At her one month appt, she was 9lbs, 8oz and 21inches tall!! And this is after her weight had dipped down to 6.8 lbs by day 3 of life (at the lowest point). Kid has come a long way
I can't wait to see how she has grown at her two month appointment!!

We don't do 1 month appts either but she was weighed and measured at a bf'ing support group. Birth - 6lbs 8oz, 19.25 Lowest - 5lbs 14oz 1 month - 8lbs 6oz, 21
madameovary, that's some great weight gain! I'd be proud too!
meggypoo1, no 1 month appt for us either. I was all excited to schedule it to see how much more weight dd gains from 2 weeks to 1 month, but the Dr said, "you've done all this before, she's perfect, no need to come in until the 2 month appt!". I will at least try to weigh dd at home at 1 month but I want to know what she really weighs!
amacbaby, I'm so curious to see what dd weighs at 1 month, considering our babies weighed the same at birth. She was 9lb 5.5oz at 2 weeks, and the last couple days I keep thinking "man, she's getting heavy" so I'm guessing our babes are both growing like weeds! Also, holy moly you have a tall baby! That's great!
suelou18 we had the same thing with DD apparently getting shorter too lol. I saw where the nurse made a mistake though so I just disregarded it as well instead of asking her to do it again. NBD.
I'm kind of worried about DD's size, even though the doctors and everyone else says she is gaining fine.
Birth: 6 lbs., 5 oz.
Discharge: 5 lbs. 14 oz.
1 mo. 7 lbs. 12 oz.
2 mo. 9 lbs 7 oz
How's the growth curve? Is it consistent? Any big dips in percentile? That I more important than the actual weight.
What makes you feel concerned? You are her #1 advocate so make sure they explain to you the what and why of everything so you feel comfortable.
Ha- that's what's weird! I don't know. I just feel like she should be gaining faster. I need to google an it. No dips in the growth curve, and percentiles always go up. It's just slow moving. It's also confusing bc she is measured by Birthdate, and obviously she's small having come 5 weeks early.

I think she's gaining great! My DD was only 2 weeks early and weighed just 3 oz more than your DD. Discharge weights are the same. It's hard to not worry when they are on the smaller side.

glb30 the LCs I have worked with say the goal at this age is an ounce a day for weight gain. So at 1 month your DD had gained ~2 lbs, or 32 oz, so that works out. Between 1 and 2 months she gained 1 lb 11 oz, or 27 oz, which is pretty close to an ounce a day. Just to give you an idea of a specific metric I've seen used a lot.

glb30 if it makes you feel any better I think we have some bigger sized babies on the board. But my perception may be skewed since my babies aways grow slow and Jack even slower than the girls.
My advice, look at HER numbers and curve and give yourself a pat on the back! She's growing!
+1 about the big babies. Both my kids are super fast gainers. (mostly cause I FF, I'm sure)
You're doing great! glb30 I mean, I'm not a Dr but her stats look great to me.
