TGIF all! H and I are going to an out of town wedding Saturday night. It's the first time I will be leaving O overnight. I wasn't worried about it until I started writing down all the emergency #s for my mom. I'm sure it will be fine. Just nerve wracking. We will only be 1.5 hours away though. My mom is coming to stay at my house.
cookswithwine9 Enjoy your weekend away! How nice that your mom can come to your house so you don't have to pack up all his stuff. We are leaving C for the first time overnight in early May and I am nervous, but I know we need the break (ha...although the child we really need the break from is the one I'm not worried about )
We also had a good night here; C woke up around 6 to eat but then went back down til past 8, so I got a little extra dozing in while B watched his morning shows.
DH is back at work; luckily they're finishing up around lunchtime today. He's feeling much better, just weak and tired. Classic 24-hour bug.
I'm taking the kids to the mall this morning; B needs some new spring/summer stuff and Belk is having a huge sale. My sister is coming down for the weekend so we're meeting her and my parents for dinner tonight at PF Changs. Yum.
Driving to work this morning was so pleasant; hardly any cars on the road. Yay Easter weekend!
I got in and once again was unable to access the server. I'm on now, but I'd really like for this to not become a daily thing. Like why would my computer stop working just because I haven't been here in a few months?
Anyway I'm having trouble getting motivated to get started today, but I know I need to. If it weren't for stupid confidentiality stuff I'd post a pic of all the new files I was given yesterday. You can use your imaginations lol. Like my whole office is now filled with them and I need to get another bookshelf in here so that I can put them on it instead of having them taking up all my floor space and both of my chairs.
Oh also DS absolutely destroyed a green smoothie this morning. It was made with whole milk, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, two bananas, and a bunch of spinach, so nice and caloric. I haven't been making smoothies a lot because D freaks out at the noise, but she was still sleeping this morning so I went for it. I may have to work to make it a regular thing because he loves them so much. He was in such a great mood and so energetic when I left the house
Cute boy with smoothie mustache behind spoiler (PDQ):

Last evening we had what I guess we could call a mother's helper come to the house to talk to us. I'm up in the air about it. She would come on the days H doesn't come home until after bedtime for two hours or so just so that I can get some stuff done with the added benefit of M getting used to someone else. She said that after awhile of M doing fine with her she would be happy to extend her availability for nights and weekends for date nights and short getaways and is even willing to take time off of her regular full time job in case of an emergency.
Because of that I feel like it's a no brainer because we have no backup. No one. But then the introvert that lives inside me is doing a very good job at letting me know how uncomfortable I'm going to be having someone in my house 2 or 3 nights a week, how annoying the dogs will be, that M will undoubtedly cry and cry for who knows how long until she trusts her, etc.
I'd be stupid not to take this opportunity though, right?

I'm here at work lacking all motivation to get anything done. It's a slow day and there's no one here. I think my only real complaint about my job is that they aren't flexible when it comes to the work/life balance as far as WFH goes. My job could easily be done remotely a couple days a week, but management refuses. Oh well, at least we get food trucks.

I definitely don't think that's stupid. But I think ultimately it sounds like it will be a huge help on balance. And you know, if it isn't working out or you're finding it's not worthwhile, you can always stop having her come. If it were me, I would give it a try for sure!

Anything good coming today?
No food trucks on Fridays, but we do have a daily lunch delivery service that we can order from. There are always two different places to choose from and each has 3 dishes you can order (meat, veggie and "lite"). Today it's Mediterranean and this bistro type place. I'm debating between getting the lamb and beef gyro with baklava and chili with corn bread. Chili sounds really good right now, but I'm also drooling thinking about baklava.

I'll be around this weekend but might not be so active with my guest and holiday
Our closing is cancelled today. She refused to sign that damn form. But she found a title company that she's willing to work with so now we're starting over with that process and will have to reschedule closing for another day (that were not already off). I'm so pissed off at this lady and wish we didn't have to play into her shit but we really want this lot.

Oh that's so frustrating. I'm sorry for the hassle and inconvenience.
I'm sorry you're closing was cancelled, goldenlove3. How very frustrating. I don't understand why people have to make things so difficult sometimes.
LizInFL, I wore my hair down yesterday for the first time in forever... it was a mistake. I was picking hair off myself all day long. Which was really not fun since loose hair makes me gag, so that was fun.
dashook , I know real trials aren't like tv but I still think they are exciting? Do you have jury consultants? Private I's?
Trials are definitely exciting. 98% of civil cases never go to trial so when it happens, it's a big deal.
We do use investigators sometimes. Or, more often, the insurance company does and we have the report when we get the file once the case is placed in litigation. Jury consultants I have never used. I work with super-experienced litigators and they know so much about juries, in every county of every New England state haha!
I would be breaking out in hives, lol. I am so old-school and traditional.
BUT! I am glad it works for people. Whatever gets you there...
Same here. I'm shocked we feel the same way about this.
I'm so old school that I still say "and also with you". I don't know why they keep changing church. There was a comedian that even did a bit about it and I was dying laughing!
