I have to get out to pop my trunk for the security guard when I drop my kids off at daycare everyday. The guard often makes small chat with me and I struggle with words for some reason. This morning I was being awkward like always and hit my forehead really hard getting back into my car. Like I never hit my head getting in. And I hit hard. In front of the guard.

Ouch, did he say anything? If it's makes you feel better last night I bent down to fix my shoe and whacked my head into a paper towel dispenser in the bathroom at the gym. It hurt.

He didn't say anything and I didn't look his direction, just got in and drove off!

There have been weeks where DD2 didn't get bathed at all. 😳
We only bathe DS once a week. He really needs a bath because it was warm this week and he got sweaty. But he's getting a haircut today so they'll at least wet his hair so I figure that's enough.

I would do this too! But where do you bring the kids that there is a security guard. #fancy
The baby rolled off the changing table last night. There are absolutely no excuses. It was dark and I was trying to measure out a dose of meds that didn't come with a damn syringe and then I heard that thud. Worst sound ever and I keep hearing it in my head. He cried. I cried. He stopped crying. I couldn't stop for long time. Thank god for carpet and resilient babies.

Also, the way it's worded is you have to pop the trunk for the guard. Do they search you or something??? You have a swanky DC!
microworm, DD1 fell off the changing table and we have hard wood floors. She hit the floor first with her head and had a huge goose egg. Big enough that I took her to the ER just to be sure everything was fine. I share to say you are not alone and it can happen to anyone.

The daycare is within a federal building. So there's a certain clearance level you have to have to not be searched even if you're an employee. I just show my ID and pop my trunk. They have bomb sniffing dogs too for the delivery trucks. It's nice that it's an extra level of security but it's sad because that extra layer is because it's a place with legitimate threats. It also takes extra time in the morning and that stinks.

Thanks for sharing. I feel absolutely awful. He landed on his stomach so I'd like to think he broke his fall a bit with his arms. Now after that thread on Parenting where the baby supposedly broke his arm after falling out of a swing, I was wondering if I should bring him to the ER JIC. But I don't think a fall caused that baby to break his arm. I go back and forth. Would I know if he hurt something? Would he keep crying?
Aww microworm it can happen to anyone. Once it was raining and I had just got pictures printed for Father's Day and I had Clara with me. I put her in her seat and didn't buckle her yet, turned to grab the pictures so they wouldn't get wet (literally 2 seconds) and the next thing I know she is on the pavement. I cried but she fine. It happens.
microworm accidents happen. Don't be too hard on yourself.
Once when Bub was a baby I was in the garage trying to get his little push car out, and I put the dog leash in the same hand that was holding the baby so I could reach for it with the other hand. And the dog saw something and ran for it and jerked my arm just enough that I dropped him on the cement garage floor. It all happened so fast that I don't even know how he landed (if I saw it I guess I blocked it from memory, I just immediately scooped him up) so I didn't even know where to look for injuries. I felt so guilty I typed it in FFFC that week, but then chickened out and deleted it right after.
microworm DD2 rolled off my bed a month or two ago and landed flat on her back. She cried for a little bit, but she was okay. I felt so bad and DH of course happened to walk in the room as she fell, so he made sure to give me a death stare.
