So I went for my Elle TENS Machine appointment, come to find out it's been changed to tomorrow, which isn't the annoying part, just that he could arrive by then... The annoying part is that I was told I can't take the machine home with me! What's the point if I can't use it during the first stages of labour? It's to help with pain maintenance, and can take up to an hour to kick in for best results. So if I have to wait till I check in the the hospital, I'll be in way more pain than that thing will be able to help with... Seriously considering cancelling the appointment. Just seems like a waste of time at this point. The money isn't a big deal cause all I have to pay for is the pads that go on my back. Ugh... I don't know... so annoying.

Hang in there!!!! In the end it will all be a whirlwind and then he will be here!!!! Our birth was in no way what we'd planned but those kiddly-winks have a way of making it all seem right.

Also I'd never heard of using a tens unit for labor but after some research I might now order one from the UK!! It's crazy how popular it is in Canada and the UK and how much the US sucks and just wants to jam needles in everyone. dannigirl Thanks for teaching me something new!! FX you get it in time!!

rosesquared, no problem!! lol I didn't know anything about them till our Dr mentioned it at one of the appointments. And I didn't really pay attention till I looked more into it. Sounds like a nice alternative, as long as I can get it on me in time. We will have to see what happens!
kekaellypula, I don't know if it would really replace an epidural. But it's another form of pain management to try in the beginning. I've heard that it doesn't work as effectively once you are actually into the pushing stages since you need to operate the machine when contractions are hitting and you would be too busy at that point I would imagine. lol
