We are attempting to jump back in our routine today after being gone last week. That means it's grocery day. It appears to have been a rough night for the toddler so it will probably be a quiet day in this house.

C did really well at church yesterday. He took a nap for about half of mass but the rest of the time he was smiling and playing with the palms. He did start to blow raspberries but it wasn't too loud thankfully lol. Afterwards we went to my parents house for brunch and he played in the grass for the first time which was cute.
Sleep last night was fine except he would wake up and make noise which would wake me up but then he'd fall back asleep. That happened a couple times. Then at 4:30, he was up and talking so I sent H in to feed him and tried to get a little more sleep myself. But then I slept TOO long and the rest of the morning was a rush.
Today I get to leave work early so I can pick C up and take him to his 5 month appointment. I'm curious to see what he weighs and hope his head hasn't grown too much.
waitwhat Word. It's supposed to storm today and the group outing for my club is a) far away (like 1.5 hrs drive) and b) is outside at a freaking farm. No and no.
We had a decent night. No marathon nursing so yay? She came into my bed maybe around 2? I honestly didn't check the time. I just woke up to her crawling around the pnp making sad sounds. Well kid, maybe don't crawl when you're trying to sleep? Just a thought.
I was preparing for a day in alone with the girls, but having 35+ people in my club seems to have paid off. One of the other moms who I really like is having a party and we were invited! So off we go. Mommy gets pampered. Lillian gets to play with her new bestest friend. And no one goes insane. Good deal. I also need to stop by the store because we have zero breakfast and lunch stuff. Also tea. I need tea.
Tonight we are going to set up a college savings account for Lilah and possibly have dinner with my dad since he lives near our financial guy's office.
That party sounds like a piece of heaven ClassyMrsA! Good luck at the grocery store, I hope you've had better experiences since that one time you went. Remember to take your wallet!!!!

There's a car parked at the top of our driveway in the grass hidden by the big pine by our pond. I can't tell if there is someone in it or not. I'm scared to take M to investigate, but don't want to leave her by herself to find out wtf is going on. They've been there for over an hour. Could be a flat or car trouble, but they're parked in a very weird place. My H will be home for lunch in an hour so I don't want to call the police for something that could potentially be nothing when they have important stuff to do. Idk.
It's best if you read this while picturing me pacing my house with a bat in my hands.

danib, I'm so sorry. I've given up offering the bottle and have resigned myself to just being there until she's weaned to a straw cup.
Paging jubilantsquirrel to see if she found any tricks that worked. And maybe hangry too? Am I remembering correctly that E didn't care for the bottle?
waitwhat do you have bubbles and/or sidewalk chalk on hand? If not, that would be a great dollar store trip.
danib LT because I have no advice. I have to start pumping and trying a bottle this week and I scared shitless.
sophiegrace if your H wasn't coming home for lunch I would def say call the police. So otherwise, the pacing with a bat is your best option. Keep on, keeping on.
For those that were dying of curiosity, I found my shorts this morning. On the bed. I don't know how they got there.
We just got back from our passport appt. Other than H having to go back to the car bc he tried to bring a too big bag inside and then having to throw a mini flashlight from my keychain away because it's an electronic and no electronics are allowed inside, it went ok. The officers were not pleased with H since he didn't disclose that he had this flashlight. I laughed because I had gone in ahead and they bent over backwards to try to help the lady with a baby. But I also didn't have any contraband.
I'm going to go against the grain here and say, I'm glad it's Monday. This weekend was, rough. It was to the point that I told myself that I looked at the clock and had five, 15min increments before bedtime and kept telling myself we can hold on for 15 more minutes, then again for 15 more minutes. Just need to make it to Saturday.

danib, DS2 took the bottle just fine from 4 weeks until about 9 weeks and then suddenly just stopped. When I went back to work at 13 weeks he still wasn't taking it. He would either just play with it in his mouth or fight it so hard and cry until he passed out.
It took a lot of effort on my ILs part (they watch him while I'm at work), but he's now taking about 11-12oz from a bottle during the day. They had to use an eye dropper and then just slowly moved to a bottle from there. So, they would give him some BM in the eye dropper and when he took some that way they would immediately switch to the bottle. Honestly, it took a solid 2.5, almost 3 weeks for him to start completely taking the bottle. He still won't take one overnight, but he does great during the day now.

