Good morning!! I was in quite the funk yesterday. DH and I ended up having a few drinks and chatting late and it was super nice. I can hear the kids messing around playing and I should probably make them breakfast lol. I do like that they entertain each other.
He's still has the hacking cough but he seems to be in much better spirits. He woke up a bunch but h had the monitor so I would wake up and then figured h was handling it (timer, etc) and fall back asleep. When I asked him this morning he said w didn't wake up at all.... So apparently no one was monitoring our sick child. But he doesn't seem worse for wear. Also, h didn't put his tag blanket in his bed (which is probably why it took 40 minutes for him to settle). Tl:Dr I'm a little pissed at h this morning but w seems to be doing better.
I never use a monitor even when E is sick. If he really needs me I'd be able to hear him. And if he's super sick where breathing might be an issue we'd probably have him sleep in our room
runningmommy519 we can't hear him because of all the fans we have going and he couldn't sleep in bed because I can't take my sleeping pills if I'm nursing him. He's no worse for wear but I was not pleased with h.
We propped up w's bed with 2x4's last night and he ended up sleeping with his head at the bottom of the incline. So worse than flat. Hope he figured it out sometime during the night. Silly kid.

packmomma the early childhood class is put on by my local district. I'm sure they have them by you too. We spend the first 30 min playing then we clean up the toys and have circle time. We sing songs. After about 15 min we wash hands. The kids have snack and he parents leave the classroom. We go to another room and there is parent educator that has topics and discussions. I'm learning a lot and wish I would have done it with s1 but I was working.

I mean E would sleep in the pack n play.
Ah gotcha! That's a great idea although I don't know how well he'd sleep with h snoring and Molly moving all around. They're such a loud bunch. I'll definitely try it next time. Genius.
packmomma, we still use a monitor. it sits right next to my head as i will sleep thru a fire drill if i am in a deep sleep. which is why i don't get much sleep lately because i can't get restful sleep when i am the only one in charge.
i was thinking about how busy i am lately this morning. and i am very overwhelmed. like drowning - not just at work but at life in general. on my personal to do list is find a dentist for the kids and me find a new endo dr find a primary dr find a counselor call insurance because i am being charged for C's well visit and shots (seriously, i thought that was taken care now under the aca) order a birthday cake clean the house work out plan dinners for the kids
that's just this week - most i should do today. that doesn't include the everyday of being the default parent or sober parent or the responsible parent or bath times, cook, nurse....blah blah blah.
packmomma, We still have a monitor, but honestly I don't think we hear him from the monitor. Seriously he could wake the neighbourhood some days! lol. I have moved the monitor into the drawer of my beside table because it has lights and was starting to bother me (so perhaps defeating the purpose! lol....now that i'm thinking about it, we probably don't need it anyways). The odd time we will bring it to the basement if we are down there, but mostly we forget.

runningmommy519, we have programs like that offered in our province. Free for anyone. My mom takes M sometimes. I get sad sometimes that I can't take M because of work. But I think they do also offer on weekends sometimes as well.

@janetheconquerer that is a lot, but lists are good. They help me feel a sense of accomplishment when I am able to check them off. Adulting is stupid some days. Sorry it's all so much. Maybe prioritize your list and plan to only do one or two each day, and if you get more done, then bonus! Also don't underestimate easy, simple meals when solo parenting. And paper plates!

That is a lot on your shoulders @janetheconquerer I hope your load lessens soon. It's hard to be the default everything but you are doing an amazing job at it. Hugs
Had to take my van into the shop today. It's leaking gas (and with the price of gas I feel like there are piles of loonies and twoonies on my driveway everyday!). FX it's not a huge expense. I need this vehicle to get us through until hopefully next year.
I'm also back to work today after a wonderful 4 day weekend! It is super quiet in my office, I'm the only one here at the moment, and it's kinda eerie. I going to take advantage of the quiet and hopefully get some writing done.

redandblue, the kids meals this week consist of the following spaghetti and corn last night (great combo right?) hot dogs, corn and fruit tonight mac n cheese and a ham steak with left over corn or black beans chicken nuggets, more left over veggies and fruit i haven't figured out friday but it's most likely rinse and repeat one of the meals thru out the week.
