We don't do Easter baskets. We do an egg hunt at home, go a small local one and sometimes gifts. This year dd1 is getting a new bike. Really she needed a bike and I decided since it's lining up with Easter she can have it for that. I got E a couple textured balls today because she's obsessed with balls. So far whenever E sees the plastic eggs she loses her mind, so I probably don't even need to put anything in hers lol.

We do baskets for all 3. We put the same candy in each basket so they look the same, but it normally gets put into one candy pile and LO won't really end up eating it. We put a couple small toys in the basket... DS1 is getting a Minecraft figure and a Pokemon water bottle, DS2 is getting bubbles and a light up ball, and K is getting a helmet to use with her balance bike. Probably something else too.

I tried really hard to not go overboard but my ftmness got in the way.
K is getting: Egg shaped toddler crayons, stacking cups and tea set for her water table, a pbk towel with her name on it, Eric Carle wooden magnets since she is obsessed with fridge magnets, two swim diapers, a better snack cup since the boon one was such a disappointment, a shirt, bunny book and a fork and spoon travel set.
I'm going to put like 4 eggs with puffs and one with a Cadbury mini egg leading up to the basket. Can you tell I'm a little excited?

After the pez factory egg hunt fiasco last year in nervous of public egg hunts. People (parents) are insane!

So far we've only ever done the same one. It's at a garden store. Everyone lines up, they give each kid a cup and the line moves into the green house. There are tons and tons of the little chocolate eggs thrown every where. Once your cup is full, you're done. We stick to that one so far because it's fair for everyone. It's not beautiful or anything, but whatever lol.
MIL does them, she has been doing them since H was little, we still got one even before LO. They are insane. She is really great about being not being to Easter-y since H and I are Jewish (H converted). She also does them for Halloween. I'm sure ours will be here soon. I love candy.

We needed some new bath toys, so the kids will get that for Easter. I don't have a basket, per say, but whatever. We went to the grocery store egg hunt last weekend and it was fun. They split it by age group and every group had 300 eggs. The 1-3 year old group only had like 10 kids at it so the kids got a ton of eggs. We have a little Easter egg hunt at my parents house when we all get together for Easter. There are 4 kids. My brother makes up little rhymes to put in the eggs to make it a scavenger hunt. The 7 year old loves helping the little kids figure out their rhymes. For example: "go look under Pops's chair, you'll find a dolly under there!" Each kid gets one bigger thing and a few small things. I think A got a doll and C gets a new costume, plus the both get some play food for their play kitchen.

I bought a personalized basket and liner. She'll use it forever, so why not? I got her 3 books, bubbles and a bubble gun, Bubble Guppies plush set (she's obsessed), some paints to try in the bathtub, and 1 or 2 other things. I'm gong to put plastic eggs in for the theme, but the won't be filled. She won't be ready for an egg hunt this year so we'll see about that.

This sounds great and manageable. I need to find something like this.

MIL does stockings, Halloween, and Easter candy for everyone. I'll be 60 and she'll still get us candy. My mother does it too.

Where did you get the basket and liner from. I was really close to getting one for K but thought it would be going overboard. I agree that they'll use it for forever so it makes sense to get it. Maybe next year.
My mom got K bathtub crayons and she is obsessed with them. Screams like a demon when she has to put them away because bath time is over.

I'm 32 years old and only found out a few years ago that Easter baskets were a thing. We only ever got the eggs from doing egg hunts while we were growing up. I hadn't even thought of trying to do a basket for J, and since H hasn't mentioned it, I doubt we'll do one for her. Since she's not walking, I also don't see the point in taking her to an egg hunt. We definitely will next year!

Dying at the tiny license plate. That is adorable!

What did the Easter bunny bring then?
The Easter bunny just hid eggs for us. We didn't get gifts either.

We only did an easter egg hunt at my granparent's house and it was known that they were the ones who hid the eggs. The easter bunny would leave a basket at the house though but in plain sight. MH grew up with his basket hidden and he had a trail of eggs going to the basket.

We just got ours, well it was a box not a basket since it came in the mail, but it has a lot of candy and, peeps for us and a book, empty eggs and those grow your own friends (eggs that hatch in water), and egg chalk for LO.
Hahaha! I promise that it's not really as sad as it sounds! (Reads?) My parents were just never big into the Easter bunny/tooth fairy/Santa Claus stuff, and they didn't have a lot of money either. I think I turned out just fine!
My mom went all out for Easter when I was a child. We would have Easter lunch. We would do en egg hunt and get huge baskets with all kinds of goodies. So of course when DS1 was little I would make him nice baskets. Now, I'm kinda over it. Poor LO. I'm making him a basket but it's not a grand one. I got him a VTech go go smart wheels set. He loves cars. I got him some bubbles and a chocolate bunny. Oh and I got him two pairs of shorts since it's starting to warm up.

We never did Easter baskets as kids either. My mum would buy a few small things, usually clothes I think... And I'm pretty sure we knew they were from her. Then we'd have an Easter egg hunt. I never knew until I had dd1 that Easter baskets were this big thing people did.

Growing up, we did egg hunts, baskets and dinner. For the kids I made two baskets. We just picked out some decent size wicker baskets. I stuffed peanut allergy friendly snacks in carrot baggies. So they looked like carrots sticking out of the grass.
- egg shaped toddler crayons -percussion instruments ( shakers, tambourine, bells etc.) - fruit feeder -board books -coloring book - puffs, crunchies -bunny bubbles -toddler safe cooking tools for Isaac.
I also made bunny butt pancakes and we painted birdhouses.
