I tried zoodles for the first time this week and agree that while they are good, they are not the same as actual noodles. DH tried some and thinks they are disgusting. I feel this way about veggie burgers too - good but they are not a substitute for real burgers.
Zucchini noodles are not a good substitute for actual noodles.
same goes for Spaghetti squash and cauliflower in place of anything. I like it well enough but it's no substitute for the real thing
Exactly. If you like those things, they will be fine as sides or a base, and I eat them that way too. But do not try to tell me I or my kids won't be able to tell the difference.

There are whole wheat spaghetti noodles made with 50% veggies - I think tomatoes or something. Those are pretty good.

I like zoodles (and butternut squash version is great in the cool weather!) but yeah, if I'm looking for some pasta give me the real stuff. Same goes with that wheat crap. The only wheat pasta I can somewhat tolerate is thin spaghetti because you can't notice the texture difference as much.

I've found that over time if you just keep eating only wheat, suddenly your taste buds adjust and it's tolerable. I can't switch back and forth though.
I've never tried zoodles. I figured my picky SD and H wouldn't try and the other 2 would follow their example so it would be a lot of waste to make just for me.
Animals should be strapped into vehicles or in kennels. So tired so seeing dogs on laps of drivers or dogs hanging out of the sunroof. I don't want you to hit me because you can't turn quick enough or move fast enough because your dogs in the way. Also I'm sure it's no fun for a dog to fly out of a sunroof in the event of an accident.

DS wanted some of the whole wheat pasta I was eating the other night and he put a couple pieces in his mouth and just kept chewing them and wouldn't swallow them. I assume it was because the texture is different than regular pasta. At least I tried... He sees me eating the zoodles and asks what they are and after I tell him, I ask if he wants some and he very clearly says "no!"
Kind of UO - My new work schedule after I move will mean starting work at 5 or 6am. I'm not hating the idea becuase i can finish at 2pm and have the afternoon free to gym and hang
I can't decide if this is cute or the stupidest thing I've ever seen. It seems the photographer is the mother of one if these people, so it's not like they paid a professional for this shoot, which would definitely push it over the stupid AF line for me.
JoBub, it's stupid, and the source of so many of my "i hate dog owners" UOs
That last pic is pretty adorable though. Like if they had done the photos without the reveal box. Just a "we adopted a puppy!" FB announcement, I don't think I'd have any issue with it.

yes, the last 2 pics are really cute but so much eye rolling at the gender reveal thing.
UO: not allowing cell phones at school during the lunch hour. This is apparently an UO with a few in our office that are complaining about it. There is a school that just recently passed this or it's up for voting, I can't remember. They basically want to not allow cell phones during the lunch hour so that the kids can actually socialize and not spend their time on the phone.