Ugh danib. I have no advice but I hope you can figure something out.
sophiegrace That would freak me out too. There was talk about a white truck in my sub and the guy was trying to break into houses. I saw one parked outside my house one day and freaked out but they drove off when I looked out my window. I am always hesitant to call the police because I didn't know if it was just a contractor or someone lost. Hopefully it's something innocent or your H scares them away.
I meant to let everyone here know that I found the missing sock from a couple weeks ago. It managed to get itself stuck in a onsie that I didn't check. Now putting away laundry takes an extra 10 minutes since I have to check every single item carefully.

sophiegrace, I'm glad your H will be home soon, otherwise I would say call the cops. It's probably nothing to be worried about, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

We called the cops on a car parked in front of our house once. There's a fire hydrant there so no one ever parks in front of our house, which is why we noticed the car in the first place. I think we just called the non-emergency line and they sent someone over to check things out. It was the middle of the night and just a few days before Christmas, which is mostly why we called. The car had been parked there for over an hour but no one got out or in. It was also hard to tell if there was just one person in the car or just the driver. Turns out it was just a lady in there and she had pulled over so she could talk on the phone. I'm glad we called though.

danib I'm sorry! I hope you figure the bottle situation out soon! That's way too much milk to waste. My freezer stash is pitiful... it's been slowly depleting. I wanted to make it till 6mo without supplementation but I'm not sure I'm going to make it.
So tired too. O is sick... I'm not sure if it's the same sickness or a new one. Either way he's coughing a ton and so much snot. I think I should call the hospital and ask since his surgery is 8 days away. He woke up at 4:45 and my alarm goes off at 6. So I've been awake since 4:45. I put him back in his crib at 5:15 and he was coughing a lot but that's been normal so I let him be. At 630 when I got him up for the day I realized that he had split up and had his face laying in it! I felt bad about that

Crisis averted. The guy was part of a road crew clearing the draining ditches a half mile up the road. The woods keep me from seeing anything in either direction from my house so I didn't see the work being done. I guess he was late getting to work and missed the opportunity to carpool in with the other guys. So NBD. Thank goodness. You just don't know anymore. Joke would be on them though if someone ever did want to rob us. I spend all my extra money on baby clothes and H spends all of his on weightlifting equipment.
lol sophiegrace I also thought that was H at first in the video tgrimes1980 posted. I was like, where did all that black hair come from all of a sudden?!
@sophie glad you don't have a stalker/serial killer/etc hanging outside your house. That would have bothered me, too!
H: what's for dinner? Me: how about XYZ? H: we just had XYZ! Me: ok, what's your idea then? H: ...
Every.Time.
This is us every night with a couple "I don't know, what do you wants" thrown in. This will go on for hours sometimes until we just end up ordering chinese or Chipotle.
We just spent the last 2 hours outside. It's so amazing out. J passed out in the carrier and I transferred him in the stroller and he stayed asleep for a little. It wasn't on me so I'm super excited about that. Hoping the fresh air makes both kids sleep amazing tonight!
I can't wait for the weather to get nice here! We've had some semi sunny days but the ground is still super wet. DS1 would live outside if we allowed him to.
It was good! His head measured 17.25 and seems to be back on track again. Talking to her directly made me feel much better because I must have made it worse in my head when the message was relayed from H. She said the type of fluid he has is not a big deal and probably more common than we know because ultrasounds aren't routine.
Now his weight seems to be just going up, up, up on the charts. He's 19lbs, 6oz! She said it was a lot of gain for one month but it'll probably level out when he becomes more active.
