So yesterday I didn't even leave any milk for P since she hasn't drank any in over two weeks when I'm gone. I need to look up milk donation. I still pump once at work. But that sure makes her toddler like I can't wait to clean out the bottle cabinet.
She also started saying no. Like shaking her head and whole body and swiping with her hand if you offer the wrong snack, wipe her nose or anything she's against. It's funny for now.

I have a "no"-sayer here too.
Stringy what do you do instead of milk for P? I keep thinking we're at that stage - he'll refuse for a couple days in a row but then he goes back to drinking it. We have not figured out sippy cups yet. I've tried giving water or Pedialyte in a bottle, and get the famous "no" in response.
L waves when we say hi or bye-bye. Sometimes emphatically with both arms. It's adorable.
Oh and she claps!
Both of them are very good at making "no" clear. Head-shakes all around!
G's figured out the sippy! He still doesn't quite get it tipped high enough when he's sitting upright though. But that thing is a lifesaver during diaper changes because holy cow. That kid can sure throw a fit and flip over and escape faster than you can blink. The sippy keeps him happy and occupied enough for me to change him. Win!
He has also pulled himself up to standing when he has a lower object to push off of like a bouncer chair at the sitter's.

@cheeze, isn't it funny how some kids just refuse to do one thing? For my DS it's getting out of a seated position. He's done it a few times so I know he can, but he'd much rather just cry until mommy or daddy picks him up. Similarly, it's kind of nice because I know I can put him down seated and he'll stay put for a while, whereas if I put him on his belly or back and turn my head for 10 seconds he will have crawled into another room and climbed up onto something dangerous.

He is all over now. He walks with his walker all over the house and follows you. He pulls up on everything, opens all drawers and cabinets, loves outlets and cords, wants everything big bro has, and lets you know exactly what he wants. We have body shaking yes and no along with a furious hand swipe and throwing if the answer is no. He wants real food and won't eat purees unless he can hold it and it's in pouch form. He still likes milk and I'm trying to make it to a year of breastfeeding so we never have to buy formula. My freezer is also full of it so I'm hoping to start weening a bit before one.

She LOVES water in a sippy cup, straw cup, open cup (MESS) or anything. She sees me getting a cup for M and starts squealing for one. So happy.
But, no calories there. So she nurses all night.
Its a big NO and hand swipe if someone gets a bottle out. I didn't even send any with her this week. Sads.

Babies and cups... same over here. She loves her sippy. Still taking bottles, hates purees or being fed, it's all about self-feeding.
She knows who we are, what "book", "cat" and "bottle" are. Unsure about if words are words or just babbling. She says mama, and "bao" which we think means bottle but haven't tested it a lot. She points to thinks she wants and shakes her head no.
She claps, waves but not consistently, gives kisses.
Still no crawling, will launch herself from all fours, or pull herself around on her belly. She'll take steps while holding our hands.
He just started pointing at everything. He's started cruising pushing the walker around the house, he started waving bye and hi last month, he says cat & dog. He was saying boob the other day but I think it was just a coincidence. Although it is his favorite.

He knows his name. The other day a stranger said, "Bye, C!" and he whipped around to look.
He understands "cuckoo," will look at the cuckoo clock if you say it ( he loves watching the little bird come out. The time is all messed up because softies keep changing it to get cuckoos for him).
My favorite is the word "no." We use it consistently when he blows raspberries at mealtime. A couple days ago I said it in another context, away from the table, and he apparently recognized it because he immediately started blowing raspberries. Great, yes that's what I was going for. Lol
And yesterday G added another skill to his repertoire. He can pull himself up to standing! And he felt the need to demonstrate this ALL NIGHT LONG. Holy shit, I'm tired. Crib lowering tonight!

its the worst!
I need to lower from mid to bottom this weekend too.

ArgyleEnigma we have a cuckoo clock too that DS is obsessed with. It's in our dining room and when he's in his high chair and it goes off he squeals "ooooooooh oooooooh!", and if you say "cuckoo!" at him you're guaranteed the biggest grin in the world.

DD1 can stand independently for about a minute. She's taken 1 or 2 steps here and there but prefers crawling. She's clapping and waving and can sign milk (thanks daycare). She can say Mama and calls the cats Ba (ones name is Bosley). She loves climbing things - stairs, the dishwasher, etc
He will wave now although it's just his hand in the air with a finger up usually because he's just too cool to do a real wave. He can climb the stairs, but I keep him away for now because I'm not ready to do that game yet.
DD waves, claps, points, and says "mmmmm" when you ask for a kiss. She has taken a step or two. Yesterday she said, "ba! ba! Ba!" When we bought a new ball at Target for DS, it was so cute. She still drinks like 25 oz of breastmilk a day, ugh. She eats a ton too, I wish she'd start wanting less milk. She also starting shaking her head for no. I love the one year old stage, can't wait for the next few months!
bexincanada share the advice you get for an 11 month old please!
Will do. I think for us it's getting on the same page and being consistent. If nothing else it may help my marriage, *lol*.
Oh that is exactly what it did do for us. Instead of arguing over what to do about the awake screaming baby at 2 am - we at least had a plan to follow. Whether it worked or not....

I'd like my little guy to drink less milk, too. I pump 3x/workday and get 12-18 ounces. He drinks ALL of that, plus another 8 ounce bottle of formula at daycare most days. And nurses 2-3x/day on those days. When we run out of formula, I'm going to have my daycare provider switch to cow's milk or water after breast milk is gone.
Good idea! I did that with my DS. DD is allergic to dairy, so I think I'm going to keep pumping because I don't really know what we would do otherwise, the doctor said we could do almond milk but I will just try that when she hits a year and is hopefully drinking a little less!
