Story time. So a couple of weeks ago I innocently replied back to the PTO's generic email asking what positions needed to be filled because I noticed an area saying that they were looking for 2-3 board members for next year in their occasional newsletter they send out. Someone responded & said xyz positions & I can meet with you & chitchat with you one of these days if you'd like which I interpreted as their way of recruiting. We were uber busy at that time so I pretty much ignored the email because I wasn't interested in right away meeting, like just email me. It's not that hard. So a day or two later, one of the kindergarten teachers (not DS'), flagged me over while we were walking away after school & tried to recruit me in person which was super stalky because 1) it wasn't her that emailed me back & 2) how the hell do you know it was me that emailed so I suspect it all had to do with knowing who I was by breakroom gossip from when I applied for the job since one of the teachers at the interview was also another kindergarten teacher. The email I use for that ONLY has my last name, I never used my first & when she flagged me over, she called me by my first name. I never interacted with this person so that was weird. ANYWAY, after that occurrence she maybe talked to me once or twice & I told her I'd think about it. I asked her how much of a commitment it was & after she told me it was twice a month of a nightly meeting, I decided to not continue on with going further. So I guess because of that, she stopped all eye contact & friendly hellos. It's so weird. Like seriously? I never said I wanted to join. I literally asked one question, one email. They pounced like animals trying to aggressively recruit & then this one teacher/member gets all mad/high & mighty. What kind of person are you showing that you are by acting like that? It just irks me because I see her pretty much every day when I go pick him up & she actively ignores me.
