Up nursing- we put L down at maybe 12:30 and he slept until almost 4:30!!!! This is a whole new world! I actually woke up before him, realized how long he was sleeping, made sure he was breathing then woke up H to tell him how long he slept! I waited for him to wake up on his own. Did a diaper change and now nursing, we will see if he does another big stretch or cat naps from here on out. I don't even care, I already feel like a whole new person.
I'm up pumping. My allergies are so bad, and allergy meds aren't working. Not sure what to do to feel better, short of not spending as much time outside.

I basically didn't sleep after we went back to bed. DD kept coughing and choking on her snot then DS woke up and then it was time for dh to get up and now DD and I are up.
I am taking her to my mom's office today. They all love DS and got DD a bunch of gifts when she was born so I need to make the your drive.
I'm up earlier than normal with C. Yesterday I took him to work because I needed to touch base with a few people anyway. I think I over-stimulated him. He didn't sleep a ton while we were there, and didn't really have a good afternoon nap when we got home. I fed him when we got home, but then he never fell asleep like he usually will after eating. (And I knew he needed sleep at this point.) He got fussy. Several times, I'd hold him and get him to drift off, and as soon as I'd attempt to put him in his swing or pnp, he'd wake up and scream. He dozed for about 15 minutes around 7. I fed him again, and he finally feel asleep about 8:30. I kicked back on that couch, figuring around 10 he'd want time eat, because we usually eat then and he goes down around 11. Nope. At almost midnight I woke up, moved him upstairs, pumped and went to bed. He was up an hour later. (Which is an hour or two before his motn wake up). Which means we are up for the day early. Hoping he takes a good morning nap. Because I'm exhausted.
My mom is coming for awhile today. I may have her hang out with C ask I can nap in bed (not the couch), withoit the monitor.
mosdub glad you got a good chunk of sleep. It's amazing how much an extra hour or two of sleep makes such a huge difference.
glb30 sorry your feeling rough. Hope it improves soon.
mikaela20 you have my sympathies in the colic. After C's meltdown/refusal to sleep yesterday, I feel your pain. (And I'm sure what I experienced wasn't nearly as bad.)

I'm feeling a little silly today. I've thought for a while that when DD pulled off the boob but then insisted she was hungry that it was gas. But this morning I'd just had enough of trying to burp her (and it hurts when she pulls off because she first shakes her head while still latched) so I swaddled her and put her in her crib, thinking we both needed a minute. Well, she's asleep. So now I'm thinking some of the fussing means she's just tired (and full) and I haven't been getting the message. Interpreting babies is hard.

I this happens when we have a busy weekend full of visitors. It happens 2 times in a row when we had a busy weekend. I'm trying to limit our visitors but it's so hard.

Also, FFWC - I went to make coffee today (part of my healthier-me-plan is not going to the coffeeshop for a coffee milkshake and pastries) and discovered there were coffeegrounds in it. DH typically uses pods (we have a Keurig and the grounds were in a reusable plastic pod). He says he definitely hasn't made coffee that way lately, which means those were from my mom making coffee. 4+ weeks ago.

Hi! I've been MIA the past couple of days because we took a short 1 night staycation to the indoor water park here in town. The toddler had a blast. I didn't get to enjoy much of it since I was on newborn duty but it was good for DD to have some fun.
Also, the night in the hotel basically sucked. B is SUCH a loud sleeper still. The Disney vacation is going to suck unless H pulls a free upgrade out of his butt (he has luck with that somehow).
Also, he didn't sleep that well in the PnP so that had me nervous for vacation too! Thinking I may need to start having him do 1 nap a day in the pnp to try and get him used to it.

Do you see an allergist? I can finally go outside thanks to allergy shots. Oh, and I was able to stop taking the extra meds that pregnancy required when my allergies got worse!
Also I was meaning to ask you, do you have a manual pump you'd recommend for when I'm out and about? I missed a pump session and was annoyed yesterday. Otherwise I guess I can get the car adapter it the battery pack for the PISA.
For pumping in the car, I would get one of those adapters that gives you an actual outlet. The car adapter for the pisa is nice but the sick is very weak.

ladytiffany24 I know this isn't your first rodeo, but I'm going to type out some PnP troubleshooting and tips. If you've got all this covered, my apologies. Maybe it'll help others traveling with their babies!
PnP "mattresses" are loud, and cold. Try using a quilted waterproof pad under the sheet. I don't know if they make them fitted, but you can get big flat ones that would lie flat under the sheet.
There are also better mattresses than the one that comes with a PnP but they may or may not be worth the money depending on how much you'll use it and if it packs well.
The bassinet level, if you're using that, is only rated for up to 15lbs. (That's where the mattress is suspended about 8 inches below the top lip of the PnP frame. Some come with an attachment that goes above the frame - that is NOT the bassinet!) It also moves a lot, which some babies love, but some don't like it. If you have future travel plans and your baby is close to the weight limit, that's one less thing to pack or worry about.
. no! But I think I need to see an allergist. It's kind of at that point now. I don't have much of a solution to pumping out and about right now. I have a Medela manual pump, but it seems like a real pain in the ass. I am thinking about buying. Freemie when I go back to work, and I'll just pump on the go like that.
Talk to me about PP periods. I am spotting lightly today. I assume this must mean I'm about to get my period as I'm 9 weeks pp, and haven't bled at all in 5 weeks. I'm scared.

It can be NBD. It can resemble a scene from Carrie. Pack heavy duty supplies with you just in case.

Umm so the first PP period is really bad?! I wasn't scared before but now I am.

I lol'd because I'm in "scene from Carrie" mode right now.
So after 2 colicky days, my guy has been cuddling and nursing with me in bed all morning. Trying not to disturb the peace with my pumping routine and just enjoying my time with him instead of pumping right now.
I took DD to breakfast and she screamed through it. So much so, we left. It was weird bc she never does that. I've gone out to eat with her almost everyday since she was born, and she's always so chill.
So, it pissed me off when the people next to us were so rude when I apologized. Admittedly, we were with a mom and an 11 week old who screamed the whole time as well, so it was loud. The restaurant was empty though, so they could have asked to move.
