Is anyone else's kid shrieking at loud decibels? My ears hurt. I try to ignore. I try to redirect. But it doesn't stop. I put him in his room tonight and closed the door because I needed a break.
N isn't a shrieker but he's a thrower and I've had to do the same. Hugs

I'm no where near caught up. 5 pages for Monday, you all have been busy.
I'm glad the weekend from hell is over. After pink eye made it's way through my house, a bad gastro bug followed. I'm still recovering today. The worst. My BF took the day off to be with me so I could just make it through. Here's to hoping for an uneventful week to follow.
packmomma , you're a better person than me. I would have killed it somehow, while screaming.
I was trying so hard not to scream when it was crawling on the curtain and w was asleep. I try not to kill bugs if I can help it but I do scream while Getting them out of my house. 😂 this time I had to act like it was nothing though because I didn't want w or Molly trying to "help" me get it outside.
I have heard if you try to kill a wasp and fail, it sprays some sort of pheromone in your direction that alerts other wasps to attack you. So, wise move.

ampaints, when #3 pulls on my hair, I pull his offending hand out of his sleeve, so it's stuck inside his shirt. It makes him really mad but seems to work.

Thats terrifying.
When we first moved into our house wasps were everywhere. (outside) Then we found a nest. a fucking huge nest. When we called the bug guy, he found 2 or 3 more. I think he said there were hundreds of wasps in the larger one. so gross. No problems last year. Thank goodness.

Oh my gosh. This is genius. and hilarious. Might have to try this with the hiring and hair pulling.

Scene: #2 goes #2, flushes, takes all his clothes off, and goes running outside.
Me (hollering): child, you need to put on your underpants or else your penis will fall off!!! #2: nuh uh. Me: would I lie about something so important?! Get your naked butt over here right now! *sounds of female neighbor talking to a friend on the other side of our fence*
Me: 39 DH: 39 DS1 born Sept 1999 Married Nov 2010 TTC 2010 2011 BFP ended in ectopic RE Aug 2014. Unexplained infertility Sept 2014-Dec 2014 fermera/IUI/TI BFN's
August 16, 2015 baby Boy M is born and our hearts melt!
He woke up with goopy eyes 😔 No fever yet, but he felt warmer when I dropped him off at my dad's. I'll probably call the nurse just in case. I'd rather take him in for nothing than let something fester and him be sick this holiday weekend.
My parents left this morning. My dad brought DS a balance bike and my mom brought a ball that she got for free at a parade and a bus toy she had from when we were little. He is not into the bike but loves the free stuff. Lol. My dad is disappointed. I think he is too little for the bike right now.
i was thinking this the entire time i was reading the post.
2 parenting questions. 1) are you guys washing your kids hands before meals etc? I may wipe them down but I haven't set up the sinks for him to do it either by himself or with my help. My friend has though and has been doing it for months... Are we supposed to be doing this? Or is she doing the most montessori style?
Okay, I know I'm a day late to this, and I haven't read through the responses yet. But, I do the wipe thing too. C is interested in washing hands because she sees us do it, but the most I've done is sit her next to the sink so I can help her put her hands under the water. She doesn't regularly wash hands.
I was thinking about thisbrhe other day, because we were in target and J had to use the bathroom. There was another mom and kid in the bathroom, and she was singing some song about washing tops, palms, between fingers, and wringing them. Apparently she's prepping her kid to perform surgery later? Just doesn't seem necessary for this age. I'm happy J remembers to use soap.
Dinner was a success last night and everyone ate it. They all asked for more, but I didn't make extra because it was something new and I wasn't sure how it'd go over. Whoops.
When we were in Gatlinburg and took M to urgent care, as the doctor was leaving the room for the last time he offered to pray with us, said he likes to offer that to ask his patients. Our faces must have said it all because he just said okay I'll pray for him.
I'm not shocked about this, and appreciate that he didn't press the point, but i really wish I could have seen my face. I have very little ability to hide what I'm thinking/ feeling.
My extended family, and H's extended family frequently ask us this. I'm an atheist. Pass.
I used to be really nice and smile, say no thanks. After the billionth time I got bitchy and now just stare for a second, then change the subject.
Today is picture day. My mom is in FL which means MIL brings the kids to school. My mom always does DD's hair in a nice, tight ponytail and braids it. MIL never does dd's hair and she always looks like a hot mess.
DC director must have been reading my mind because she texted me this AM saying "don't worry, Ms. N is going to take care of dd's hair"
I got an unexpected raise at work yesterday. They're throwing me a bone because, thanks to the currenr federal freeze, I can't get the promotion I'm actually up for. This is a much lower amount, but I'll take it!
I usually go to be at 9:30 because I'm old. Stayed up until 11 last night because H got home from work late and we wanted to talk. C cried every couple hours last night. Then H's phone rang at 4:30, and my alarm goes off at 5:00.
I need to give a presentation this afternoon. I will consider it a success if I don't fall asleep in the middle of it.

H officially found out that he has to travel for work at the end of April. he will be gone for 5 days. I really choose a sucky time to give up alcohol. pray for me. lol
Side note: When my SIL went to on a vacation without children (for a long weekend), my mom flew down and helped my brother take care of the kids. She was planning on making a trip down there anyway but went a few days early. When i mentioned that H was going to be traveling for work she said that she'd come help but that with just getting back from my brothers she just didn't want to. She' also going to be taking care of my aunt in a few weeks when my aunt has her knee replaced. So she doesn't want to be here for a week then home for a week and then to my aunts for a few weeks. This all make sense but also makes me scratch my head a little. Then again my mom is also that one that has said things like, "so (enter my H's name) had to babysit while you went to the movies with your friend" Or when she IS here and I ask her if she wants to run somewhere, just the two of us, she'll say something like, "we should make sure the guys (as in my dad and my H) want to watch the kids"
