Hi Everyone~XP to M17
Went in as planned for our c section on Friday. Did all prep work and was in ER by 7:15am! Once they started, my OB noticed I had a lot of scar tissue from my previous CS. It took a while to get to baby, and I experienced a lot more pressure and pulling than with DS. She was born at 8:02am, totally calm! She didn't cry but pinked right up! It was odd but we were assured she was fine, just chill! My husband went over to be with her and they started stitching me up. It was awful...started to get painful. I heard her say they were "putting stuff back in". and I could feel it. It was terrible, and quickly they decided I needed to be put out for them to close me up. I went to sleep within a few seconds and woke up when it was done. My Doctor explained it as "a horrible c-section". She explained there was a lot of scar tissue and adhesions, and was very difficult to get through. In the operating room as I was getting ready to move to recovery she said "no more babies". Later in my room she pretty much begged me not to have more kids, because she didn't want to have to go into my abdomen again...she said I am like one of her kids and she doesn't want me to have to go through that. We had planned on this being our last biological child anyway, so that was ok with me.
Recovery was difficult. Painful, much more so than my first CS. On the second day I developed a terrible headache and it turned out to be a spinal headache. They tried tylenol and caffeine, but that didn't work. I then had to have a blood patch and I was terrified...more needles and pain. We'd had a hard time managing my pain that day with pills, and needed to go back to IV. So I had the blood patch Wasn't any worse than the original spinal, but he had to do it twice and I was dehydrated for the blood draw so I got stuck twice there as well. My poor husband didn't want to leave my side, and waited outside. I felt terrible as he heard me yelling and crying, and I could hear him cry too
It was a long few days to say the least....however the blood patch worked instantly and the headache was gone. After night of rest and IV pain meds I started to feel better and we came home today. All of that was worth it though...to add this new beautiful princess to the family....Miss Willow, totally healthy and continues to be very chill. She barely cries and when she does it is very quiet.
good luck to the rest of you, it is all worth it in the end!
