows all her body parts and and sings a few lines in songs which is adorable.
Being held is still her preferred mode of transportation though (which is exhausting) and no is said more than I like. Oh and she likes to hit which leads to her time outs lol Little sinker.
But every time those big blue eyes and dimples look at me, I melt.

DD says about 6 words, but signs over 2 dozen. It's amazing! She has really started dancing and it is the funniest. All we have to do is sing 3 words and she will wiggle her body. She is so sweet with her baby doll which makes my heart ache. She knows body parts and lots of animals. She has really adjusted well to daycare, though we are still clingy.

Homegirl's vocab is exploding. Up, down, Elmo, Hot dog, apple, banana, buh bye, milk, shoes, octopus, dog, car, mama, dada, more, cook, crocodile, all done/gone, uh oh, oh no, row row row your boat, she does the "pop" part of pop goes the weasel. Everything is mine and no. She also asks "what's that? and tells me "I dunno." But, she's starting to combine the thoughts, "no, mine" "mama, no". I swear she has a new word every day. She also knows her own name and says E while pointing to a very specific part of her cheek.
She knows all her body parts and she washes her own self in the tub. She does small chores like cleaning up spills and taking her dishes to the sink. And she is an ace with utensils. She's starting to drink out of regular cups without spilling or choking. She's obsessed with shoes and always bringing them to me or MH. She also can walk fairly well in my heels which is hilarious.
She's getting be a really great swimmer. She swims to me, knows to grab the wall and hang on. She can backfloat and can be underwater for about 6 seconds. She knows to wait for a grownup and loves to jump in the pool to me. She also can do a sommersault apparently, plays on the playground equipment on her own and will only swing in the big kid swings.

E is the sweetest! She knows lots of words even though she doesn't say them much. My favorite is when she says Octonauts. She's very attached to her baby doll and Stitch! She tried to nurse her baby the other day. She is a little monkey and climbs all over. She knows all the body parts and we're starting colors. She's very independent and loves to be outside doing anything! But especially walking.

B amazes me with how smart he is everyday! "More" is his favourite word, uses it for any need he has; wants to eat/drink, wants more of whatever he had, is all done eating (will shake his tray at the same time) and when he wants out of the car seat. I tried teaching him "out" in sign, but since it's so close to "more" he signs that, but you can see the concentration on his face as he signs it.
He also says daddy, mama, up, hi, hat, hot, hello, please, & uh-oh consistently. He can follow simple instructions, like go get your shoes, go to your room. He knows where his eyes, ears, mouth, nose, hair, belly button and feet (piggies) are. He loves playing outside, and will bring me his shoes when he wants to go out. We have to keep our door locked, since he knows how to open it.
L is able to follow simple instructions. He has also had a language explosion in the last month. He has been saying a new word everyday. His newest thing has been saying 2 word sentences. He says "go away" (thanks DD) and "hey daddy." I posted the video to the FB page.
He is always sitting with me and DD when we go over her preschool stuff so he has learned lots of letters. He also knows 2 sight words, lol....go and my. He says and recognizes circles.
Physically this guy can climb! I turned around one day and he was almost on top of my table. He is very affectionate and loves to give kisses and snuggle. His favorite place is in my ergo.
I could honestly brag about Z all day long. I am so proud to call her my daughter and couldn't imagine life without her. She is so unbelievably silly and smart it just amazes me.
We've done signing since she was maybe 2 months old and she did so well with it. Her vocabulary is over 130 words now and I stopped keeping track after it got that high. I only counted words that other people could clearly understand as well. She surprisingly still signs along with saying the words at the same time which I didn't expect.
She is soooo good and saying please and thank you when she wants something and it melts my heart. It's just really hard to say no when she says please haha. I feel like I'm going to have a major Chatty Cathy on my hands though....
She startedwalking at 9 months so she is now running around like a crazy girl and dancing all the time.
My favourite thing at the moment is how sweet and lovey she has been. Hugs and kisses allllll day long. One of my friends has a daughter her same age and Z always tries to hug/kiss and feed her snacks...only problem is he other girl hates being touched!! I just feel bad having to tell Z not to.... I don't want her to stop being so sweet. She really is going to be the best big sister!

@dancerness Z sounds like my DD1. She was using 3 word sentences by the time she was one and she is still a chatterbox lol! She's told no about touching a lot. Even me sometimes. She strokes my hair like a cat and it drives me nuts even though she's just being sweet. She's 4 and it never dampened her sweetness to learn about others boundaries. She does get frustrated with DD2 because she HATES being touched or fed lol. They are quite a pair.

Sounds pretty similar to Z that's for sure! They would get along well. Teaching boundaries at this age is so tough, I'm really trying though.
She has always loved to "help" me with whatever I'm doing but hates being helped herself haha. She's a very stubborn/determined little girl. I just can't believe how grown up she is getting!! I love to ask her all the time if she wants a baby.... the answer is always an excited "ya! Sissy".....I really would love to have another girl but would be happy either way.
Oh I love these threads! W is my crazy wild beast. Latest developments include jumping with both feet and I feel like she has 3 new words a day. Girlfriend loves the wind in her hair and playing outside- she throws a pretty intense tantrum whenever it's time to go in! She loves to share things... after she's yanked them away, but we're working on it! A is my sweetheart. He's kissing everything these days and so excited to communicate! He knows all the vehicles and their sounds. He is a very pensive kid, always trying to figure out how things work. He surprises me every day with something new-he waits until he really understands/master all the parts of a skill before attempting it as a whole, so he'll go for days saying nothing and then bust out a 3-4 word "sentence." It's just been so amazing to see how different minds develop. They both follow simple instructions, and have started bringing me all the things for a diaper change when they poop (then W runs away screaming, but we're getting there). They are both very caring and affectionate towards animals and other kids and watching their sibling bond develop is super sweet- they insisted on holding hands at BWW for lunch yesterday, so cute!
