I love when DH points out what needs to be cleaned in the house, as if I don't see it. *eyeroll* Being stuck in the house with two kids during a snowstorm does not make for a clean house!
When my DH does this, I usually tell him that I agree with him and that he should take care of it himself. He had since stopped pointing out things that need to be cleaned.
It's 9pm. My husband left the house around 6:30am for a day trip to the Bay area. He'll be home in about an hour. Meanwhile, my sweet, darling daughter is going through a Wonder Week and has been nursing constantly today. She's been very, very needy. I generally keep the TV off all day and my DH and I watch some shows at night, but we don't let LO watch the TV.
Well, it's 9pm, my DH's plane should be landing any minute. I've been trying to put LO to bed for an hour. No matter what I do, she cries. She doesn't want to nurse, doesn't want to be rocked, doesn't want to this, doesn't want to that. So I came back to the living room, turned on the TV, and tried to rock her...finally set her down on a blanket and now she is staring at the TV and she is being silent! And even cooing a little bit. I feel bad because I don't want her watching the TV and I know it's not good for the LO's. But damn! Mommy needs a freakin' break.
I had a whole thing ready to post and tagging everybody. But I fell asleep and pressed the back button and it disappeared! I can't retype it all Just know that I think some of your babies are funny, and I'm there with you all with the fussy babies tonight. Now I sleep.

calimomof1 A little tv is fine. Give yourself a break from time to time. I read a research study somewhere (can't find it now) that a little tv here and there isn't bad. It's when parents plop their kids in front of the TV for hours as a baby sitter everyday that starts problems. Then it can affect speech, learning, etc.
catlady22 do you use standard or wide neck? Just asking because I saw somewhere that standard works well with preemie nipple for breastfed babies. So many decisions! I'm so sorry about your work trip! I don't have any advice, but hope someone can help! If the hotel fridge has an upper "freezer" area built into it milk lasts longer than in the fridge, but not as long as standard freezer. Then it's good in a cooler for 24 hours for the trip back. I'm probably not much help :/
I use the standard ones. I haven't noticed any issues, but my little guy loves food! Yeah I was thinking about the freezer but then I couldn't refreeze so I don't know.
