I went in on Monday for an u/s to check placenta placement. Placenta has moved up and baby looked great. She was measuring around 4lbs 8oz, roughly 63rd percentile. MFM specialist signed off on me and said he didn't see why I should need to go back in. But my OB knows how to get ahold of him if something comes up.
I went in for my regular 32 week appointment yesterday. BP and urine sample were good. Measuring great. But then she threw me for a loop when she said perinatal wants me in every week for observation. So I now go weekly for NST, BP check, and urine sample. On my even weeks (for now) I still have my regular OB visit as well. I'm not sure why perinatal wants me in for monitoring (I can only imagine it's because of my scare last week) but oh well. My OB also said that if I have one high BP reading beginning at 36 weeks she would sent me over to L&D and we would be delivering baby then. So I could potentially have baby as early as the week of May 21. (Which also happens to be the week my in-laws are out of the country.) I'm sure it will happen then.
sabrinaml whoa, that seems so soon. how are you feeling about all of that? i guess they're just being very cautious, which is good. glad to hear placenta has moved and that baby looks good though!

Just makes me realize I should get moving on a few things. (Like finish getting my bags packed.) And honestly, I'm tired of feeling like a ticking time bomb. I've had a feeling since the beginning I would have to go before my scheduled c-section date because of my history. We'll see if this is truly the case. C was born at 36+4, and we went in at 36+1. I was even less prepared to be sent to L&D with him than I am right now.

Have they been watching your BP for awhile? Are they worried about preeclampsia or something else?

Yes, my BP has been monitored very closely since the beginning. Once I hit 28 weeks they started making me leave urine samples at every appointment. With C I had HELLP with is a form of pre-eclampsia. they are monitoring/worried about pre-eclampsia with this one as well. My history is part of the reason I kept my OB even after we moved a little over an hour away. I didn't want to deal with finding a new OB and then not be taken seriously if I had concerns/signs of HELLP/pre-eclampsia appear.
I don't get any more ultrasounds unless there is a concern. Baby Girl measured a tiny bit small at my last appt 2 weeks ago so when I go back next week if she is small again I will have an ultrasound to check. I feel like in the last few days I got much bigger so I'm guessing she'll be fine. I would love an ultrasound but not because we're concerned about anything.
My current concern to discuss with OB is my platelet count that keeps dropping. I know sabrinaml you had HELLP but so far the only symptom I have is the low platelets but I will make sure my OB doesn't think it's that.

Low platelets were the only part of HELLP I actually had. I had other signs for pre-eclampsia that made them do the blood work where we found out about my platelets. Super crazy swelling beginning at 25 weeks, BP would be high and go back to normal then be high again, protein in my urine. I also had fireworks/floaters but didn't realize at the time they were something to be concerned about. (Thankfully I only had them twice at home, and once in the hospital. That was when I found out they indicated an issue.)

sabrinaml, Wow! I'm glad they're watching to make sure things are okay!
I have borderline high BP (pre-pregnancy too) and my practice always takes a urine sample at every appointment either way, but I've never had proteins in my urine so they haven't indicated any concerns so far.
Went in today at 35 weeks (unscheduled) after talking to a nurse to get checked out for PUPPS. The dr said that's what this obnoxious, itchy rash is. It escalated quickly. It just keeps spreading and I pray it chills out soon.
Tears were shed. Just so over being so miserably pregnant.
OB did a check and said Baby A is super low and I'm a whopping 1 cm. She doesn't think I have too much longer to go, thank goodness. I go back next week for an ultrasound and check up. FX it's the last appointment before babies!!!
ETA the dr also said I tested positive for strep B. So I guess I have to get an antibiotic during L&D so I don't pass it onto babies. Anyone else know about this? I don't remember having it with my first..

Strep B is a pretty common bacterial infection that some woman have. Usually you have to go to the hospital a bit sooner because they give you an IV for about an hour of antibiotics to prevent the infection from going to baby. Not a big deal in adults but could cause issues if passed to an untreated baby.
My 32-week appointment this week was uneventful. Baby measuring right on track. BP normal. Next appointment will be a longer one because the MW wants to talk about labor and delivery. Fun!

