Based on how many times I saw this posted on IG and FB, I'm assuming this is an UO. Referring to Easter as "Zombie Jesus Day" is offensive.
Most of us are just having fun with it. In my book, if you die, then rise again, that's a zombie. And Lazarus was a zombie at that, and the Bible actually mentions many forms of zombies. For me, I'd rather celebrate spring zombie day with candy than the religious holiday.
Easter IS a religious holiday. It is the basis of Christianity. It's important. If people want to celebrate spring-zombie day with candy and bunnies, cool. But if Jesus isn't part of the celebration, he should be left out of it.
This seems like a good place to share since we're talking clothes... yesterday I saw a little girl in patterned leggings and a bright sweater - cute! Her mom was wearing the same leggings and a button down the same bright color as the girl's sweater. I doubt it's a uo here that matchy matchy mother daughter clothes are not great.
I have a FB friend who does this...with her son. With LLR.
For you, it is. But all the fun things about Easter are pagan. Bunnies are a leftover from the pagan festival of Eostre. Easter is essentially a pagan festival which is celebrated with cards, gifts and novelty Easter products, because it's fun. Just like Christmas is borrowed from pagan traditions. You celebrate how you want to, and I'll celebrate how I want to. Me calling Jesus a zombie should have no effect on your beliefs. Just like when someone wishes me a blessed Merry Christmas, it doesn't offend me because I'm not Christian and don't believe people are blessed.
There are multiple Christians here telling you it's offensive. It's not just me. I never said it effected my beliefs; I said it's offensive. You're mocking a religion. That's offensive.

I totally agree with leaving Jesus out of the celebration if you aren't religious. But easter is not purely a Christian religious holiday, it has roots in paganism and that's where the bunny symbol comes from. So it is possible to separate the candy and spring celebration from the death and resurrection side
Surprisepartysue has basically decided she never went here and she has no one but the blinds thread to talk to
I feel like she was pretty infrequent here too. Is she in there all day every day?
no, she's there a few times a week. Definitely not frequent. It was just odd that she showed up claiming she needed a board for the BI people so that she could post about her cat there becuase she has no one else and she only goes there. microworm , correct me if i'm telling that wrong becuase i know you called her out on it
@whimsy , it's like she's ignoring we exist
ETA - i have no idea if that's who activebaby was talking about. Also pistolpackimgmama and shitsngiggles were once part of us

I was trying to say it positively, but she was an active poster. I like her. Don't think we made her mad. She should jump back in if she is reading this!

I understand and acknowledge that it's not purely a Christian religious holiday. If Jesus isn't part of your Easter, then he should be left out completely. That was my point. Why bring him into it if he means nothing to you?

Mama2word did call her out. Clearly I lurk the blinds. I never have anything to add because I don't know what is going on with celebrities. The blinds keep me somewhat current.

She's pretty active but doesn't post a ton. But she even said there that she only goes in the blinds thread and doesn't go anywhere else. So that's why she brought in all the cat being sick stuff and house building woes, saying she doesn't have anywhere else to post things about her personal life, which was a little odd to be honest.

I agree with the Easter comments. Everyone can celebrate how they see fit, but to jest at Jesus is not right. I realize as someone who isn't Christian it doesn't seem like a big deal, but to someone who is, it feels differently.

we are one on this. Jesus forms no part of my families Christmas or easter celebrations. I completely understand that zombie Jesus is offensive, it's basically mocking a religions belief

Yea when she was posting about personal stuff saying she didn't have anyone else to talk to, I said she can always come back to her friends in M14 and we miss her. Got no response, just a love tit.

i've wanted to talk about his for WEEKS!!!
Girl me too. I mean, I don't think it's an UO that you shouldn't be talking about your cat dying in a thread devoted to making fun of celebrities.
ETA sorry SPS if you are reading this and this sounds insensitive. Not my intention at all.
