I wish we had bigger stores, but I'm in a "rural" area. I looked at Target today and they didn't have much. I'm going to try on the shorts I have and maybe hit old navy, kohls, and Walmart to see what they have. My mom and I are going to Nashville Memorial Day weekend so I'll be buying all the things then (aka probably work clothes).
Can you order online? I end up doing that half the time to save time anyhow, even though I am decidedly not rural.
I can but I'm always wishy-washy on sizes. I know what ON will fit so I'll probably go there.
daystardreams - we have three. I want more but our oldest is 12 now and the third stressed him out.
The oldest (gray) is a mainecoon mix and his name is Jeb.
The tabby is Maggie but she also answers to princess or Stevie
The yellow is our baby (he's 3) and his name is appropriately Butters. He weighs 17-18 pounds.
Aww, sweet! We have two, both long haired males. I always want every cat on the planet so I foster kittens for the animal shelter to calm my kitten craziness, lol. I'm going to skip it this season though since the kittens are often sick when they come in.

I think someday we will foster kittens but for now we are just keeping Jeb stable. He is still really active but he has thyroid issues and just about lost it when we brought Butters home.
Jeb was H's cat and Maggie was mine before we got married. Butters is our oops cat. We went to Petsmart to buy fish and came home with a kitten.

Hi all! I hope you're having a great Friday! Anyone have any good ideas for what to put in Easter eggs for an almost 2 year old? We went to an egg hunt this morning and since we got home DD is having me re-hide the eggs! 😂 I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I had a cat before we got together and then I wanted to foster kittens and our 13th foster kitten, H fell in love with so we adopted him!

One of my friends found character socks in the dollar spot at Target and wrapped those up (they fit in the big eggs). Stickers or temporary tattoos are a hit in our house too. If you are looking for a non-candy food: Goldfish? Fruit snacks? Cherrios?

Yes. I don't mind if she has a little bit of candy but all of the eggs she got this morning we're packed full of it. Honestly, I'll end up eating it all. Stickers and temp tattoos are a great idea! I'm going to hit up Target dollar spot and the dollar store down the street! Thank you so much! 😊
I coughed, and now I have a metallic taste in my mouth.. apparently that's normal during first tri? I've never had this before.. it's making my nausea worse. :-o

Liking in solidarity! I had this sooo bad when I was pregnant with DD. I woke up this morning and thought I had a hint of it again. I used Listerine a lot just to wash out my mouth. Sorry girl!

I'm just relieved that this is normal! I thought I was tasting blood. lol

This is how my cat is sleeping right now. His front paws are fully stretched and the only thing holding the top one up is his thumbs touching (he's polydactal so he has thumbs)

H and I have decided that we are going to tell our parents and siblings tomorrow. We didn't want to tell anyone this early, but we really feel like the extra support and prayers before our first ultrasound will be comforting to us. We never got to see our last baby so I'm still a bit traumatized.
I think tomorrow will be a good day, and I'm pretty confident they will all keep their mouths shut given our history. I'm kind of starting to get excited I'm really trying to be confident and enjoy this pregnancy as much as I can.
notelsie - I get it. Yesterday I bought fabric to back a baby quilt for this one (it was on clearance) and a maternity tank top. It made me feel like it was more real. Really weird being in the maternity section, but real.

I prematurely bought nipple cream today because it was half off... if I end up not needing it I have several friends due this summer that I can gift it to.

We told H's family today. We are feeling so optimistic and really wanted the support too. My family already knew because I needed ALL the support in the last week and H just decided he was ready for his family. Everybody cried and it was very sweet. We talked about it on the ride home and we both felt good about it so I'm glad we did it. How are you going to tell them? I planned big heartfelt speeches but in the end we just gave them a card that said "Good things are coming" and signed with our names plus baby.

I'm so glad it went well for you! I bet they loved the card
We have a "Promoted to Big Brother" shirt that we wanted to put DS in today, but H decided he's not ready to tell our parents or siblings yet. I'm pretty disappointed, but I understand.
I'm totally getting a "big sister" shirt for my DD. I think we'll just text it to the grandparents when we're ready to tell them, or Skype with them and see if they notice the shirt. They live so far away and we don't have plans to see them anytime soon so we can't do in person.
I go back in the morning for more bloodwork. Had questionable US last week after spotting but it could be just too early to tell. Tomorrow will be more telling. Send some good vibes my way

I have an ultrasound tomorrow and am super anxious since my doctor said he expects to see a heartbeat, and would stop saying that things are going well if we don't. Feeling very moment of truth about it. If you have a spare good thought, please send it my way for a good scan at 8AM tomorrow.
