This is a weekly check-in for PAIF members in their second trimester. Feel free to join at 14 weeks and we will bid you an excited farewell on your way to 3rd tri after 27 weeks.
If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below (and tag me) and include: -EDD and team if you know/team green if you aren't finding out? -How far along you are? -Upcoming appointments? -Anything you’d like to share.
I'm up and feeling lazy with not much on the agenda today. There's lots to do, just not sure where to start! Anyway, I'm 20w1d today, feeling ok. Just tired and starting to get pretty bad heartburn if I eat too much at once. Nothing much going on, MH felt outside movement one day this week so that was exciting! I can feel one baby pretty consistently, the other one is much harder (anterior placenta) so that makes me periodically nervous. We get to see them in just over a week, so hopefully all is well.
QOTW: I'm so excited for spring, too!! It's so hard to decide favorite season...probably Fall these days, I love fall in New England. But...our summers are pretty great, too. And, of course, spring is awesome after the cold dreary winter...I could live with about a month of winter, cold and snow for the holidays and then it can move along...
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!
wannabmama, so cool that YH got to feel movement!!
AFM, I am 21w3d today. We had our A/S last week and baby girl looked great. It was such a relief and so cool to see her. I actually was released from MFM and won't have to see them anymore unless my BP gets high. Right now it's holding steady at the borderline range. Seems likely it might become an issue in third tri, but I'm hoping it stays under control. Either way, we're keeping a close eye on it. I've been feeling movement every day but it's still really random and it makes me nervous if I go too long without feeling anything. I'm getting a Doppler in the mail this week that someone gifted me. I really hope that helps but I'm a little scared it may make me crazier!
QOTW: Definitely summer. Around here, spring and fall seem to be so short and blend right into winter. I love sunshine and being able to be outside and I'd definitely rather be hot than cold (remind me of this when I'm very pregnant in July/August).
I feel like that about spring, especially, here cali it's so short!! And I also love the heat...but hesitate this year as I face no central a/c, pregnant, in July and August!
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). yoshijo28, is that what that stuck in my throat feeling is?? I've had it every day since last week but I didn't associate it heartburn/reflux because it didn't hurt, it just feels like something is stuck.

Sounds like it :/ sometimes I feel a little pressure or just the feeling it didn't digest. Doesn't burn necessarily but it's annoying. Worse when I lay down of course but even hours later it's still hard to lay dowm
wannabmama, Yay for YH feeling baby. It's so great.
cali, great news about being released from the MFM! I poke my stomach a lot to get baby to move, I'm just a nervous Nelly about it.
yoshijo28, Yes V-day!!! I've been getting heartburn too, it's one of the more annoying things for sure.
AFM, I'm 25w2d and actually feeling pregnant now. My belly is giving me away for sure and baby girl is rolling and kicking up a storm in there most days thankfully. Our shower is in a few weeks and I may have looked at our registry to see if anyone bought anything. And they did Eek!
QOTW: I love fall so so much. I love everything pumpkin and apple and Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year. Plus I hate heat and fall means I can finally start wearing sweaters again.

cali, thank you for the check-in and yay for being released from the MFM!
wannabmama, I feel you on the anterior placenta. Both A&B have anterior placentas. I pick up more movement on A but I think that is because he is so stinking low.
JustJudy, I agree with you on fall. I love sweater weather.
AFM, I am 21+3 and chilling on home bedrest. Right now I'm pretty content with reading and pretty much forcing myself to ignore the house since I'm not allowed to clean.
JustJudy, that is awesome your registry is seeing some action! This weekend my belly hit the point of no return as well!
therealbug, I am glad you are home and hopefully relaxing!
AFM: 24wks 5ds and this boy is moving all the time! He likes to move around most in the middle of the night which is starting to mess with my sleep. It is cool to feel him so much!
Q: Summer is my favorite, mainly because I am done with the semester and get to travel for my research.

therealbug, I hope you can find some good books to keep your mind occupied while those babies keep cooking.
JustJudy, I love that your mom got to feel baby kicking!
yellowcat, so great that you're feeling so much movement. Mine is still very sporadic but the best feing when it happens! I definitely feel her more at night too.
Whelp I am at 27+4 so this is my last 2nd tri check-in! It's a long trimester...
I am getting up and going to work today while all the boys have a holiday... My head hurts too. Good news is a. my sister is coming to visit on Friday with her baby (1 year old) and my shower is on Saturday!!!
I will continue to stock you all after moving on to third tri check in.
Thanks @ketchup for now I've avoided meds for it entirely...it's been annoying but not terrible. But if it gets worse I'll definitely go for the drugs!

