It's a great little place for a family vacation. There's a lot to do and see but it's generally not as crowded as our beaches in OC and LA.
I think you're going to love it!
Yup. We're up in the air now. We're going to do a little zoo and LegoLand and some pool and beach.
Let me know what you think of LegoLand. I'd like to take Dude, but I'm not sure what the height requirement is for most rides or if he'd be too scared of them.
X had a choking incident at daycare yesterday. I guess they had to flip him over and thump his back until he vomited. So no more puffs for awhile.
They're having a potluck at school today. Thankfully, someone wrote down that they were bringing cupcakes even though they weren't on the list of requested items, so I was able to run to WF and get one for Dude.

Wow, I feel like I am sending B through the gauntlet this week for DC. I had emails earlier in the week about conjunctivitis and then strep throat diagnoses in the preschool rooms. Now I just got a notice about fifth disease.

You're all going to love this weekend, for sure.
I will. C is too small for a number of faster rides but there seems to be a lot for them there. You can also pay extra for a fastpass for rides, which we're going to do. We're impatient people.

Worth it. I'd pay all the money not to wait around with a three year-old. They could probably ask me for a kidney and I'd give it willingly.

That was MH's thinking. We can pay extra not to wait line? Take all of our money!
Sunny41 Everything I've read looks like I won't be able to do anything, even if I wanted to. Obviously everyone recovers differently, but I think at my age, I'm going to be prepared for worst case scenario. tgrimes1980 Staying at my moms would make me recover fast because I would go nuts at her house for more than one night. Love the woman, but we can't live together. And Evie goes to my moms on Fridays, so she would be there the next day. cagoldi Preach girl! It's so much easier on men, I just don't get it. But I'm also the one who is effected by the hormones in BC and I'm tired of it. I just want to get something done, quickly. No more forgetful, depressed, etc. This way I know it's done and I don't have to wait for him to drag his feet.

Pete will not even discuss it.
I'm pissed.
+1 I told him I will gladly get my tubes tied-during my next C-section. We are currently using crossed-fingers as birth control.

I hear you. We got an email this week that flu, a stomach virus and strep were all making the rounds. I guess I should be grateful B only brought the stomach bug home (so far)? Preschool is such a Petri dish.
Morning. We have the burial later this morning so H will not be going to preschool. S slept in my bed last night and when she woke me up to nurse an hour ago I thought she felt warm. Well now she's cuddling with me and I'm positive she has a fever. I guess she will be riding in my Tula this morning. We are going out for brunch after we are done at the cemetery.
Just curious - does H understand what has happened and what is going on? Lots of love and hugs to your family today.
We are the opposite here...DH is more than willing to get snipped and I'm hesitant. I asked him to wait until we're in our early 40s. He has a couple buddies who have done it and it's very common in the Navy for guys to have it done while they're 'out on the boat' (deployed) so it's NBD to him.
I'll still keep an IUD, though, because a) paranoid and b) non-existent periods.

kim22 I promise you they won't separate parents and kids on SW intentionally..Just don't be super late and sit in the back. People switch spots all the time on flights and flight attendants will help make sure families are together, or at least a parent with kids.
I used to love my birth control. But I've been on it since I was 18, the only time I wasn't on it was when we decided to get pregnant. But the past few months I find myself super forgettful, to the point it's screwing up finances by not keeping track of payments, feeling depressed, I'm wondering if it's effecting my energy (or lack of), etc. I don't know for sure it's the hormones, but I feel like after 22 years of putting hormones in my body, it certainly won't hurt to stop them.
Add in my age, part time smoker, and a family history of blood clots, I need to stop.
And while there are non-hormonal methods as well, I just don't want to have to worry about it anymore. Like ever.
Same boat, blood clotting history. I have suffered from migraines forever but never had one while pregnant. Stopped hormonal birth control in October and only 2 migraines since. I also think it helped with my weight loss, being off the pill. I wish I had my tubes tied when T was born but I wasn't ready then.
Thanks ladies. It was short and sweet. We went out to a diner afterwards, all 20 some of us. S has been eating ok, her fever is lower with Motrin but not gone. She's not really having any other symptoms so right now it's a mystery illness.
Quickly checking in after (well technically I'm still here, I just can't work anymore) a crazy day at work.
I've been thinking of you and your family, trtlcrzy, My best friend's daughter was about our N13ers age when their neighbor's son passed. He was just a few months older. She said her DD was just really confused but now doesn't really remember him, which is sad. They were so tight.
DH was always anti-snipping but enough of his friends got it done that he sucked it up and got it done in December. He now admits it wasn't a big deal at all and was the least he could do after I carried the boys. Thanks, but no kidding.
My doctor suggested Essure and a quick google search had me nope-ing. I know there are side effects with any medication or procedure, but the general consensus did NOT seem positive.
Colin still naps about 1.5-2 hours most days, whether he's at home or daycare. Honestly at this point, I don't notice much of a difference when our plans get in the way and he only gets 1/2 hour in the car. If anything, he's an emotional wreck after waking up from a deeper sleep, so at least we skip that when he cat naps.
calishove , naps are all over the place here. At DC, I'd say he still naps about 80% of the time, and it's usually about 1.5 hours.
At home, lately he's not been napping at all. If he does nap, it literally varies from 30 minutes to 3 hours. But I'd say lately it's more like 1-1.5 hours and only about 1/3 of the time.
This down from between 2.5 - 3.5 hours every day just a few months ago.
He goes to bed at the same time regardless of if he naps or not. And he wakes up around the same time regardless of when he goes to bed.

Got out a bit early and getting a pedicure. I could stay in this chair all day. No way was I going straight to get the kids early.
Off to my dad's for the weekend tomorrow..My sister is coming up with her family. We have a family meeting with the social worker tomorrow with my mom. She thinks she may get to go home. She is not. Blerg.
He probably naps 3-4 days a week. Sometimes it's 40 minutes, sometimes it's 2 hours. Here and at DC, he needs to rest quietly. If it's a weekend day and he's been lying down for 45 minutes or so and shows no sign of being ready to crash, I'll go in and get him and tell him he can come downstairs and quietly have a snack and read books until X wakes up (they are on the same schedule a lot).
Tomorrow there won't be a nap since I'm WAH and my mom is here watching both boys, it would be more stressful trying to get him down than just going with it. He probably won't have one Sunday either since we'll be at my Dad's by 2pm.
