I'm starting to prep for our flight to Georgia next week and I'm freaking out about how much stuff I need to bring for A. Would you pack your pump or carry it on? It's a short flight so I'm not planning on having to pump in the airport or on the plane but I can bring a hand pump too if I need to
I would bring the hand pump and pack the regular pump. You're hauling enough stuff as it is.
TMI question - did anyone get varicose veins in their labia/vulva? I worry that is whats going on with me. The pain from my tear seems to be gone but now I have this swollen type of pain, and when I looked with a mirror (yikes) I think that's what I see I can't find a ton on the internet about it. I'm hoping its something that goes away on its own because anytime I use my pelvic floor they hurt badly.
. do not feel guilty! You are doing great. A few times when I've tried to pump while being stressed, I get very little milk. I think lowering your stress level is better for you, and feeding A.
Last night, I put the baby to bed at 8 pm. I fed her, bathed her, put on her pjs and swaddled her and then read her a book. She fell asleep HARD. I think she is losing her newborn curled up look, and she just looks so much more comfy. She's sleeping so quiet, I've actually been having trouble sleeping bc I can't tell if she is breathing. (I've started putting on a thicker sleeper underneath the swaddle and its harder to see her little chest moving.)
Right now, I'm sitting on the floor of my bedroom pumping bc we have carpet cleaners here. Apparently, nothing is going to be dry for 12-24 hrs. I need to figure out what we are going to do all day.
Stupid question, but are you pointing the penis down before closing the diaper? F pees everywhere unless we point it down.
Yep down and centred! Lol
Hopefully the bigger diaper does the trick! I always moved DS1 up to the new size whenever he hit the beginning of the weight limit and it seemed to help with leaks/blowouts.
Ok. H and I talked, and I left a message on the LC phone line that we are going to go back to pumping (and supplementing if needed). I felt an instant wave of relief. And then I pumped 8 ounces in 20 minutes after not being able to get anything out with pumping for 12+ hours (tried a few times, but nothing). I did tell H now that I know I can breastfeed, I would like to try from the get go if we land up with baby #2. I still feel a little guilt, but A is still getting breastmilk, and she and I can still do skin to skin and get lots of cuddles while I pump or while I bottle feed her. And it is super sweet seeing her and H cuddle with her before bedtime bottle and when H has time to do her morning bottle like he did this morning when she refused the boob again.
erinshelley21, mikaela20, props to you too for being able to do the triple feedings. I wish I could have gotten through it, and maybe I would have had an easier time or tried harder if I had started sooner, but with her used to the bottle already she was getting impatient and super frustrated, which would fluster me as well. Thanks for your encouragement though- I hope to start from the beginning with #2.
Big hugs. And holy milk! Thats amazing output.
You are doing a great job. I'm glad you are relieved with the new path forward. She is being fed and getting breast milk. Both great things.
We had a weight check today. S pooped while i was undressing her. I was cleaning her up while the nurse was on the computer. She pooped again and it shot across the room and hit the nurse.

mikaela20 and all the triple feeders-I applaud you being able to handle the MoTN triple feedings. I did it for a few months with DS1 and it put a strain on my marriage and my sanity. I did it for like two days this time and it was two days too many!
renegadewhit Do you have a Trader Joes? I'm pretty sure I got some creme freche there last time...it makeseverything taste better!

. do not feel feel any guilt over how you choose to feed your baby. EPing is not easy so you're working your ass off to feed her. Don't let anyone make you feel bad!

Weighed feeding went well. DD is now 8lbs 6oz and she took exactly 3oz while nursing so I guessed right on her bottle size. I always feel weird at support group because I never want to stick around and hang out. Oh well. We are home now. I'm hoping to get my desk cleaned out and some of DS's baby clothes sorted and posted on FB groups to sell. DH said he wants to list the house in June so it's time to purge all the things.
Why did I think potty training and having a 3 week old was a good idea? Plus the flusher on the toilet just broke. MH has a meeting until 4, has to go to the grocery store and now the hardware store. Ugh.

Speaking of potty training, those of you that have done it, give me all the advice!
We tried the 3 day potty boot camp stuff back in November but she wasn't ready yet. We really want to have her trained before B came but that didn't end up happening. I'm not looking to try again right this instant due to her already having a rough time with baby brother being around. But, I'd love any and all tips and tricks! She goes every night after her bath and a few other random times. I know she gets the concept.
Anyways, she'll turn 3 on July 4th and my goal is to have her trained by then.
Took both kids grocery shopping alone for the first time and it was a success!
You are braver than I!
Today was my trial run since I didn't have as much to get as usual. Figuring out which kid to take out/put back in the car in what order was the biggest challenge haha.
I also have been MIA because life is busy and my DD is a grouch and I am not finding enough time to keep up with all my boards. Lol I used to post on so many. #pwlife
I will also probably be around less starting next week because I go back to work on Monday. F.M.L x 100000
And my son will be turning TWO on Thursday. Omg!!!!
@justinslovo wait...guilt over not having time to post here?! No way. In my mind at least, this place is to vent and get answers to questions and have a generally supportive community. Definitely not a place to add guilt to an already hectic life where there's plenty else to feel guilty about! Most everyone goes through times when they can post more or less. Everyone will still love you when you have time to get back here. Hang in there!