I tested positive for group b strep the first time around. It's really no big deal. The o my thong it changes too much is that you have to go in when your water break no matter if contractions started or not so you can get the antibiotics. You can test positive one time and not the next and vice versa. They test it close to delivery because it can come and go.
My growth ultrasound is next week. I'm pretty excited to see him again. I'm so tempted to do an elective 3d ultrasound, but I'm trying to just be patient.
I had the last routine sono at OB on Monday. He's estimated at 4lbs 14oz already so it looks like we're on track to have another big baby. DD was just over 9lbs. Stinker is still frank breech. I'm really hoping he flips soon cause it's making me anxious. OB said at my 35 week appt/first check if they don't feel head they will do a sono and discuss options. I've been going to this elective 4D sono place and since he has been breech she hasn't been able to get good pictures so she keeps letting me come back! So I go for a third time there right after 34 weeks and hopefully she'll be able to tell me then he is head down. Or else panic will ensue!
34 week appointment today. I've been under a lot of stress due to some work stuff. Bp was 130/78. Ob said it's ok, but I'm starting to freak out.
Fingers crossed it is just stress and goes away with some de-stress time! Any chance someone can help you out on some tasks on your plate?
My parents try, but they work full time too. MH tries to help, but I'm a picky control freak. It's hard for me to give up control. I with need to a) do it myself or b) supervise so it's done my way. Definitely something I need to work on. It didn't help I had an afternoon appointment so I went there straight from work.

I totally get the "need things my way". I am the same way and rarely ask for help because of it. I get that I am a control freak, and so I just end up doing everything myself!

Same! The stuff I need help with I have to do myself. My MIL is always offering to help, but she wants to like sort clothes, or decorate the nursery. Im not handing those tasks over. She also keeps wanting to buy nursery decorations or crib sheets and I'm so anal, and say no. She doesn't understand I make those decisions... I'm obnoxiously protective of that stuff.
As far as the blood pressure, try not to stress over it. I dealt with it towards the end of my 3rd trimester last time. I would get so amped up before each reading because I was paranoid they'd tell me it was too high and I'd need to be on bedrest or something. They would make me lay on my side and recheck 15 mins later. While I sat there and thought about all the stuff I had to do at work. It helped me to get to my appointment much earlier and just chill out, calm down in the waiting room. They didn't get uppity until there was higher protein in my urine at 39 weeks so I was induced then.

I got induced last time due to my blood pressure. I was put off work the week before I was induced and it sucked. Don't want to be off work with no baby. I want alllll that time with baby after she's arrived. I knew today it was going to be elevated and then I kept thinking about it so I'm sure that didn't help.

honda13 whoops I forgot that you probably mentioned that before. I hope you make it all the way without needing to stop working. I feel the same way, even though I was lucky last time, still worried this time. I've started getting a few random things (tingly fingers periodically, generally head feeling off) that I associated with the BP rise last time so I'm getting nervous too. We're in the homestretch though

It's 9:35 and I'm still sitting here in the waiting room for my 9 am appt. I have an 11:30 with the chiropractor and I'm already nervous that I won't be able to make that. So ridiculous.

Sorry agm04 i know how it feels. I never get in to my appointments on time. It's so frustrating. I was waiting in the exam room for 20 mins last time, which was after a 30 minute wait in the waiting room. I just always have to assume I'll be at the office for 1.5hrs. If it didn't have evening hours and wasn't so close to home, I would have switched a long time ago.
Sorry for those with long waits! The longest I waited was when I was already in the room and it was about 20 minutes because the MW was seeing an emergency add-on (NST or something similar). I haven't had to wait more than 5 minutes otherwise.
i left my appt yesterday at 11:20 (9 am appt). it's seriously crazy but i love the doctor so i deal.
according to yesterday's ultrasound, baby girl is 4 lb 12 oz (58% i believe), head down, and all looks good! i'll take it. they did a non stress test too, which apparently they will be doing at each appt from here on out. i can't believe how close we're getting! every time i read a birth story for a baby born at 35 weeks i'm like UH OH i gotta get in gear!

Just had my ultrasound! I'm 34+4 today and baby was somewhere around 5lbs (I forget exactly), but she said he's right at the 50%. She said if he's born at 39 weeks, he would be 7lbs 6oz. DD was 8lbs 2oz at 39+5 So it seems he's on track to be about her size. Which is a big sigh of relief for me because I was expecting a huge baby. DD did enough damage upon her exit, so I don't need a bigger baby. Of course it could be off, but the estimates for DD were very accurate.
He was stubborn and head down with his face to my back great position for labor. Not so great for pictures. We just got to see one eye lol and of course after we finish, he gets hiccups. Would have been cute to see it on the screen...
