Btw regarding all the pain I mentioned I was feeling in the private thread. I have finally cracked one piece of that puzzle..
Someone had mentioned (I think it was Starbuck?) to drink more water - that DEF helps as does sleep. However I constantly have this one sore spot on my back - it's like part of my spine bone (or whatever it is that protrudes). It feels like a major bruise or like really painful.
And it clicked.
It's my epidural site. Apparently the pain can last north of a year - woo hoo.
It's baby romper weather today and the cuteness has exceeded even my high expectations.
Omg. I die.
ETF: cuteness not cutest.
Pictures??
What temperature is OK for shorts and t-shirts? The Easter outfit I got for C is shorts and a button of t-shirt but as of now the high is only 67 Sunday. I expect it'll be higher than that and humid though so I'm guessing we'll be fine. Or will I look like an ahole?
Generally at this age I dress C about how I would dress if it was 5-10 degrees colder. So 67 I would probably put them in pants and short sleeves. However I fudge that if it's an indoor only event. So he might wear a romper to church and I just used a blanket and carry him in in his bucket seat then take him out/ uncover him.

Thanks aggiebug and tgrimes1980. Everything is indoors.. church and going to my parents then ILs house for dinner. I'm going to get a backup outfit just in case and of course we'll have a change of clothes for later in the day.
kleigh I had a weird pain at the epi site after E was born. It slowly got better and by about 5-6mo I couldn't feel it anymore. Didn't happen this time around.
cookswithwine9 Sorry y'all are all sick--you need a break! B had a stomach bug over the weekend and we got an email from preschool yesterday that something is making the rounds. Found out that several classmates had it last week, both his teachers had it over the wknd, and a kid barfed in the middle of class today. Ugh. There's definitely something going around! I want to bleach all the things.
kleigh enjoy your trip! Sorry about the locksmith--just tell yourself you're helping the local economy
waitwhat C is s thrasher. She's rubbed a bald spot on her head, paws at her eyes, rolls awkwardly, and lifts both legs and slams them down rather dramatically. She also recently scratched her nose...with her toenail. Keepin' it classy...
hangry Glad O is ok! Stuff like that is so scary. You can always try some Mederma on it to help prevent scarring; we used it on a bad scrape on B's face that was pretty ugly, and no scar (not sure if it actually worked or we just got lucky!) He also had to have a piece of his finger Steri-stripped back on when he was about 18 months old. It was pretty gruesome and I thought for sure his finger would be permanently messed up, but you really can't even tell now.
(I swear, we are good parents! Please no one call CPS!)
Busy day here. While B was at preschool I tested and purchased a new stroller for C (heretofore to be referred to as the "pimpin' new ride") and finished Easter basket shopping, and after school we got B some new shorts and bought groceries.
Also, C is 5 months today and I'm in denial. I was trying to take a picture of her in the rocker in her room, and she was about 90% sitting up independently for a couple seconds at a time. Nooooooooooo.
Funny LizInFL, MH (whose out of town) texted me that me that he was going to buy a gallon of mederma when I told him it would likely scar. Once it's healed over we'll start using that.

So I stopped at TJ Maxx to return a couple shirts and see if they had a cute backup outfit for Easter... well $70 later I have a new outfit and a bunch of 12 month stuff for the summer.

waitwhat I actually feel better already. I had horrible stomach pains, tingling, nausea, and then threw up a bunch. I thought I was dying. And then it subsided and I'm slowly nibbling crackers and sipping ginger ale. Also, I've done cauliflower rice and mashed cauliflower. I like both as a healthy alternative. There are tons of recipes out there.
kleigh - glad to hear you are feeling better but ugh that sucks about the epidural site. A year?!?!
hangry - so sorry to hear about your little guy. I have to stitch/glue little ones in the ER all the time and I promise it is almost always worse for the parents. So hard to watch our littles when they are hurting. Also, I looked into quarantining after exposure to chickenpox. There doesn't seem to be clear cut guidelines. Remind me when, what type of exposure you had? That would help narrow it down a bit.
ETA: By type of exposure I mean - who was it and for what length of time? Sibling, daycare, etc?