My doc does a 2 hour GTT and I'm here now. The guy next to me in the waiting room is playing videos on his phone super loud. Dear lord, why?!?
therealbug , so glad you're home! Reading anything good? I need a new book.
yellowcat , the middle of the night moves are so weird and cool!
juliayadda , Eek! Third trimester, you're getting so close to meeting baby.
@ketchup , Yay for movement!
JustJudy, I'm currently working through Kindle unlimited books so it's a mix of obscure and old - I finished "Life and Other Near Death Experiences" by Camille Pagan which was really good, "The Princess Bride" which pretty much follows the movie but the author's intro and comments are interesting. I'm now reading Life of Pi.
I had had a goodreads goal of 50 books this year. I think I may kill that since the above is since Tuesday 🤓
I'm 21+5 here and can't beleive it. I had my fetal echocardiogram today and the tech said everything looks good but the cardiologist has to look at the specific things. It took about an hour because she was having trouble seeing things but baby boy looks good.
Easter went well for the most part. Everyone was surprised that I'm not huge. I have a very small belly but I've gained about 12 pounds so far. My cousin (who had a baby in September and looked very pregnant by 12 weeks) told me the only place that weight could have gone was my boobs LOL.
We went and registered this weekend and it was super overwhelming. I know we missed a ton of stuff and I was so confused by the carseats/strollers> We will have to go back for that again. Super confusing.
I think we decided on a nursery theme-outer space. Not doing too much with it but I found crib bedding that I really like and might order a few wall decals from etsy. Otherwise the room will be blue and gray.
wannabmama, Heartburn and acid reflux are killing me! cali, I feel movement at least once a day but like you its sporadic. I try not to think too much about it.
Hi! I kinda fell off the wagon with posting here. I don't think I ever introed to this checkin.
EDD and team if you know/team green if you aren't finding out? 9/5/2017, Team Green (one fetus)
-How far along you are? 20 weeks today.
-Upcoming appointments? A shit ton. And that's what actually pushed me to come back. My PAIF anxiety is through the roof. I have my AS on Thursday and a fetal echo in Friday. Part of me is convinced that they'll find something wrong with Lugnut. My work doesn't help, considering I pretty much specialize in "things going wrong". It definitely distorts my perspective on how common/rare things are, which logically I know, but the other part of me is still convinced.

Good luck RajahMD I know the feeling of that anxiety all too well. I make myself sick before each u/s and there are tears as soon as they show me the heartbeat every time. I hope your AS and echo go well and get you a bit of peace!

Thanks lady! I'm sorry that you're dealing with the anxiety too, but it's nice to know I'm not alone.

Oh RajahMD, I totally understand. I refused to buy a single thing or do any prep for baby until after my a/s because I was sure they would find something wrong. I was such a wreck the whole week before that I barely left my house. It's so hard but getting it over with and finding out baby girl was healthy was such a relief. Unfortunately, I dont know if the anxiety ever really goes away but for me it did get better. I hope the same happens for you.

I'm 15 weeks, 2 days. Really just chugging along and am amazed at how much earlier I'm showing, etc. It's messing with my head. I think I'm starting with the pregnancy waddle. Awesome. I've also been solo-ing for a week and have mad respect for @ketchup .
QOTW: I like spring but love fall. I always think I like winter but then am so excited to be outside again. I'm more finnicky with the weather.
RajahMD - PAIF brain is for real, yo. I mean, glad for any reason that will bring you back, but anxiety over the A/S is not #new. FWIW, this is my second PAIF experience, and I was confreakingvinced that something was wrong leading up to the A/S this time. You'd think I'd have more chill this go round, but nope.. I had a "gut feeling" that I couldn't shake, and that I didn't recall having with TT. Ya know what that gut feeling that something was wrong wound up being? A healthy baby. So, there's that experience to add to your pile of probability that everything is okay. Which I know won't make a difference at all until approximately 3 minutes after you walk out of your A/S with good news. We get it, girl.
shytimes - pregnant + solo'ing w/ a toddler is not for the weak, that's for sure. How long you got?

I'm late to this week's check-in and I missed last week's so I'm on a roll. I'm 21w2d. I had my anatomy scan last week and all looked good. Although my insurance sucks this time around and didn't pay for it but that's a whole different issue. I've been having a lot of palpitations so I saw a cardiologist and had an echo and had to wear a holter monitor for 24 hours. I have a follow up on the 24th so hopefully it's all just pregnancy related. Baby has been moving around a lot and I'm starting to feel movement higher up so that's been fun. Heartburn is starting so I need to stick up on the tums. It's not a daily thing yet so that's good. Hoping to hold out until 3rd tri before that starts happening.

@rajamd I'm also irrationally worried about this pregnancy. To a degree that probably borders on unhealthy and is definitely not grounded in reality (I can do research and I know there is no scientific evidence for what I'm worried about). As others have said, it's a real thing and your area of expertise probably makes it even harder. Sending you a rather large hug, and at least now you know you're in good company.
@ketchup (gulps) I feel like a fraud. I'm done tomorrow. I just want to send you the largest foot rub.
PS Are anyone else's feet hurting? It's not like I'm wearing heels (stopped with that nonsense nigh 5 years ago)... but even my comfy flats are not comfy. Awesome.
