After being 6 days late and convinced I was going to be pregnant forever I started having sporadic contractions around 2am Wednesday. I barely slept for a variety of reasons and started timing the contractions in the morning. Mh was working but got home around 11. We hung out for a while and took the dog for a walk. Saw one of my neighbors who asked where the baby was, to which i responded "I'm pretty sure she is on her way." By 1pm they were 3 to 5 minutes apart and I was feeling a lot of pressure.
Checked into the hospital and was at 6cm. Got the epidural pretty soon after and felt great. We hung out for a few hours and by 7ish I was 9cm. My dad had come since my mom was on the opposite coast and my mil was watching dd1. We were just talking and around 730 the mid wife wanted to try some "practice pushes " I think by the third push the babys head was partly out and I was told to stop. My dad who had stepped behind the curtain ran out of there so fast i was dying laughing. They called every one into the room (including nicu since the baby pooped inside) and after a few more pushes Scarlett was born at 747pm. 7lb 6oz 21 in. We thought she was going to be much bigger since she was late.
It was so much easier than dd1's birth. One minute we were watching wheel of fortune and the next minute she was being born. I remember yelling at MH to turn the tv off because I didn't want to hear pat sajaks voice while giving birth.
DD was born at 7:05, right after Wheel ended. DD1 likes to watch her "letter show". We were watching and I was like wow, lots of pressure. Call the nurse!
Congrats again. Your 40 weeker was as big as my 36 weeker, kind of crazy how that works out.
I couldn't believe it. The docs kept telling me she would be as big as dd1 (8lb 9oz). When she was born the MW said she had "a lot of room to swim in there"

Congrats! Pretty name!
Lol I wonder how many babies are born to wheel and jeopardy.