I mean, if you're going to insist....
It was 80 here today so definitely summer weather. I saw that you got another outfit, but incase you still want to wear the other one I think what PP mentioned about a blanket it the route I'd take too. M also runs super hot. I've never had to follow to 'one extra layer' rule and she's never been upset when cold. So I think it could be baby dependent.
Omg sophiegrace. Are you kidding me with that romper and that pose?! Adorable.
shedreamsincolor I had shingles 2 weeks ago on my chest. I had red spots for 3 days before I was diagnosed and then I had it covered with a tegaderm dressing after that. The spots weren't open before that. And it wasn't too extensive fortunately. So I know her risk is high bc it was me and in a spot she likely touched while nursing, but I was hopeful my antibodies carried over to her.
Like sophiegrace suggested, it's only another week, so I'll just avoid any high infant areas during this time (except the childrens hospital today when I had no choice bc MH is out of town and I have no family around; I'll just have to carry that guilt).

kleigh you NEED one of those keypads pronto!! I hope the rest of your vacation week is so much fun. I hope you're taking a million pictures. That suuuuucks about the epi site. Is there anything that can be done? I'm guessing no? I can ask the anesthesia guy I know if he has any suggestions if you want. Is it never would get one again painful or just super annoying?
Get on with your bad self dashook, I might develop laser beams in my eyes if I ever see anyone hurting M.
Oh no ClassyMrsA! I'm glad you're feeling a bit better and I hope all the hopes that the girls don't get it. This isn't maybe what big L had the other week? How miserable.
Omg I'm so sorry about O hangry. How scary. Ugh. I'm glad he's ok and thumbs up to the milkshake.
LizInFL M is getting a bit too skilled at sitting independently too. Umm 'scuse me Miss, momma isn't quite ready for you to be such a big girl!!
starbuck27 can you direct me in the direction of a recipe?! That sounds amazing!
shedreamsincolorhangry got dx with shingles on her chest (IIRC) and they were concerned because E nurses. So it's up in the air if E even got enough exposure to have gotten it herself let alone spread it around. Shitty situation. Edit: ignore me. I must have been typing when the question got answered!!

Ahh sophiegrace!! She is just too much in that outfit! Where do you get these cute outfits from? I keep wanting to expand from the standard brands but have a hard time with some of the prices.

Adorable sophiegrace!! Lilah has some little rompers, but nothing that cute. And yes, I'm pretty sure this is what big L had. DH was sick over the weekend and my mom and I both got sick with it today. I feel bad for her. It was...awful. When I say I thought I was dying, I seriously was about to tell DH to take me to the hospital I was in so much pain and felt so bad. Stomach is still kinda off, but I'm way better.
Sounds rough ClassyMrsA. Did you eat something that didn't agree with you or get some sort of food poisoning? I've never had it so maybe I'm way off base here. But it sounds terrible and I'm glad your feeling better.
100% stomach virus. We weren't sure with DH, but with my mom coming down with it and Lillian being pukey last weekend I think it's safe to say virus.

That particular outfit is from Carter's. In the beginning all of her stuff was from there, but as she chunked up it doesn't fit as well. The majority of her wardrobe is staples from baby gap. I sign in, peruse the website frequently, and save what I love to my cart, then pull the trigger when they release the 50% off plus and additional 20% sale codes. I stopped buying target early on because nothing seemed to wash well and hold it's size. I'm surprised to say, because I didn't know it existed, that burt's bees baby clothes have been some of my favorite. I get it off Amazon. H bought her some clothes from Hatley because he didn't realize how cheap I've been getting her clothes and I did place an order from tea collection that hurt because of the price, but it was 25% off and the had been looking for short sleeve/short zip up sleepers for awhile. Oh! And the crazy 8 brand that tgrimes1980 is adorable. I can't wait to get her in the stuff.
